I love coffee! I drink, on average, a cup a day. It's usually an eight ounce cup of Starbucks French Roast with a tablespoon of International Delight creamer (various flavors). An eight ounce cup is only about 40 calories. On occasion, I do take my coffee black and I really appreciate a good cup of black coffee, but I…

You can do it! It will be difficult at times, but just keep telling yourself that you can do it! Keep working toward your goals. Congratulations on taking the first step!

Good job! I know how you feel. Had the same experience earlier this week. Keep up the good work. It's worth it!

Banana is not my favorite fruit, but I need to eat more...I need the potassium (and I need to eat more fruit). I am going to try this. I love ice cream (and Talenti gelato). Hopefully, I will like this also. Thanks, for sharing.

This is a good question. I have had this problem as well and I have only been on this journey for 3 months. In the beginning, you suffer through learning to eat more nutritiously and within your daily calorie goal. However, there are days (even when you have gotten pretty good at tracking/logging your food), that you may…

Great job! Thanks for demonstrating that slow and steady does work. Agree. ^ Have fun!

In part, thanks to some of the wonderful and open individuals on MFP, I am a little less terrified of criticism....so long as it is an honest critique. Thanks again. :)

I weigh myself daily. I only "weigh in" on MFP if there is a change. If I am on a plateau for two weeks, then I do not make a change on MFP until then. However, happily what I see on the scale, while it may be a little disheartening at times, is not a major issue for me at this point in my journey. It it becomes one, I…

Another important factor: price. FitBits are not cheap. There are several models, each with different uses/features. Prices range from about $60 to $250. So if you choose a FitBit, only pay for one with the features that you find useful. Save any extra $$ to treat yourself once you've reached your goal. :)

I have the FitBit Charge HR. I have only had it for 2 weeks and I am loving it. I upgraded from the FitBit One (which I also loved) because I wanted the added benefit of having a heart rate monitor. I did not want want a heart rate monitor that I had to strap to my chest each time I wanted to exercise. The FitBit Charge HR…

Thanks! I think that I'll try this as soon as I use up my current jar of strawberry jam. How long does this usually last (stored in the refrigerator)?

Congratulations! That supportive hubby along with your great sense of humor will help keep you moving forward.

I agree with the above. I started with the Ultra (which I believe they have stopped making). It was a gift. Then upgraded to the One (added features: bluetooth connectivity and an altimeter). Both the Ultra and the One are small and for me were easily worn.. clipped to my bra strap). I loved them both. Since, I recently…

Good luck! You can do it. Just keep plugging away at it each day.

Thank you for sharing your idea. I make something similar to that when I am craving "real" pizza, but do not want to sacrifice the calories/carbs/fat, etc.

Happy Birthday!

:) Enjoy your Fitbit!

Do you have your Fitbit linked to MFP? Do you consistently log your meals into MFP? I am asking this for a couple of reasons: 1) The Fitbit calories burned that you see are the total calories burned during the calendar day...that includes all daily activity, even sleep; and 2) if your Fitbit and MFP are linked and you also…

I also use filtered water. Makes a big difference in the taste of the coffee, especially if you drink your coffee black. Btw, Chivalryder and those of you who may have tasted coffee prepared using a french press and tasted coffee prepared using an Aero Press, is there a noticeable difference in the two end products?

100% Kona is my favorite! Jamaica Blue Mountain is the runner up. However, these are two of the more expensive beans, so they are a treat. My everyday coffee is Starbucks French Roast (whole beans that I grind). My mother taught me to appreciate a good strong cup of coffee, so I like the control that a french press…
