Dry, heavy red wines (Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot) or Bushmills or Jack on the rocks.

I have 3 weeks to go in the office weight loss contest. I'm 3 lbs. from my goal after losing 10 and they won't seem to go away. There's both money and pride on the line so I've reached the "desperate times" phase. I'll back off when the cash is in my pocket.

I just don't see how a fat guy like me is going to run out of fuel any time soon.

NET calories? I'd have to eat around 2000 calories. Too much!

I'm on an MFP program of 1500 calories per day. I also take a spinning class on Mondays, do 45 minutes on an elliptical every Friday morning and either power walk 2-3 miles or cycle > 15 miles on 3 other days of the week. I try to avoid eating my exercise calories and still keep my intake between 1200 and 1500 per day but,…

I have the Map My Ride version on my phone but, comparing it with friends' copies of Map My Walk, Map My Run, Map My Whatever, etc., it looks like they're all exactly the same package with different color schemes. I do really like the convenience of having the calories burned on a workout that you've tracked with those…

It looks to be in line with my A300. I did 32 minutes on an elliptical yesterday and I see 309 calories on mine.

I wear gloves to spin because my hands get sweaty and I have to hold the handlebar tighter if I don't.

I stream Pandora's Metallica channel. Metal keeps me moving.

I just bought the Polar A300 with their H7 heart rate transmitter. I like it a lot so far. The A300 is a nice movement sensor and the H7 can send heart data to the A300, my Android phone, or exercise equipment at the gym. Cost about $130 for the package.

I use Map My Ride on my phone as a bike computer and then have the exercise data automatically transferred to MFP.

Maybe it's because I'm a white guy originally from Detroit but I do best with loud, nasty rock 'n roll and heavy metal. I generally stream the Metallica channel from Pandora although sometimes I get a tad more modern and do the Nightwish channel.

The elliptical will be much easier on your knees than either of the other two choices.

If you want some good riding tights for not a lot of money check http://zimcoimport.com/. I'm not an employee of theirs, just a very satisfied customer. I bought the unpadded tights and just wear bike shorts under them. They're in their third season and holding up great.

I spin once a week if I can ride for real, twice if I can't. I rode to work a couple of times a week last year, but our office has relocated to a place that will be a difficult ride. Still considering different routes. My latest real ride was a very sloppy 16 mile trail ride this weekend. I did just over 1000 miles between…
