1200 - but I'm short and unable to exercise much due to health. Doesn't seem to be working though.

The scale is working just fine for my mother. I see my doctors on Thursday, but this morning there was another 3 lbs.

I don't have cheat days, nor do I feel the need to. I do allow myself certain treats here or there, such as when I'm wanting something a bit higher in calories (love chocolate!) but I always just work it into my regular diet and make sure that it fits calorie wise.

The sad truth is that people don't always want to hear what you have to say - even when you're telling them something you feel is truly beneficial. I know I used to be one those people. If I had spent half as much time actually changing my lifestyle as I did making excuses, I would have met my goal weight a long time ago.…

It doesn't have a battery. My digital scale was ruined when my commode flooded while I was away, so I have an old fashioned scale at the moment. I double, tripled, quadruple checked. Still there this morning, but at least these pounds didn't bring along any friends.

The scale hasn't moved, and I don't think I'm getting my period. I just finished an extra long period that was 19 days long, so I better not be getting it again. (Appointment concerning that issue is on Tuesday.) Nothing particularly salty that I can think of, and I try to drink at least 6 if not 8 glasses of water. I go…

I did weigh myself daily in the beginning, but I tapered off later because I didn't want to get too obsessed over the numbers. Now, I'm back at it because it's just so tempting when I see the scale.

Tacrolimus was the medicine I couldn't get delivered. My dosage was changed on Monday, so the hospital was supposed to send me out a new prescription by Fed-Ex. It didn't arrive until 7:30pm on Friday. I didn't have any Wednesday night, all day Thursday, and Friday morning. I've felt bad ever since, and now there's this…

I'm actually in the same position as you. I've lost 25lbs, but I still the same, old fat girl when I look in the mirror. Old clothes are too big and I'm wearing things I hadn't worn in a while. Other people notice, but I still don't see it. I think that perhaps I'm just stuck in a fat mindset, so to speak. It's not that I…

Thanks everyone. You have given me some great suggestions. I actually ate a few of those caramel rice poppers. That helped my sweet tooth. As for the other suggestions, I'll enter them as new recipes so I can better figure out the calories. Thanks again.

That sounds perfect, and I have all of the ingredients already. Thank you. That's what I'll do.

I'm not a fan of iced coffee, but the porridge idea sounds good and so does that banana and honey frozen yogurt.

I try to stay around 1200 calories. I'm on a lot of medicines that cause weight gain and, due to health issues, I can't exercise that much. I do have a little problem with moderation, although I'm getting better. I went to a church dinner last night and looked right at all the brownies, cupcakes, pies etc. and didn't eat…

This is my first NSV, and it's such a minor one. The other day, I was upset because I haven't been able to see any real changes. I know I'm trying and that I have lost weight, but I still see the same fat woman when I look in the mirror. Anyway, I put on my favorite pair of jeans and shirt to go to a dinner at church. I…

I think I am learning, but this is like my first test. Everyone is nervous before their first test. I've lost 20lbs so far, so I don't think I'm doing all that bad. I'm just nervous about taking off the training wheels. I need to, and that's precisely what I'm going to do, but I still want to make sure I can do things…

I was planning on doing that as well. I'm just going to do my best. If it goes well, great. If I go over, I'll try harder next time.

My personal goal for 2 months is to weigh less than I do now. I would worry that if I said I wanted to lose X amount of pounds by a certain time period, I'd be disappointed if I wasn't able to do so. Can you lose? Absolutely, but no one knows for certain exactly how much in what time frame. Just do you best!

That's good. Usually for these dinners there's ham, green beans, broccoli casserole (my weakness) macaroni and cheese, desserts, etc. Even the vegetables will be fixed with oil or lard. I'm from Kentucky, and that's what people around here do. Still, I can eat a little of the meat and vegetables. I actually don't eat…

That is really great advice. I'm still a bit of a newbie at all this. Yesterday marks the third week I've been trying to change the way I approach food and life. If I don't do so well at this dinner, I'll learn from it and move on to do better next time.
-
Okay. I've tried really hard to be accurate in the past. I'll just eat small amounts and not go crazy. I'll do my best to log it in later and jump back into more accurate logging the next day. Thanks.

I just realized the dinner is tomorrow night. Oops. Either way, just make this a learning experience and don't be to upset if I don't do perfectly the first time around?

That is wonderful. I am a kidney recipient. I couldn't find a donor, so I had to wait 4 years for a cadaver kidney. It's so wonderful that there are people like you.
-
We all make mistakes. It simply means you're human, and it's good that you recognize it. The occasional binge, like the one you described, isn't going to immediately destroy all your efforts. Just move on and go back to your regularly scheduled program tomorrow. :)

I try to stick to once a week - try being the key word. I know that I can get overly worried over nothing. I might appear to be 2lbs heavier from one day to the next, but I know that it's just natural fluctuations. At the same time, I do freak. It's like the rational part of my brain shuts down when I look at the numbers.…

I always lose in my waist first, but my hips like to stick around a bit longer. I just keep at it and it does eventually leave the hips and thighs as well.

To be completely honest, I used to hate the scale. Its presence haunted me each time I went into the bathroom, and each time I felt compelled to stand on it, which always led to me calling it a liar. It took me some time to realize that I didn't really hate the scale. I hated the fact it refused to allow me to lie. When I…

I've lost 15lb, but I haven't gone down any pant sizes yet. I tend to lose the weight on my hips after I lose it everywhere else. My waist is smaller, but I'm still quite hippy.
-
This is all very true. When I have attempted to lose weight in the past, I used to tell everyone around me just to hear them say they could tell I had lost weight. I was hinting for it. I wanted to have that support, and I'd get disappointed if I didn't get it. Each time, I failed because my focus was turned around…

I do love grapes and nuts. I've been eating both lately, so maybe I'll increase those. I was working to keep all of my numbers at or below goal, which is difficult. Sugar is a problem when you love fruit. I was trying to focus on all instead of just calories. If my bigger focus is on calories, that's actually a lot of…

I haven't given up 'junk.' I just cut back on it considerably because that used to be all I ate. I used to drink 2 or 3 bottles of Dr Pepper almost every day. That's where a lot of my calories came in. This is all about teaching myself to eat differently, and you're being incredibly helpful. I need to look at food…
