Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately what I can do is limited by the lifting vs. running schedule given by my cross country/track coach and my equally limited funds and time as a college student. Also, I don't think I'm looking to gain as much strength as your training program would entail. I still appreciate that you…

I want to build a little mass (to "look toned," I guess), but mostly strength. I understand the strength is more important whereas the wanting to look toned part (mass) is more from vanity. So a little surplus and lift. Got it. Thank you so much! You made it sound so simple haha.

No problem, the pic of my guitar before was kinda ambiguous.

Not a big deal. "Muscle ways more than fat" is just a piece of misinformation they taught me in high school health class, apparently. I didn't mean to start a big debate.
-
Awesome! You just gave me hope! Also the websites are a great resource. Thank you!

Hey! Yes, I'm also in college. But I run cross country and I'm in track season right now, and then once spring semester ends (April) cross country training will start back up again, so I'm not trying to lose weight. My goal is to tone up - to strengthen my weak core and arms, which my coach has told me is basically the…

Since you have 5 weeks, not 2 or 3 like we all thought, I agree with this now. Good luck and have fun. Stay positive! Smile. You can do it. Like you said, you will not let your "genes" or any other obstacle beat you!!!
-
Oh. Whoops. If I'm not talking to someone face to face it's hard for me to tell, haha.
-
I have to agree with this. If she doesn't get help, she could die. Like Crystal said, eating disorders are the MOST FATAL of all psychological disorders. She needs help ASAP, especially if there are other addiction problems, as you (Mom) mentioned.

So is there like a reason that it still says losing is your goal now, about 2 weeks after you said you had updated your profile? I'm totally not trying to make you mad or argue with you. I'm just asking this so that you know what your profile says in case there's a weird glitch or something.

This reads like poetry. It's inspiring, seriously! You're a great writer. And I agree that you "have anorexia but [are] a person like any other." People are quick to label those struggling with any type of disease as just "an alcoholic," just a "drug addict," just an "anorexic," or just a "bulimic." But people struggling…

Hey! It's nice to meet you. I'm so glad to hear that you're currently in recovery for anorexia. Also, it's cool that you ran cross country and want to get back into that. I actually run cross country, so I know what an awesome sport it is. I wish you the best of luck as you begin this amazing journey! You can do it! Feel…

Awesome! I didn't take a gap year to travel first, but if I could have I would have.
-
I agree with trying to take the test later if you can.
-
That doesn't sound like it leads to effective or safe weight loss . . . just saying.
-
Cool! Glad you're here.
-
Cool. Thank you.
-
Hey. Glad you came. I think you've taken a good first step towards staying focused by being here at MFP. :)
-
Hey! It sounds you have an awesome positive attitude! Glad you're here.

So I kinda need to eat like the guys on my team do? Got it haha. But seriously, I will make sure I'm getting enough calories. Whittling down to nothing from not eating enough would be quite depressing - I'm looking to be strong, not super unhealthy skinny. No dietitian here, but I will definitely talk to my coach as well…

Yeah I totally trust my coach - he was, like, a national runner 3 years in a row for our school - so he knows what he's talking about. And I've already improved from high school (where I also had an awesome and knowledgeable coach) under my college coach's training, so I know it works for me. Even just running without any…

Yeah, I'll figure that part out too. Thanks.
-
That's sweet man!
-
Cool. I hope to move off campus by my senior year at least, but my small college town is kinda lacking in off-campus housing. I'm in the country.
-
Cool! I am also all of those haha. And yeah, unfortunately I have to agree with you. Although I'm not trying to lose weight so much as get stronger (especially in my weak weak core) for cross country and track.
-
That's cool man!
-
Haha awesome! Since I forgot to mention this in my original post, I'm 20. A sophomore. English major. :)
-
That's awesome! I love cross country.
-
That is all really helpful advice! Thank you! I didn't know that about sodium intake. I go to a super small school haha so I'll just be talking to my coach and my professor from my Fitness for College and Life class where we had to use my Fitness pal.

And I will keep fish in my diet.
