We are, or were, very similar. I was 5' 1 3/4" until it seems I've shrunk a bit. (I could fill a book with all the things no one told me before I found out as I aged.) So I'm about 5' 1 1/2". I was 147.4 when I decided to diet again. I'm going for 125, so 22.4 pounds! I've lost 11 so far. I'm 136.6 today. Mostly I'm…

I've lost 11 pounds now. So it pays to keep going. Go for it, lottiedoug!
-
Same with me. I don't let it bother me. What bothers me is when I delete a log (usually where I forgot to stop the Drive bit) and it returns. For days.

I'm 5'1" and I've already lost half my goal. 11 pounds down, 11 to go!

Boredom definitely. But really, one trap is too many options: buffet or potluck, etc. Went to Game Night with a group from church yesterday. Everyone was supposed to bring snacks. I had a very low calorie dinner before going. Still I had to go back for that 3rd cookie.... Too many good looking foods makes me want to eat…

Eh, I don't think so. Didn't for breakfast. I have a shake for lunch. No veggies in my snacks here at work. That leaves dinner. That would mean 5 side dishes and the calories would rack up fast. So I'm out.
-
I'll try.

Welcome. Slow and steady is a good way to lose weight. I think it gives you a better chance at maintenance because you're building a new habit that will, hopefully, carry on after you've made it to your goal weight.

Well, doesn't look like I'll be having tea today so I'll meet this challenge after all.

I picked my own calorie goal. I learned that if you lay in bed doing nothing for 24 hours, you'd still burn 12 times your weight. So I set my goal at 12 times my goal weight of 125, thus 1500. I'd still lose weight if I laid in bed all day everyday, just slower. But I'm not doing that, I'm up and moving so I burn faster.…

Weekends are going to be hard for me. I can walk around my floor in the building where I work. Get about 250 steps per lap. So I'll get up and walk several times a day, 2 songs apiece with various speeds, if I can't get down to the gym in the building. If I don't make it at work, I have to walk at home. Earlier this…

I think with a pole, I use my arms more. I pull myself up with the pull or use the pole to brace me as I go down. It's a light pole but it does the trick. I can see it being helpful to the knees. I hate hiking without my walking stick.

I don't have any sugar with me. If I have tea, I'll have to use Stevia (which I don't find as sweet as sugar--but I am apparently a supertaster).
-
I get it. But I would eat when I'm bored at work, especially bored to the point of sleepy. Need the energy, you know. I try to get up and take a walk instead.

Tech support here. Welcome!

Log in to www.fitbit.com. Then copy the URL to a new browser tab. You can then see a button to add a friend. I'm particularly interested in friends in my time zone (Central US) or with a similar daily goal (10k). I'm not against international friends, it just gets wonky with the challenges being in different time zones.…

I'm just slightly over 5'. I didn't get the serum either. My one brother (I have 4 sisters) did though. He's just under 6'.

My daughter counted 36 papillae so it looks like I am very likely a supertaster. She and my husband were in the Normal range.
-
I log food and non-step exercises on MFP. I log step exercises on Fitbit or let it just record the steps.
-
This isn't too big of a problem for me. I'm a bargainista. I do splurge a bit now and then, but even then, only on a bargain. I got my Fitbit, for example, for only $54.

We are lucky enough to have a gym in the building. That makes it a lot easier. But some days I don't get to use it. For example, I'll spend my lunch hour going to the chiropractor today. So no gym. So like Zed_cob says, I'll take walking breaks. My floor is like a perimeter around the building with a huge floor to top…

I forgot my strawberries at home. :( I've got pink here (cherry vanilla granola), some brown (chocolate), and yellowish (white cheddar Cheez-Its). Maybe I'll have better luck with dinner at home.

I took the test last night. My daughter counted 36, making me very likely a supertaster. I'd suspected it for a long time. She and my husband came up as normal tasters. I remember diet soda tasting horrible, where others think they taste sweet like regular soda. I don't consider that as strong evidence. Strawberries for me…

Me neither. I only log on my spreadsheet and MyFitnessPal. So FitBit gets it from MFP. So I don't know why it's any different at all, unless it's getting the separate foods from MFP and putting its own calories on them.
-
I get double logs in Track Your Exercise. I also find that it's hard to delete things (like when I forget to stop DriveBit and it records way too much driving). I can delete them and then a few hours later they're back.
-
Mine is off, but only by 3 calories. MFP says 608 (it's afternoon here) and Fitbit says 611. By my own calculations, Fitbit is right. (I keep a spreadsheet and mine presently says 611.5 calories eaten.)

I haven't done anything like this. Too cerebral, I guess. I don't limit myself on anything but calories. So I want low-calorie snacks so I can have snacks, even sweet ones. (Did you know a Fun-size Twix is only 50 calories!) I do allow one day a month to blow the calorie budget with no guilt. The problem is, I often go…

I actually started one 2 days ago. The 3 free pages of an adult coloring book. I'm still working on the first page. Many little spaces to color and the decision for which color to use is not easy. This will take awhile.

Too late. I was slightly late. Given traffic at 5pm, I doubt I'll be early to my class this evening.

True, for used ones, so far mine is fine. Had it about a month. You can find NEW items on eBay and many of them have the manufacturer's warranty.
