  • I'm 5'5 238lbs and I try to keep my HR at 180 for at least 25 minutes of my 30 minute work out ! I use a heart rate chest strap to monitor it.. and actually the machine I use is only 1-2bpm off from what my chest monitor says. I do have the incline at 15 of 20 and the resistance around 10 of 20 for about 3-5 minutes and I…
  • Most weeks I do 2+ hours of cardio at least twice per week. One hour in the morning and one hour in the evening.. usually burning 350-450 calories each exercise (from my chest strap HR monitor). 350*4= 1400
  • I choose the closest thing to it with the highest calories in the data base.
  • I have no end date for when I would like to be at my goal weight. Not everyone who loses weight quickly is doing so in an unsupervised or unhealthy manner. I could have gone with the drastic and invasive gastric bypass.. that is in no way a healthy way of losing weight. I'm surprised I don't see more people commenting…
  • Not for me. It just makes me feel very uncomfortable. I have a set amount that I need to eat to get the calories I want in for the day so trying to drink water would be kind of pointless for me.
  • As long as my gross calories are 1000+ it saves even with a lower net due to exercise. If I ate 1200 and exercised 800 for a net of 400 it would still spit out a projected weight loss for 5 weeks from now. The number is absurd and I don't pay attention to that message to begin with. If you go through calculations of…
  • Yup. I went out last night and was like 1200 over my calorie goal. Tracked every piece of fried chicken and beer. I may skim 100-200 calories off my goal the next 5 or so days to make up for it or hit the gym double next week. I feel accountable by logging it.
  • Lose 170 pounds and get back on roller coasters! 5'5 I am down 40.. 50 more until I'm comfortable enough to go back to an amusement park! i am on a physician guided diet. 1200-1300 calorie max and working out 2-3 days per week. I am very sedentary the rest of the week due to work. I weigh everything and wear a chest strap…
  • I suppose I surround myself with more positive and encouraging people. Weight loss can be a very lonely and isolating journey... sometimes you don't see the weight you lose in the mirror but others notice it. It makes things just a bit easier in the process... just insight from the other side :) I would question, to…
  • Try adding some avocado for fat/bulk! Or a good olive oil drizzle
  • Morbid obesity and my diet is overseen by a nutritionist and endocrinologist. I am supposed to be eating 800 calories a day until I lose 70 pounds but I would rather keep eating 1200-1300 and lose at the rate I'm at until it falls off. I already have hair loss and muscle loss. It doesn't appear to be exacerbated by a…
  • I lost 22lbs the first 25 days and I'm at about 40lbs in 60 days. If one of my "friends" doesn't like my progress and what I post on my own Facebook page they can delete me. I lost 6.5lbs last week... I guess 40lbs is all just water weight lol. Wonder how much more of it I have before I lose "real" weight in others eyes
  • If your levels are correct you will be able to lose weight. My levels weren't right from 2012-2016. I gained almost 100lbs and had absolutely no energy, was on activity restriction, driving restriction and I was at risk for cardiac arrest. Levels are finally good and I feel good therefore I am able to drop weight quickly…
  • I'm also on 1200-1300 and I typically don't eat exercise calories back unless I feel hungry, weak, sick, etc. My activity level is very low most days during the week so exercise brings me to a normal person's level. It also gives me a buffer in case I have miscalculated my calories. If you're hungry eat some back... maybe…
  • There is no way for me to know how many calories I actually burn exercising even with my chest strap. I have friends who log 'chores' and 'house cleaning'... eat back 400+ calories a day from their normal 'exercises' and wonder why they can't lose half a pound for 2-3 months. I personally don't eat back my exercise…
  • You are the creator of your own reality. If you are afraid you will fail then you will. If you know you will succeed then you will! The only person keeping you from succeeding is yourself.. you can do this! If you believe and if you know then you will.
  • There's about 12 calories in 2grams of almonds.. which is about one large almond.
  • I ate the arctic zone but I wasn't sober.. It is like night and day for me in taste. Halo top is delicious but about 100 more calories than arctic
  • Riced cauliflower has been delicious in my meals this week. I love Halo Top ice cream... love love love it.
  • That is a question for your doctor and a nutritionist.. not people here. Quicker isn't always better when it comes to weight loss and you may find that a low amount of calories that works for one person is miserable for you.
  • My biggest struggle is keeping myself from reverting back to unhealthy habits.. I have been in therapy for anorexia. Watching the scale drop day by day is addicting.. last week I lost 3lbs one day.. the next day I was down 2.. the next day down 1.5.. my work outs were suffering and I made myself stop counting for two days.…
  • Imagine having friends who respect your weight loss journey.
  • Anal has me losing 15% of my body weight in 2 months sooo I think I'm going to keep doing it. I log single almonds and single m&ms in my diary.
  • Your body counts calories whether you do or not.. and that apple probably has more than 60 calories if you aren't weighing it in grams on a food scale. I log nibbles, bites, single almonds, single m&ms, sips of milk, etc.
  • How did you get fat? Being unmindful of the calories you were consuming. Sorry you aren't able to find filling foods under 1300 calories but I can :) You are redundant like the rest of them. 1200 for a female isnt VLC... MFP wouldn't suggest it if it wasn't allowed, right? You and others make vast assumptions about the…
  • Then let it be a personal problem. You are no doctor. I eat 1200 and I still recalculate my goals.. it has dropped 300 calories since losing 36lbs.. from 1600 to 1300.. you do know it is eventually going to tell me to eat 1200 calories PER MFP guidelines, right? Will it be wrong then? When you get below 1200 you lower the…
  • Didn't know you had to use it a specific way... because you literally don't. People on WW and other diet 'brands' use MFP to log their food.. it's a food diary to me. It has a large database of food and is easy to log meals to see how many calories one intakes. Easier than paper. I am not on a 'myfitnesspal diet'. Are we…
  • I weigh about the same and it's set me at 1310 but I go lower due to other reasons. Change the amount you want to lose... 1 or 1.5lbs and you can eat back exercise calories if you choose to exercise. Once you get the ball rolling you should be okay. I went from eating way too much to being conscious of what was going in my…
  • I lost 21lbs in 20 days without any drugs. You generally lose quickly when you first begin any exercise and diet. 35lbs in 52 days... still no drugs. I have no issue with others taking drugs or having surgery for weight loss because they can't control themselves but pushing either is ridiculous.
  • Yep. I try to over estimate and log. I have logged exactly 1 m&m and 1 almond before.
