Just did a 1.3 minute jumping jack bit. Also, I get up and walk around the office suite here now and then.

Oh, and in my life (and my husband's) I can tell that portion size is a BIG culprit in weight gain. Keep to the right portions and that will drop a lot of calories!

Hi! 43, mom of 2 (adopted, so I don't have pregnancy weight or anything like that). I would suggest stepping down. 65 is a big goal. What about 20 to start. Then another 20 when you reach it, then the last 25. Or set 10 pound subgoals. That might make it easier to look at.

I drank 2 cups of tea (used the tea bag twice, 2nd time with half the sugar because it was weaker) and I haven't had any of my snacks today. Just breakfast and lunch and those teas. So I agree, it helps.

I'll have my husband buy Spenda or Stevia this weekend. (He's doing the shopping for a change.) I've got some new Chocolate tea. Maybe that will be good, too.

67 and breathing a bit hard. That's a good way to wake yourself up if you're getting sleepy at work.

Two parts: 1) It takes 3500 calories burned to lose a pound and 2) you'd burn 12 times your weight in 24 hours if all you did was lay in bed. Using those two, I budget my calories (to 12 x my goal weight) and try to do more than lay around in bed all day. (And I put it all in a spreadsheet.)

I'd been here before, too, back in 2005 or so. But I let myself go there for awhile. I'm back to lose 22 pounds. Lost 2.8 of it so far!

Not so great today. My badge doesn't work for the gym so I went to the office. Found out my badge was disactivated by the office where I used to be housed, even though I'm still one of the computer techs. So now I have to get it reactivated before I can use it to get in the gym. Fortunately, one of my coworkers let me…

I hated having to buy bigger jeans to fit because I couldn't fit in my size 6P's anymore. At least I could find the 6P's. I also didn't have a lot of money, so I had to go to a thrift store. Okay, I can find 10's but finding 10's that weren't too long or dopey (I don't like the style that makes your but look big and your…

I went to the gym downstairs yesterday. Did 32 minutes on the treadmill, averaging 3.3 mph. I did get up to 4.0 mph a couple of times but couldn't sustain it due to my shins hurting. Guess I should have stretched first. Gonna stick with the smaller exercises today. I'll probably do the gym again tomorrow.

Yep. I just turned 43 and knowing it was going to be harder because I'm older didn't help me get motivated. I'm just going to keep trying, I suppose. But I'm going to diet my way. I don't want to live a life of depriving myself every meal of every day.

Tea, huh? There's an idea. I do need sugar in my tea though. I have a little 4 cup water heater here at work. I carry one pouch of hot chocolate with me and one tea a day. Sometimes I have one or the other. Maybe I should have both. I do feel I don't have to snack for a bit when I have one. It's almost like a snack to me,…

If I did that, my water bottle would be empty, and I like my water from home better than the water in the water fountains here at work.

I want to add that I don't just count calories. I budget them. Then I can eat whatever I feel so long as I'm in my budget. I just don't want to live a life where I have to eat all sour or bland things. Strawberries are SOUR to me. They NEED sugar. Tea with no sugar? Impossible. I like waffles with peanut butter and syrup!…

I took a day off my diet once a month back in the day (when I lost 30 pounds in 7 months). I didn't count a single calorie that day and would eat whatever I wanted. I plan to do that this time around, too. It's just nice to take a break and eat really yummy stuff now and then.

I am going to weigh every day. Otherwise, my spreadsheet won't work. My OC tendencies will be foiled. They can be tools! So I'll obsess over calories and weigh every day to see how I'm faring. (And I do know I'll fluctuate so I'm not going to stress about that.)

I'm trying to get up and move when I'm not really hungry but wanting a snack. So far (a whole 2 days in), it's going well. My husband is the late night snacker. Now he'll have to go to bed early to start his new job. He'll have to be in at 6 or 6:30am starting next Monday. I'm a night owl. But I don't snack late at night.…

Hi, I'm new, too. Gabinka. I'm 43 this month. I had 22 pounds to go when I started. But now I've only got 20 to go. Not a bad start. I know it won't always be that fast though. I want to look better in photos and I want to be able to wear my clothes. I'm a barganista. I can't bear the thought of throwing out all my present…

I go by what I did in my first diet. When I decided then to do a diet, I first read an article on How Things Work or something like that. It said you would burn 12 times your weight every day if you laid in bed and didn't move. But of course, we get up and move. And it takes 3500 calories burned to lose a pound. So I set…
