  • @BinaryFu - thank you so much! It's had its ups and downs, but for as many times as I'm down, I always get up one more time.. As far as seeing the new lady in the mirror - man. That's been an ever changing work in progress. I keep photos and my "IG Journal" specifically to help me see the change. The mental game is very…
  • Thanks @BekahC1980!! ;) Thanks @lauraemily84 - LOL @ blunt! All good. I had a breast lift done to help out. I was a 42-44F when I started so I had a lot of damaged skin/breast tissue when I'd hit my goal weight and maintained it for 2 years. (My normal goal weight is 155lbs in the off season when not bulking.) I'm…
  • Thank you @Syneea ..! I work legs two or three times a week throughout the off season and twice a week during competitive cutting. They always come in early, it's my core I struggle with because that's where I've always kept most of my weight. Thank goodness that's coming in early this prep too..!
  • Thank you @snowflake930 ..! I'm definitely thrilled with where I'm at right now. It's been a long road to get to this point, and not without its highs and lows. I'm looking forward to a successful contest and hitting that big 300lb lift this year!
  • Sounds like you're on the right track.. I agree with @TavistockToad - weight/resistance training changed my entire body. I'd also recommend ensuring that you're getting 10-12 cups of water a day to keep your body well hydrated with all of your activity :) Good luck and keep up the consistent good work!
  • Back to the grind here in Canada - we had our celebrations and long weekend last weekend. I'm in active contest prep right now, so discipline is pretty high. Some people don't like dieting in the summer, but I prefer it. I like to eat and hibernate in the winter. Haha .. I sent my daughter off to her dad's for the summer…
  • Feel free to add me too, guys!! I'm a competitive athlete and mother of an 11 year old girl, who is also an athlete. (Our whole family is actually in competitive athletics of one sort or another) I'm a foodie and a fat loser (-110lbs) and always looking for people to share the journey with...!
  • Thanks for the warm welcome @jkhoffe ..! I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys! I hope everyone has a safe and happy long weekend. <3
  • I live the "if it fits in your macros" lifestyle, and have for 4 years. I've lost and kept off 110lbs by not restricting foods that I love (I'm dieting for a bodybuilding show right now and I eat frozen yogurt and pie filling pretty much every day). I don't feel the necessity for a "cheat meal" as a result, because I eat…
  • Hello  My name is Kait and I'm a competitive bodybuilder and fat loser of -110lbs. I saw this thread and I'm pretty much in love with it and all of you folks. I'm from Canada (Happy Canada Day!!) and love to lift big things, eat the good food and stay active after transforming my whole life through nutrition and…
  • Sent you an invite beauty! Anyone else who wants some loving feedback in helping manage their personal change can also feel free to add me (I'm actually a change management expert in my professional career..!). I'm a no-BS competitive bodybuilder who's lost 110lbs and kept it off..! I have lots of motivation to share and…
  • Another great exercise is deadlifting. It's a total body movement - it'll help transform your body from neck to calves - deadlifting, squatting, benching and rowing have changed my whole body in the past two years. No more mum-bum here! Here's a website with some neat alternatives:…
  • You guys are intense.
  • I don't obsess (anymore!) - I usually over estimate and log on the liberal side and enjoy myself in instances like this. I'd rather over-estimate and maybe eat a little less than over eat ..
  • Congratulations OP! It sounds like you've met great success with a few adjustments. Keep it up, it's not easy, but its always so worth it. I'm a traveling consultant and deal with the same types of concerns.. So I get it..!
  • Feel free to add me too..! Open to any and all folks.
  • You guys are smart..! Love the suggestions. I stick to my caloric goals and live life within them.. I practice IIFIYM so I seldom feel any type of deprivation from food or alcohol. When I dine out, I plan and just keep it on the lighter side or meal share with others. It takes a bit of planning sometimes, but it's worth it…
  • Eating will give your body a boost and getting some movement in there will give your mind a boost .. <3 take care.

  • Well done! Congratulations on all of your hard work and success!!!
  • Totally reasonable - hold yourself accountable, log your food, drink your water, get some time outside in the beautiful summer air and enjoy the journey. I'm down over 100lbs and honestly didn't think I could do it or sustain it either. Believe in yourself and get after it miss, you can do it!!
  • I eat an hour to 45 minutes pre-workout .. Usually a small bowl of Cheerios and almond milk or a bit of apple and peanut butter. I'm the type that without the extra carbs, I have a difficult time performing and maximizing on my workouts, which defeats the purpose for me as a bodybuilder or in my personal weight loss goals…
  • Doing business in north Jersey (Bergen County area) .. I'm down frequently from Western Canada! Cold and rainy this morning...!!!
  • This is an inspiring thread!! I'm a 100lbs+ loser - I've kept it off for a few years now and am very consistent on MFP and am happy to lend advice, recipes, motivation and support to anyone who'd like it! Congratulations to all of your for starting your journey ... It's not easy every day, but it's the most rewarding…
  • This is exactly it for me too.. I changed my perspective on life and what was important.. and weight loss became a part of that picture for me. Since losing an excess of 100lbs, my self confidence (while not really hampered when I was overweight) has really blossomed, my relationships have all improved as a result, my…
  • I have egg whites and toast each morning. But on weekends, I make big egg frittatas and make French toast waffles to reheat during the week with sourdough rye or a wheat bread. If I do the egg white frittata and one or two slices of French toast waffles, it's usually around a 300 calorie breakfast and I feel full until…
  • I eat a variety of foods (open journal - feel free to add me). I generally eat the same thing over and over once I find something I like. I food jag a lot  I really enjoy my egg whites, chicken, elk, bison and other leaner proteins & I have a protein lava cake every day with chocolate chips.. (A day without cake is a…
  • I post a ton of food and recipe ideas on my Instagram (@kait_dee) - but here are a few of my faves recently: 1) Chocolate protein lava cake & spinach pizza 2) pita pizza w/Black Forest ham, green peppers & tomatoes 3) spicy baked chicken breast and sweet peppers
  • Binge behaviour is actually not solely triggered by the lack or introduction of sodium/sugar - but rather it's a lack of serotonin, often caused by the hypothalamus in the brain. Serotonin levels are managed by appropriate amounts of tryptophan in the body, which is mainly introduced via high protein foods such as salmon,…
  • Great job, Dan! It sounds like your approach is a good one. Keep it up..!
  • I'm a competitive bodybuilder and a fat loser (-110lbs) and went through this on the initial stages of my journey and go through it annually between competitive seasons. I tend to purchase items that are scalable in my closet, such as leggings and tank tops and then have a variety of tops to go over the tanks that fit me…
