  • I am going to add weightlifting to my workout routine. I will try for three times a week. It would be a major win if this could become a habit for me because I have been very resistant to working with the weights consistently.
  • I am very happy for you! Enjoy your success!
  • I will definitely add a pickle. That sounds yummy. Kirkor is right, that is just the burger with no bun. Unfortunately, I have to count calories because I passed the magic age of 50 and therefore life is a calorie counting fiesta. Only one bubba burger for me!
  • Ah! When a post starts with "10 pounds gone" it is a grand and wonderful day! Congratulations!
  • https://www.womentowomen.com/insulin-resistance/what-is-insulin-resistance/ Have you guys seen this? I have been doing a little bit of research, and found some Institute of health studies on postmenopausal women and insulin resistance. I will post the summaries when I get to my computer later today. But, this article seems…
  • I am certainly not an expert, but I do know that a lot of people here have had stellar results in managing blood sugar spikes on this WOE. Have you had a chance to read through The links posted at the top of this board? The people with a lot of experience have posted many videos and other links there that you might find…
  • @bride and @miche congratulations! It is wonderful news for both of you. I also appreciate you posting your successes. I am on a two month stall. I can't quit, because I need to lose the weight. But, to see your success gives me hope! :-)

  • Congratulations! That is wonderful!
  • Welcome! Best of luck to you on your journey!
  • @jane I would be grateful to you for doing the research on post meno ladies. I have been wondering if it is even possible to lose the jelly belly. And the weight loss is so excruciatingly slow that it is very, very difficult to stay with the plan.
  • I love that your shorts fit! Congratulations! Anyone else who looks into their summer closet and can fit into their shorts should post it here :-)
  • Great! I am happy for you!
  • This is definitely glorious!!!!!!

  • You guys are making me hungry! :-)
  • I take a high quality Acidophilus probiotic every day to address the issues you're talking about. After dropping my daily yogurt in order to go low-carb, I was running into some serious gut problems. You are smart to drop the dairy to test to see if that causes the bloating. Also, I can have that reaction to Broccoli.

  • All of your responses have helped keep me on track. I have not gotten my longed for 'whoosh' yet but I am staying firm on my LCHF WOE. I got this from another low carb site. I thought it was an interesting explanation that may help other people who are stuck in a stall. PISS (post induction stall syndrome) is NO REASON TO…
  • I love blackberries. I hope your weekend was great!
  • Kris. Show us a picture of the new jacket!
  • I second that!
  • Have you added or changed any vitamins/supplements in the last two weeks?
  • That is spectacular! I am so happy for you!
  • I am very interested in Alisa's answer about how she reached her goal. I have been fit at times in my life but I have never been able to do many push-ups and never a full pull-up. I am trying to head in that direction by concentrating on planks during yoga and slooowwwwlllly lowering into cobra.
  • Hi, Isabelle! I just caught up on the weekend posts!!! Girl! Your pictures are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a huge difference! You must feel great. The photos really show the weight loss! Without being creepy, I have total shoulder and arm envy! You look toned, strong and sexy! Alisa - Yipeeeeeee on the pull up! You made a…
  • I hope some of the knowledgeable posters will respond to your question. I am having a similar experience with the sleepiness. I also suffered from insomnia for 10 years but that was cured when I went gluten-free two years ago. Now, I am trying to get back into ketostis (after a rice binge this weekend) and I am falling…
  • If it is an actual cold caused by the rhinovirus - then no, it would not be gluten. But be warned that the auto immune response to gluten for many people is sinus pain and congestion with a runny nose. I think that you will be able to look back and gas whether or not it was a head cold or a reaction. I'm sorry for your…
  • I really enjoy my fitbit. It helps me track activity as well as sleep. Which becomes very important when I have an unexplained weight gain, a lot of times it relates to poor sleep. I would like a subgroup here, being low-carb high-fat might garner negative attention in the regular fit bit group.

  • Hi all, I have not been posting while I have been on vacation but I have been following all of your successes. Kris,I am so happy for your success/huge weight loss/new scale! How fun is that? I spent seven days with my mother and then two days with my best friend. The time was mostly spent chatting and laughing and eating…
  • CHIPOTLE!!!!! Yum!
  • I can expect four days of intestinal hell after ingesting gluten. Like many others here, the ancillary side effects can last up to a week. I hope you start feeling better soon.
  • I agree with Kitnthecat. It is hard, very hard at first. That is why I suggested the alternatives. But, as you go along you find so many wonderful things that you can eat and that do not make you sick! Being low carb and gluten-free has made me so happy! For the first time in 13 years I am not ill. Trade-offs are so worth…
