  • @skctilidie Happy Birthday!
  • Great job! It's been fun to watch your progress from your first week of keto and the uncertainty of how it all works, to reading about your successes! You got this, girl!
  • Keto Jan SW: 175 Current Weight: 159 June Goal: 157 Goal Weight: 140 Sunday 06/03: 160 Sunday 06/10: 159.5 (06/8) Sunday 06/17:159 Sunday 06/24: 159 Saturday 06/30: Had a weekend at a bluegrass festival this weekend. Took all our own food and was very careful when we ate at restaurants a couple of times. I consider it a…
  • @kpk54 I apologize if I misunderstood you or took something the wrong way. Thank you for explaining! I did not mean to sound dogmatic and judgmental.
  • Nice job, @laneybird!
  • Keto Jan SW: 175 Current Weight: 159 June Goal: 157 Goal Weight: 140 Sunday 06/03: 160 Sunday 06/10: 159.5 (06/8) Sunday 06/17:159 Sunday 06/24: Saturday 06/30: Not complaining at all, just wish it was a little faster loss. But steady as she goes. At this rate I will not hit my June goal, but that's better than gaining!
  • Who is telling you they you can't eat these things? I would go a bit easy on the tomatoes but if it's green it's on the list in my book. Peas are a bit high. Avoid the starchy stuff, i.e., potatoes, and most root vegetables and you should be fine.
  • @stormywxs288 Thank you for that encouraging word! I weighed myself Tuesday morning and I was back down to my Friday weight again. I hope to be even lower by this Friday. Then the weekend hits and it seems like my body just knows I'm going to weigh in Sunday and retains water! Well, I am heading in the right direction even…
  • I'm going to be a bit unorthodox. Last Friday I stepped on the scale in the morning and was so excited to have FINALLY broken through into the 50s. Saturday morning we left for an overnight with some friends out of town and, as is almost always the case, ate not-so-keto-friendly food and drinks. Weighed myself yesterday…
  • Welcome @devinpa ! This is a great place to find encouragement. I started this journey after watching a lot of Dr. Eric Berg's videos on YouTube, so I concur with stormywx that is a good place for a wealth of information.
  • @d_c_lady I know exactly how you feel! My scale didn't move for a month (except up a few pounds when I had a conference to attend). Friday I totally broke though to the 50s before I went out of town for the weekend and now I'm sure I gained a couple. Just stick with it! Increase your calorie deficit for a few days and see…
  • @chinatowninchina I thought about cutting back the calories. I rarely eat more than 1200 in a day and I've heard that if you don't eat enough your body goes into starvation mode and won't give up the weight. I also am quite active with walking and gardening so I always run a calorie deficit. I hadn't thought about just…
  • Ok, so I've hit a wall. I can't seem to break the 160 mark! :s I've been here for a month. Has anyone had a successful experience breaking a plateau? I'd sure like to know what worked for you. Keto Jan SW: 175 Current Weight: 160 June Goal: 157 Goal Weight: 140 Sunday 06/03: 160 Sunday 06/10: Sunday 06/17: Sunday 06/24
  • Hello, fellow Husker! GBR!
  • I'm in again too. I had no overall loss in May, but that's mainly because I had a setback with a week-long conference and travel. My loss has been at a snails pace anyway, maybe 2-3 pounds per month. My goal this month: I will, I will, I WILL make it into the 50s in June! Keto Jan SW: 175 Current Weight: 160 June Goal: 157…
  • @NikkiJRM I totally agree the logging of food is key. When I slacked off on that a few years ago I started gaining again and got very discouraged so just gave up. But that was before I knew anything about keto. Now that I know what actually works for me with keto, it's still an important aspect to keep me on track. I may…
  • @Marcelynh Congratulations on the anniversary and new grandbaby! Welcome back!
  • Well, it doesn't look like I'm going to get to the 50s this month, but the weight I gained last week is gone as I knew it would be. No significant loss this month, which is disappointing for sure, but based on the posts here this week, I'm not the only one. That is very comforting. Thank you all for being so supportive and…
  • @NikkiJRM. Yikes! Too funny!
  • Well, as I suspected, two full days of travel and five days of conferences took their toll, but the good news is, the gain was not as bad as I thought it would be. I had taken a lot of keto-friendly food with us and was able to have some measure of control. I think a lot of the extra weight comes from sitting so much and…
  • @stormywxs288 You rock, man! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to post a victory like that in the next few months!
  • Hi, everyone! A bit late signing in this week, but I have another NSV this week. We went to visit my mom over the weekend and I knew that I was going to have to be somewhat lax in controlling the carbs. I wasn't going to panic if I stepped on the scales this morning and found a few extra pounds attached. Normally after…
  • Welcome! This is a great place to start for support and encouragement! Just curious though, how tall are you? You must be pretty short for a Dr to tell you 120 is where you should be.
  • I actually have a NSV this week! Since I've gone off sugar and carbs about five months ago I've noticed that my skin has changed (for the better). I've had skin tags and moles just dry up and fall off. I've learned that moles and skin tags are a form of benign cancer that feeds on sugar. I'm not eating sugar and carbs…
  • Thank you, Mrs. Hoffer!
  • Back on track after last weekend's carb fest that puffed me all up. Forgive me for my ignorance, I'm not on social media, what is an NSV? My goal for the month is to punch through the 60s and make a dent in the 50s. May 1st - 161 May 6th May 13th May 20th May 27th May 30th Current weight 161 Goal weight 140
  • @River_Goddess Way to go, girl!
  • I don't always check this thread, I've just gotten in the habit of going to the "challenge" thread where we post the progress for the week. I'll repost here what I posted there and make a point to go here more often. @4031isaiah - That's so sad about your uncle. May his memory be a blessing to you. @xDaniDragonflyx - Way…
  • Well, I suspected as much. Last week's gain was just water. It's so nice to know that! I've been reminded again that as long as I have a calorie deficit every day, get some good exercise, and log my food, I WILL lose weight. I had a major cheat meal on Friday evening and had a lot of carbs and sugar that I haven't had in…
  • West central Nebraska. Been doing low carb since last November, but started serious keto in January when the challenge started. Lost 14 pounds so far.
