When I feel like that I eat something if I have leftover calories for the day. Why not? You’ll still lose weight when you’re in a calorie deficit, whether you consume the calories at night or in the light of day.

I thought I had a set point too. I started MFP and lost weight by consistently logging my food as accurately as possible. Voila! No set point!!

I have some loose skin, but since I don’t walk around in a bikini it doesn’t really bother me. I have more energy and can enjoy more activities now since I’m no longer fat. I’m grateful that my body is capable of so much more!

I had to switch from my new memory foam pillow back to a traditional one because of headaches and neck stiffness.

Maybe she's offended, taking your change in eating habits as a criticism of her cooking. Maybe she feels shunned. Maybe she feels your workouts are taking away from time you used to spend together. I dunno. You could offer to take walks in the park with her on the days you don't workout. It's a good opportunity to talk…

Nope. You just over-ate. Maybe it's a signal you are cutting too many calories during the day. Maybe you were bored. Eat more filling lunches and drink more water.

It certainly isn't boring for you to add a bigger spectrum of food to your life. You can always say that you're bored eating the same old fast food. Or you could just shrug it off with a smile. A lot of moms and grandmothers equate showing their love for a child with giving food. So you've thrown them off their game. Tell…

Trust the number. You'll see results.

@veggiesnyoga I guess I should have told you how things turned out! The first antidepressant worked okay for a while, but then the doctor listened to my feedback and switched me to a second one which really did the trick. I went to one counselor for about two months. I discussed my old relationship, eating issues, stress…

Glad to hear you're starting the Couch to 5K program. Not only will it help improve your fitness, a nice jog is a good stress reliever! I found that when I started running I began thinking of food as fuel for my runs. That helped me avoid junky choices. But here's a head's-up: only you can hold you accountable.

Do you exercise? Do you log it? Your goal might be 1600 calories a day, but MFP recommends you eat back calories earned through exercise. So if you burn 400 calories, hitting 2000 calories for the day is right on target.

Breaking off an engagement is a shattering experience and a tough thing to get through. It's common to experience post-surgery depression, especially when recuperating keeps you from activities you enjoy. To top it all off, you are completely isolated and don't even have daily interaction with coworkers. And then there's…

Can you take daily walks? It's a low impact way to keep active. My doctor told me when I was pregnant that it was not the time to concentrate on weight loss, but eating proper nutrients for the child's development and to keep my energy up.

I'm 57 years old, and started MFP in May 2017. I lost 30 pounds and have maintained at that weight. The "secret diet" is accurate logging of the foods I like, incorporating more vegetables, decreasing consumption of high calorie foods like nuts (which used to be my go-to snack until I learned 10 cashews equal 150…

You don't have to stop eating at 7. I eat some snacky foods while watching TV at night, but I make sure I don't exceed my calories for the day. I still lose weight. It sounds to me that as soon as 7:00 pm hits, you feel deprived and rebel against this random rule. Cut yourself some slack, and enjoy your food whenever you…

Have you joined a gym? Can you take a weight lifting class or consult with a personal trainer? Sounds like you've been very successful with weight loss. I guess at this point if it were me I'd aim to lose a pound a week. But I've never set a time deadline for my weight loss goals...

There's that old phrase about being in love "now she's fat and happy." Your husband loves you just the way you are, so you're telling yourself there's no reason to make a change. But your excess weight bugs you. Lose the weight and maintain your new habits. You may end up happier with yourself for developing the…

Nuts. A single serving of cashews is a mere 10 nuts for 150 calories. I used to eat them by the handful because they are a healthy food.

My husband's coworker had the surgery. He lost weight and has kept it off for at least five years. The key was he strictly followed the post-surgery eating advice his surgeon gave him. A woman I know had the same procedure and piled on the weight she'd lost because she kept eating and eating. You might consider following…

Buy some food to cook. If you chose chicken and broccoli, search online for recipes that use those ingredients. Add the word "quick" if you're pressed for time. Have spices on hand to experiment with. And pack a good lunch and snacks to put in your backpack. You'll save money and not be so tempted to eat out. Oh, and the…

I can't really imagine the stress and worry you must have experienced! Certainly it's understandable that you'd have no mental energy left to concentrate on weight loss. I'm so glad to hear your son's surgery went well. Just pick up where you left off and you'll lose the extra pounds. Best of luck!

It's truly annoying! Yesterday my sister said, from across a room full of people, "I hope you're not planning to lose any more weight, you're looking too skinny already." I said, "well, it's my body so I guess I'll make my own decisions." Probably not the best comeback but it's all I had when she publicly put me on the…

You might need to talk to your doctor about medication.

I don't believe in thievery so I don't "steal" my husband's sweets. I pretend it is poisonous. I grab an apple and eat it. Or I save up enough calories for the day to consume a portion of the treat. Works for me.
-
I just drink Coke Zero once in awhile without guilt. I read not long ago that these no-calorie sweeteners can stimulate a craving for sweets or something like that. Doesn't seem to do that to me.

Think about shopping for clothes during the after Christmas sales. You will feel much better once you find yourself some clothes that fit you at the weight you are at now. No need to walk around feeling dowdy while you seek to improve yourself.

How about that song by Chumbawamba, with the lyrics "I get knocked down but I get up again." ?

A friend told me that having sex more often helps decrease appetite.
