How about a foam roller and lacrosse balls and a massage gift certificate. The recuperation gift pack!

I'm 42. If only I ate as well and exercised as much in my 20s as I do now. The results seem to come harder and harder.

Amazing transformation. Thanks for sharing. I think the thing with body recomposition is that it is more feasible for a novice. The leaner you are, the harder it would be to achieve incremental gains.

You're going to combine the two. It does not have to be one or the other. Think about that.

Exercise burns calories.

7 oz pack of turkey slices from Trader Joe's. I eat it while walking back to the office.

For a given body weight, a woman would likely have less muscle mass and less demand for protein.
-
Women tend to need less protein as they have less muscle mass to maintain.

If he's a he, ask him for help, even if you don't need it. Guys love that.

MFP is a pretty good repository to centralize information. I use the withings scale for weight, endomondo for workouts, and they are both integrated, as well as many other trackers. But you can also add custom 'check-in' measurements and record them over time. If your goal is bigger biceps, you can measure them today then…

You should see my excel spreadsheet!

Every day because why not have more data? I use a withings networked scale and can trend it all over time very easily.

I love running in the heat, but I'm weird. Try wrapping a cold towel around your neck. They really help. All exercises are going to be worse in the heat. Maybe joining some sort of sports league would get your mind off of the heat.

I would time the carbs around the workouts, specifically for the purpose of giving you energy and replacing lost muscle glycogen. Have some simple carbs before, during and after. Non-workout days minimize the intake to what makes you feel good. If you have energy, don't have carbs. If you are sluggish, have some complex…

I was shocked by how little protein I had in my diet. Greek yogurt and turkey slices are easy snacks that have helped a lot. Also a whey protein shake during/after workouts and a casein shake before bed. I'm shooting for about .8 g per lb body weight.

Good idea, though it won't get you near $200. Maybe a bowl stand to go with it. Any chance we wants a TV in there or some other non-workout stuff. It's tough to get specific specialized items without knowing exactly what he prefers.

Lose slowly, 1-2 lbs per week. Exercise, including strength training, while losing. Lose for a few months then maintain your weight for a few before trying to lose again for a few months.

Were those front or back squats, do you know?

rpstrength repost content from clients. I use it for food ideas, not workouts. Try some creative hashtag searches.

This is a can of tuna which, miraculously, is 99% fat free and simultaneously high in omega-3.

Drizzle some Walden Farms Calorie Free Syrup on here and you are good to go.

Come home from work and eat some protein. See if that helps curb the craving. Then pour a splash of wine in some carbonated water (spritzer) and drink that. Or have a glass while doing something else that takes some concentration. For instance, I drink slower when reading.

Greek yogurt is a great snack. I just finished a cup with Walden Farms calorie free syrup. Loaded with protein.

I've followed what I will call nutrition/fitness/gym addicts on instagram and get recipe ideas from what they post. I think there is a recipe section somewhere around here, too. There are healthy ways to keep yourself satisfied and the more of them you find, the more likely you are to succeed. You can't be unsatisfied and…
