I would've never noticed that. :D

Huge hugs to you and your dad. <3

More like the end of the nightmare. :D

At the end of the day, each person has to figure out what works for them. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to weight management. The only time I get my back up is when someone insists that their way is the only way, or ascribes magical properties/benefits to their method that simply aren't true. :)

That is precisely why you shouldn't rely on the database. If there isn't an entry that matches the nutrition label on whatever you're eating, make your own. If there is no nutrition label, go and do a search for the item on the usda website. This is the only way to ensure accuracy. :)

Shades of Y2K. <nods>

@IwillLOSE40kg - Update, please?

Nope. It can actually be harmful. https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/pink-himalayan-sea-salt-an-update/

Weight loss/gain/maintenance is 100% about the amount of calories you consume *over time* and not about when in the day you consume them.

But if they're growing cash crops for, um, cash, wouldn't that then give them the means with which to provide for their family? Or couldn't they also just keep a 'garden patch' for themselves? <confused>
-
It is? How so?
-
I've watched paint dry. Does that count as focus?
-
Measuring is not the same as weighing. Are you weighing everything you consume?

Or the second doctor is equally incompetent. It could go either way. Depends on what these proposed injections are and the reasoning behind them.

^^This. OP, we need more info to give you accurate replies. Based on what you *have* told us, my current reaction is, "Run!" Oh, and get another doctor. ;)

@AnnPT77 I have never heard of nor seen lemon cucumbers. Would love to try them!

"Is eating chicken and broccoli for every meal dangerous?" For me, yes, because I'd die of sheer boredom. ;) That aside, I agree that although chicken and broccoli is good, it's far from nutritionally complete on its own. What else would you be eating in a typical day?

Thanks!

Not healthy, not sustainable, not without long-term risk.

Just curious - why do these go on sale at that time? Is there a traditional St. Patrick's Day dish that these are used in or something?
-
Or in the virtue-signalling that seems to be the hallmark of some enthusiasts? ;) I dunno. To me it's just another tool to perhaps help reduce daily caloric intake to facilitate weight loss. The spells and incantations merely promote book sales or blog hits. :D *Disclaimer - I've been doing IF for decades. A caloric…

Weight loss happens primarily in the kitchen - you simply can't out-exercise your fork. Buy a food scale - the best $20 you'll ever spend on your health. Calories rule! Eat the foods you love, just less of them. Deprivation didn't work for me. The above did. :)
-
I do the same in season, but if local isn't available, I'll buy either frozen or flown in because, at the end of the day, it still supports a farmer somewhere.
-
Are you eating it raw? If not, you're overcooking it. No idea how long before they sell out. Sorry.
-
Was there a nutrition label on the bag, or did you buy loose? I always use the gram weight when available, because "one" or "two" potatoes is incredibly inaccurate and ounces aren't metric.
-
I've used it and it's fine, especially in stir frys.
-
Buy frozen? They are harvested and flash-frozen at their peak, and can oft times be more nutritious than 'fresh' anyway.
-
Your stomach can only hold so much. Filling it to the brim - be it with food or water - can trigger heartburn if you're so prone. Also, why are you drinking so much water at work in the first place, and looking to increase it even further?
-
Terrible idea. Full stop.
-
Just do it anyway. You'll know, and that's what matters, here. B)
