Protein List with comparative calories: http://www.ketogenic-diet-resource.com/protein-chart.html There is a wealth of information here: You can calculate your macros and there is a ton of reading about protein and getting the most out of your workouts. This is where I would start, read all of these posts.. good info.…

AliceDark is right you probably only need approx 1gram/lb Lean Body Mass (not your total weight). I was not happy with the default macros MFP set me at and calculated mine for optimum protein and fat.. these are minimums and then i can fill in the rest of my calories with any of them. When I was having this problem I found…

@LizSmith55 I saw your post asking for help with entering recipes on MFP and when NadiaMayl posted it I was already planning to look it up since I knew I was under-using this feature myself. SO I googled it today and found this useful video.. going to simplify my life so much!!!! YAY! https://youtu.be/EDDN2OtW2qY

@NadiaMayl lol.. Don't know if I can blame it on the smoking or the kid.. @LizSmith55 great job! Keep it up the rest of the week! It's really simple cals in cals out stuff..I'm glad you feel like a success today! Today was a rest day for weights for me..feeling so good not smoking still! I ate on point and met…

This is the arm that has lymphedema.. a side effect of my cancer treatment 17 years ago. It collects extra lymphatic fluid and the old school treatment for it was to not lift more than a gallon of milk with it and never do anything physical with it. I lived in fear of using my arms FOR YEARS! New scientific study published…

@LizSmith55.. Dude..its brutal. Seems I'm the last one in the group..lol.. It's about time :) Today was a pretty good day.. I ate on point and nailed my macros (my goal for the week) I didn't smoke but had a bit of a rough day emotionally.. Kinda lost my temper with the kid when she was goofing off in karate. Know it was…

It doesn't even sound like he was critiquing your form.. what an a**hat. For me, at this point the ONLY people that have given me suggestions on form are people I've asked (friends & trainers). All I can say is to use that to fuel your workout and keep going and continuing with your SL program and SHOW them how bada** your…

Oh also.. Still not smoking! My goal this week is to dial in my macros and do my 3 gym SL days. I'm also hoping to get in at least 2 JM Shreds this week.. I feel like i need more cardio type exercise to keep my weight in check. Glad to see you are back @LizSmith55! Let's do this week!

Good Morning Ladies! You are all so inspiring.. I'm gonna keep on keeping on! I didn't get on here this weekend but here was my workout on Friday night: I'm increasing all my lifts! Had to move up less than 5lbs on OH Press but still managed to increase! My Deadlift kicked so much kitten! Week 3/Day 11/Total Weeks 3…

@heatherc369 "I lost 2.6 inches and 3.4 lbs in May, not bad :)" That's Some Great Progress!!!! Here's my stats for last 2 months: ***Gained 1lb but inches still going down, weights lifted still going up.

@NadiaMayl Sorry to hear your hubby is broken :/ Broken ribs suck so much! You are such an inspiration and I love your positive attitude toward this journey! You are so right it is an entire event and we should enjoy the ride! @heatherc369 good job on doing your shred!!! You're doing so great! Noticed your new pic and WOW!…

@heybales thank you for that reminder. Yes it is great to be able to eat more and still maintain my weight. I'm also continuing to see progress in my lifting, I'm working on shifting the focus to that. @standenvernet Wow yes! it is mental programming and I can recognize it as being irrational, but its going to take time to…

@SideSteel yes that's the idea. I was lifting and eating @ my original deficit for weight loss chosen by MFP 1200. This was getting me 1.5-2lb/week (10-15%) before I started SL. It was suggested by multiple people that 1200 was way too low if I was looking for strength gains so I should up until I find my maintenance. Have…

Ack!! I'm kinda freaking out! I've inched up 100 again on my cals this week as suggested in the recomp threads and strength training articles I've been reading. I hadn't gained any weight and still lost inches over the last 3 weeks at 1500 and the previous 2 weeks at 1400 so I'm up to 1600 now. It's frustrating and scary…

Hey Ladies! I was at the gym late last night and didn't get to posting. Here was my workout last night: Week 3/Day 9/Total Weeks 3 Workout A - All Exercises Warmup: 1x5 45lbs === I didn't increase weight because I was nursing a slight wrist strain. But I was able to do these without much discomfort. It actually feels…

@LizSmith55 Glad you came here to post! It helps me just to process stuff for myself by writing down exactly what I'm struggling with. First of all DON"T PANIC or beat yourself up! Get moving in the right direction and I suspect you'll find it relatively easy once you're logging and keeping good track of your diet. I would…

@NadiaMayl lol!!! I'm dying imagining your whole family puking except the one kid sitting there completely cool..haha.. Sorry that happened! Sounds like you had a good day in spite of all that and ate well! My kiddo's last day was today too! She's going to do some summer programs..I work so it's pretty much the same for me…
-
@bitbits24 Sounds like a great goal to me. Just take it one day at a time and log EVERYTHING.. you got this! @NadiaMayl I have read that anytime you start a new strength training regimen it isn't unusual to have 2-4 weeks of weight stalls while your body gets used to the new demands. Make sure you're doing your…

I agree with everything that's already been shared here. I'm doing SrongLIfts 5x5 partly because of its simplicity and the fact that I only need to be at the gym 3 times a week to see impressive gains. There is a group here for SL and the sticky threads at the top are FULL of information. Like modmom1, I got a trainer my…

@sijomial Thank you for your input! Great! Ok.. I may try to increase in another couple of weeks. I would be happy with maintaining but would also not mind losing about 5-10 more lbs so I'm going to see how I do at the 15-1600 for a bit longer. I'm also starting to understand that I can enjoy my strength gains now and eat…

Still consider myself new to weight training here.. still struggling to sever my emotional attachment to the scale after a period of 1-2lb week weight loss. I have been attempting to get into recomp for the last 5 weeks. I realized this morning, even though I haven't seen the scale move more than 1/2 lb in 5 weeks, I've…

Hi @LizSmith55! I'm not exactly sure what we are "supposed" to do but here is what I do. I post everyday what's going on with me.. ie. how my food logging and exercise has gone for that day, other things going on with life, questions I have or whine if I need support or motivation. I find it works best when I'm doing it…
