How do you figure your calorie goal? I think I did it when i signed up.
-
I do have a Fitbit. I have been averaging about 6500-10000 steps a day without going the extra mile. but since I've been walking on my breaks at work, I have been going over 10,000. I never knew how to use the calories burned. So, as of now, it says I have 2150 calories burned. If I stay under that in calories eaten, I…

Thank you so much for the wonderful info and support! This is great!

Got it! I am old school when it comes to 'dieting'. When I first started I didnt know any of this stuff. Just learned to write down how many calories i ate, or two shakes and a sensible meal...or how many 'points' I've tallied. Thank you!

So, if I eat 1500 calories, I would have had to burn off more than that to lose weight? How would I know?
-
Yes, totally! I have to purge my fridge and start fresh. I checked out that link, I think everyone can use that at some point. But I am a scatter brain. I am planning on adding more meditation into a daily routine. Thanks!

I love it, thank you!

[*] Repeat this process until you're in a reasonable calorie deficit. What is this? I have seen it many times on here. ..

I didnt think about the dishwashing aspect. thanks, :-)

Is there a way MFP calculates the food weighing? I had one years ago, but never really used it.
-
I have been heavy my whole life. I had a five year window in my 20's where I was actually at my ideal weight (and still thought I was fat. UGH. If I only knew). I am now 44, and since then, I have been on countless diets, lost weight, then gained back and then some, and now I am 130 lbs overweight. I recently found out I…

Very inspiring!!!! (go Cubbies)

I have also noticed that once you tell everyone that you might needs yours removed, you will be shocked at how common it is!
-
I had mine removed in 2013. I also had the laproscopy surgery, but my doc said that if I had waiting any longer, they would have had to cut me open, it was that bad! The first year after (and after eating bland food for about 3 months) I was in heaven! No more stomach pains, no more attacks, no more back aches, I felt like…

Cult? I wouldn't go that far. Scam? Yes, definitely.
-
My Ex's new wife is trying to get me on it. And it is a scam. If you read the label, it's all things you can get at a health food store. They just wrap it up all pretty-like, slap a fancy word on it and sell the crap out of it.

This is great motivation! You are awesome! I too, want to get to that running stage. Just not there yet. I have just started back up on keeping myself in check with eating. Someone did tell me about the couch to 5k is a good training tool to anyone into running. I am gonna try it, soon. hopefully. ;-) Thank you for your…

43, but my inner self is still 35. ;-)
-
That is exactly what I am going for, and I don't think I am depriving myself of anything. thank you.

That's awesome! You are an inspiration! I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as you feel better and no medication!!!

taking something like man made sugar is just resetting the way you eat. For example, before the 1950's, there was no such thing as HFCS (high fructose corn syrup.) If I cut that out, it's just being more natural in the way I eat. White bleached flour is also something man has created in process, so that also has import…

Thanks, I'll check it out!

Thank you for your faith in me! LOL To write this post was definitely a therapy session at best and I think it helps to connect with all of you. Thanks for your support!

"Gluten" is starting to become a huge monster as well. I have a friend who has Celiac Disease and she truly cannot eat anything with gluten without it putting her in the hospital. I get what you mean tho. It's easier to weed out wheat products by looking for gluten free stuff. Thanks for the tips!

It's how you look at it. I am looking at it as a change in the way I want to eat and live a healthier life. I think the word DIET has taken on a life of its own and for me personally, it was psychologically damaging. Back at ya on the luck. :-)
-
Yes, I should have read what I wrote. I meant to say 'refined sugars'. I think I would definitely be setting myself up for failure if I cut out all sugars! ;-) I am incorporating a lot of fruits and veggies in what I eat, and I LOVE using honey as a sugar substitute.

you can add me. I'm in the same boat. I got my fitbit a week ago and just synced it here.

I'm in. I have 100lbs to say bye bye to as well. Let's do this!
