Sounds like me, 50 5'6 at the top of my BMI, my size 8 start to feel big. Before I hit midpoint I'm in a size 4. I would look horrible at the low end of BMI. To be honest I am happy to be anywhere between top of BMI and midpoint, because my blood work is great and insurance/work wellness programs back off. In terms of your…

Depends on your mindset. My job is sedentary, I try to mix this up so calorie burn due to activity is the not same day after day. On the days that life gets in the way, I don't want a large negative which is way more annoying than a large positive to me. A try to mix things up because exercise plateaus are as darn annoying…

Look at all the blogs and post about under eating no doing you weight loss program any favors and there are articles related to people who exercises to such a level it rises to the same level as an eating disorder. Typically you only run into this with "weight loss programs" that guarantee outrageous weekly weight loss...…

Everyone has what works for the but I'm less hungry went I mostly eat high quality food and err on the side of protein. The more crap I eat the more crap I crave because it isn't meeting my body's needs.

Yes everything that goes in that has yet to go out impacts what you see on the scale. Assuming you are making the right food choices so you have enough fiber, upping your water can sometimes help move things along. Constipation also can occur it you are too aggressive on you calories/exercise and put your body in…

Vary your calories based on your activity level for the day

I too have a desk job and a standing desk, it is better for you but doesn't burn as many calories as you might hope. I too take the stairs. I set my settings to sedentary, wear a Fit Bit Surge and turned negative calories in mfp. I log my food but rely on the fit bit for the calorie burn. This allows me to see how many…

Get rid of them. Keeping them means that you don't believe you can keep it off. You can!

Not strange at all, I got one half way through weight loss as a reward...

Some employers allow for standing cubes. Mine does but they only have the ability to raise the desktop permanently at my location so you really have to commit to it because you can't adjust it down without power tools :) It takes a while before most people can stand for a full shift if they keep practical shoes on their…

Have you checked your goals on both MFP and Fitbit to make sure they are both on maintaining? In the zone is within 50 calories of your calorie target so if Fitbit is set to "easy" weight loss and you're eating maintenance you'll always be red because you no longer need to be in a deficit but Fitbit settings make it think…

Quality of your food matters. You'll be healthier in the long run if you make healthier choices more often than not. You need to explore more foods and cooking techniques if you equate healthy food with less enjoyable food.

Goal weight continues to be 145, would be ok to remain as low as 140 but much beyond that and even thin people start to comment about me losing too much...

We take active biking and hiking vacations too. We make a big effort not to eat all meals in restaurants by staying at places with at least a kitchenette. Breakfast and lunch are typically easiest to do. When we do go out we frequently like to split because we like similar things, hate throwing away food and know portions…

Not sure looking at some I wonder how you could set it to enough tension to make a big difference.

Stress is an enormous factor. Exercise is a big stress reliever. Yes, easier said than done...

Water has a big impact for me something if I am retaining water, drinking more water than usual triggers me to flush the excess. Water is also good when BMs get stuck. The day I went from 142 AM to 145 PM to 140.8 the following AM that was what I was doing.

Weight fluctuates a great deal. Every once in a while I weigh first thing in the morning and again at bedtime. Yesterday was one of those days. I was 5 pounds heavier at night and woke up 1.8 pounds lighter the following morning. I look for trends based an my AM weight and don't over think the fluctuations over the day.

I've been riding for 26 years the best saddle I've ridden is a Brookes saddle. Nothing conforms to you better than leather. Contrary to popular belief I did not experience any break in period, it was better that my previous sit bone fit saddle from day 1. However no saddle will NOT compensate for a poorly fit bike and most…

I have a standing cube at work. I can tell you that calorie difference is minor. It is really good for posture and attentiveness.

Love my Schwalbe tires. They have held up well on some crappy road conditions, only flat I've had one them was due to a roofing nail. I don't think any tires I have ridden could have taken that.

Ditto. This group is devoted to bicycle travel from just getting started to more hard core touring. I've done one of their van supported, one of their self supported and used their maps on non supported trip. I'm sure they offer a new to touring trip too. They've been around for a long time, 39 years...

I've read many of your posts on the community site and figure you'd be the type of cyclist who would typically blow by me on any terrain, when you mentioned you were useless on 8% grades, I had to do a double take. I do not live anywhere close to places that have long grades, just a few short steep grades. I have ridden…

I used to live near the Kathy trail, it is a great resource for people. I personally prefer more up and downs than rail to trails provides. Have been doing week long rides for years. Did the Bicycle Tour of Colorado this year. When I retire want to go coast to coast.

No it is supposed to be healthier than sitting.

I like to go for a 15-20 mile bike ride.

I had my cube at work configured at work as a standing cube last September. It took me a while but now I only sit down at lunch. No it doesn't burn noticeably more calories but I do notice that I'm more alert, my posture is better and I don't feel the need to sit much after work.

I like NUUN tablets but there are several good options out there. You can get them online I'm sure but I get them at Whole Foods or Hyvee.

What you look good at varies from person to person. Look at my profile pic, do you think I would look better 22 pounds lighter? That what it would take to get to 125...
