I reversed my diabetes from 2/2015 with A1C of 10.3 to now 4.8 off all medications. I cut down significantly on starches and other high glycemic index foods (breads, pasta, potatoes, grains, rice, etc) and now most of my carbs are fruits and vegetables and low glycemic index carbs, but I don't have to go low carbs... I eat…

I was diagnosed with diabetes t2 last year with A1C of 10.3. Getting a diagnosis of diabetes actually SAVED my life. It was the motivation I needed to adopt a healthy approach to food, lose weight through CICO and start regular exercise. Since then I've lost over 80 pounds and have been taken off all diabetic and blood…

I always prelog the next day at least sometimes more. Helps keep the macros where I want them.

I started with 130+ pounds to lose and am down 80 in little over a year. It's hard at first but when you start to see (or feel) the progress, it gives you huge motivation to continue. Like other have said: get a food scale and weigh everything; I started a regular exercise routine and the hard work at exercise helps…

I really need this.... I do great during the day but have been over-eating in the PM a lot lately and blowing my calorie goals for the day. April Goal: No snacking after 8pm... unless after working out and only if calories left!!

From 2/15 to 2/16, lost 75lbs..... - lowered A1C from 10.3 to 4.8 - glucose from 285 to 96 - triglycerides from 726 to 71 - cholesterol to normal levels - off diabetes medication - off blood pressure medication - feel 10000000% better ** still have about 50lbs to lose  -

Thank you all for the input. Your comments were very helpful.

I think Dr. are aggressive with meds/insulin for diabetics because most do not do a great job managing with diet and exercise and at least the meds can slow the progression of the disease. If they waited for all patients to control with diet and exercise they'd be waiting a long time and risking irreversible damage the…

Yes, you can reverse or be a self managed diabetic if you lose weight. I've lost 70lbs so far and am off all diabetic medication going from A1C of 10.3 to 4.8. I lowered my carbs (but not low carbs by any means). I will technically be diabetic forever as I'll have to watch my carbs and exercise and keep the weight off. And…

Thanks for the comments guys. I did call my dr. And he 1/2 my metformin. Seems a little better today. Nothing in the 60s at least.

Another low reading tonight, 66. 1 HR after diner (only 18carbs for dinner), but 1/2 piece of pound cake and 1/2 bag of skittles earlier in the day. Calling my dr tomorrow. Had to drink some lemonade and eat an apple to bring by levels up.
