Navy vet as well, you will be amazed at how quick your body will heal and turn around. I was prediabetic, blood pressure, sleep apnea... You get the picture, well all of that has been resolved. Please add and I will be sure to motivate my shipmate along the way!

The fitbit HR is iffy on cardio. Checkout the DCRAINMAKER site, he rates all the wrist gadgets and is a highly regarded source. I utilize the garmin vivofit with a 4iiiii chest strap when I am working out. The HR measure is your most accurate way to record your calorie burn. Cost wise the vivofit is as low as $60 at…

HR monitor will give you a decent idea of calories burned. I use a garmin vivofit with my 4iiii chest strap. My only complaint is it comes across "walked moderate pace... "

I can appreciate the will to fight and I think MFP provides a great tool to track the nutritional side of the house.

Good luck to you friend!

The least expensive option is rest... Its amazing what a week off your feet will do for that issue. You don't need to rest, there is plenty of upper body aerobic activities to keep you going so don't worry.

Wadda what? I differ a little - if you change up the diet and add just 30 minutes of activity and ramp it up as you go along you will drop significant weight the first four weeks. As it tapers, just tack on more activity... If your sedentary now, it's as easy as walking for 30 minutes and change it up to 45 minutes after a…
