VERY inspiring! I have the exact same stats and have been sitting at the 155-157 for quite some time. Your current weight is my goal. I keep blaming lack of progress on being older, but truth is I've gotten lazy about logging and the scale reflects that. Time to get serious again! Re: the wine - I've found that adding…

Could it be related to enhanced security MFP is implementing due to data breach? I have been having issues in other areas of MFP (and I see others are, as well).

Happy Easter or Passover if you celebrate these holidays! Only 3 days left to join this challenge!

Awesome! You'll be in good company!

Limit your calories to a minimum of 1200 a day, increase your activity as much as possible and rejoice if that results in an 8-10 lb loss in a month. Buy a new "slimming" bathing suit, a cute cover-up and have a wonderful holiday!

Hey ladies! I'm a little bit younger but not that much (58 in 2 weeks). I have been dieting off and on (mostly on) with my mother who will be 80 this year for most of my life, so I have a good perspective on weight loss as you get older. It's totally doable! In my opinion, the main thing to remember in weight loss as an…

Awesome! Might be a great family "competition" if you all end up on different teams!

Although these are television shows and made to entertain, it's good to remember that these are real people and not actors. That was really driven home when I watched a recent episode of 600 lb life. Robert Buchel was the first cast member to die during the filming of his story. (I'm actually surprised there haven't been…

The show has never actually shown or told the viewers what the daily calorie intake actually was, so it's just an assumption that it's an insane caloric deficit. I remember one episode where the trainers were encouraging the contestants to eat all their calories in order to fuel their workouts, but still no mention of what…

There's still time to join this challenge!

Egg and bacon scramble with a "dollop" of gravy on top. Had breakfast with my husband at a local hotel cafe. OK, the menu actually said "dollop" of gravy, but it should have said "drenched". It was so good but now I have to be super strict for the rest of the day.

I make a super yummy quinoa salad that I use for a base for lots of dishes. I don't use a recipe, but it's basically equal parts rinsed quinoa and water - add salt or other seasonings to the water, bring to boil then turn to simmer for 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Sometimes I cook the quinoa in broth for added…

It is so darn cold here I run out to the composter, dump it quickly and glance longingly at my flowerbeds as I scurry back to the house. I know it's not a snowstorm like they've had on East coast but it's record cold in Oregon for this time of the year. Cold, rainy and windy. Brrrrrr. We are supposed to get up to 60 by…

It will be great fun!

I just discovered Ellenos real Greek yogurt at my local grocery. OMG! The marionberry is absolutely divine! Since it's a whole milk yogurt I had to control myself and stop eating right out of the 16 oz container or I would have finished the whole thing. It's pretty high in calories but the difference in this yogurt and…

That sounds very close to what I ate for dinner last night! However, I cooked the cabbage with diced onion and apple - an old German recipe for sweet and sour cabbage that my mother taught me.

Bacon - 2 pieces! @__TMac__ - that curried chicken sounds delish! I've been craving curry lately, so I'm going to copy you.

Another vote for caffeine withdrawal. It seems your diet is pretty balanced but might need a bit more protein. I simply cannot live life without caffeine. I'm down to just one cup of coffee a day. Without it I will get a migraine that will last for days and I just feel awful in general. Not worth it for whatever supposed…

I've done plenty of wood loading and hauling and it IS hard exercise! I've also hauled rocks around my yard for various planting bed projects and little rock walls. The MFP database doesn't have wood hauling/splitting or rock wall building in their database. LOL You CAN create a custom exercise if it's something you think…

It's sad, but true that menopause and all those changes that come in middle-age sure wreak havoc with our self-esteem. I hit that point of not liking what was looking back at me in the mirror a couple years ago. I'm a bit taller at 5'4" but I sure didn't like what 178 looked or felt like! I'm sure I actually weighed more…

Work out at home barefoot (yoga/pilates) and wait for it to heal completely - no scabbing or peeling at all. You don't want to risk damaging the artwork just for a workout.

@OBXbrit - I was in the 120's when I was much younger and held that for a long time, too. When I hit middle-age I started to gain about 10 lbs a year. While I still want to be a little smaller I don't think I'll ever be that weight again and not sure I want to anymore.

I'll do it. Need to be accountable. Starting weight on MFP: 178 lb Current weight: 155.2 lb Goal weight: 145 lb I've been battling this last 10 pounds for the past 2 years. I got down to 149 last October, but crept back up again. Not sure if I'll ever get to goal without some serious deprivation, but I keep my eye on the…

My husband made me one about 5 years ago. I had totally forgotten that! I need to go find it because I still am going to do some container gardening this year. They totally work to jump-start your seedlings, especially if you have limited space indoors to start seeds. I've had great results using it over the years. Mostly…
