You are right where you need to be: MFP has changed the game for me in getting my health in order!!! Friend some active/goofy/real members you enjoy talking to: THIS is a long journey and worth every minute, might as well enjoy it with supportive friends!!! 2 years and counting here...

My advice would be start slowly: small sustainable changes add up!! This isn't an all or nothing journey. Often times 1 slip up would leave me feeling like failure and I would simply give up. These missteps are your FAIL (First Attempt In LEARNING). :)

oooh! Good one!! I don't have scale anxiety anymore, because I do weigh every day...and because I count calories I already know where my weight is and any difference is definitely due to hydration changes: I once gained 8 lbs over night...did a little math (8x3500) and knew there's no way I was that far off in my…

I'm finding myself an APARTMENT ASAP!!!

2 years, course that was after resetting my goal weight a few times. But yes 2 years is the time I would say it took for my thinking/lifestyle/choices to catch up with my goals. MUCH longer than I thought, but it's been years of trial and error to find what exactly worked for me. Now, the choices that I make ARE me, there…
-
Yes you can: I never upgraded...I just use the app on my phone. :)
-
Recomp is wonderful! That said: it's a VERY SLOW process and for those who are used to the mini-victories the scale brings, it can be a very disheartening. Stick to your calorie counts, weigh everything, hide the scale...and start measuring for progress. :)
-
Almost every day I indulge in something....and I still lose weight. It's a fraction of my daily calories and for me worth working these tiny treats in!! So ice cream it is!!!
-
I don't have a zip, but I have a fitbit and at first my calorie burns were way off: it will sync to you so keep wearing it and you'll notice more accurate burns over time. I think my first day I wore my fitbit it said I had earned 948 calories from exercise!! CRAZY!! It's right on the money now!

How those "NEW" bones I would find being at an average weight would affect me: I literally have bruises on the inside of my knees from sleeping on my side...also how cold I am all the time = BOO.
-
You LADIES LOOK FANTASTIC!! Might motivate me to actually take "during" photos!! ;)
-
Very little cardio here: mainly strength training and lifting and I would place my maintenance around 1850-1900.
-
The biggest mistake: trying to stay at 1200 calories. It's not sustainable-not for me at least! Now I shoot for 1200, but end up around 1400-1600 and my cheat days= maintenance calories. It took the pressure off of "failing" and just seem to make everything click for me...AND A FOOD SCALE: it's a huge eye opener. I found…
-
WELCOME!! I have been here 2 years (as of YESTERDAY!!) Counting for me really is about awareness. :) Good luck and if you need peeps to join your journey: add me!

I don't drink cow's milk: that said I absolutely fit in almond milk as it's a lower calorie alternative and a great source of calcium!! BUT: I should say that I'm a big believer of NOT drinking your calories..meaning juice of any kind, alcohol, and yes unfortunately sometimes milk fall in there as well (especially if I…

You are doing all the right things: #1. It might just be increased water retention due to the change in your activity: keep it up!! #2. Food scale. This is something I wish I had invested in from the get-go...finding out pre-packaged items were actually heavier (and thus higher in calories) than the individual serving size…

1. I don't necessarily desire to lose weight: I want to keep up with my kids, be more active, eat more homemade foods and less prepackaged products that make me feel terrible, and I want to inspire my kids to do the same. Lead by example I guess. If weight loss comes with this new lifestyle I'm choosing: great! If not, I'm…

**THIS!! Even pre-packaged/pre-weighed food should be weighed on your own personal scale at home before eating...especially when you don't have a lot to lose. You'd be surprised at how far off those measurements are! And high sodium foods can easily hide any weight you did lose simply by holding onto excess water instead.

Betty Crocker- Double Chocolate Oatmeal Bar is my go to. It's super filling and tastes like a cross between a cookie and a brownie! It's 150 calories, but with how filling and satisfying it is: I can eat JUST ONE and it holds my appetite so it's a WIN-WIN for me!
-
I don't drink a lot of alcohol anymore...usually though it's because 1. I have no tolerance anymore and 2. I can't control my food choices once I have a couple. The worst advice: That you should EAT MORE to break your weight-loss plateau/jump start your metabolism. Just NO.

An all natural combination of vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, anti-oxidants, enzymes, pro-biotics, and amino acids...it is used to help supplement the nutritional gap that can exist in even a balanced diet.
-
Nearly everyone supplements nowadays. Calcium, Vitamin D, Iron, Fish Oil, and Daily Women's...that was mine before Thrive. With a 96% absorption rate, I'm willing to pay a little more over the non-absorbable crap they sell at Walmart. I KNOW that Thrive has benefitted me: I have spent years covering my discomforts with…

I think it's just time to find a new goal: many take this opportunity to think about what they would like to do fitness-wise, because the biggest thing about hitting maintenance for me: boredom. No mini-daily victories to keep me moving. Non-scale victories then become even more important. Running x min mile...# of pull…

She was looking for feedback on the product itself, which is what I gave. You missed the point of my post: "that it's a shame that that's the way that it's marketed." "I STILL COUNT CALORIES = Without a deficit YOU. WILL. NOT. LOSE."
-
I will chime in since I've been a calorie counter since March 2014. I take Thrive...but Thrive isn't a weight loss product, so it's a shame that that is the way that it's marketed. It's a nutrition supplement: AKA vitamins/minerals. For me, the benefits that I get from taking it: more motivation to hit the gym, better…

THIS is what I strive for!! You look fabulous, confident, and can't wait to see your again "AFTER" photos in a year!! Keep doing you!
-
I log whenever I step on the scale and I'm down: some days I'm up and I usually don't log them because weight fluctuates up and down all the time. Focus on downward trends. That said: if it's been a month and I'm still up: I log it and reign my calories back in.
-
HW: highest weight SW: starting weight CW: current weight GW: goal weight

Welcome back!! I am not a stranger as well, but after many stops and starts, I found a great group of MFP friends who have inspired me to be better and do better...and have kept me consistently logging in. Stick with it!

I don't force myself to drink water..but I find I naturally crave it: not everyone is wired the same or needs the same amount of water. That said: often "hunger pains," I actually find are that I'm thirsty. So stay hydrated: whatever that means for you!
