I live .in an area in which many anti-vaccine people live. They either don't trust the vaccine because of the short time in developing it, or the belief that it is just another cold that developed into pneumonia, or it is a form of government control.

Evening! I keep forgetting to check in as I don't do anything worth reporting. I'm ready to get a booster shot with the reports of the escalation of the Delta variant infection. I read that Hawaii got 600+ new cases of it either yesterday or the day before.

Pam--Eternal life is a great insight. Love it I haven't gained since coming back from Alaska but I haven't lost either.
-
Pam--You have developed a great plan that will work. A weak part on my part is veggies. I usually drink most of mine. Helene--Congrats upon your weight loss. Your mentioning gloomy dismal weather reminds me of a week I went to Hawaii and it poured the rain most of the week. Maryanne--Considering that the St. Louis area is…

Maryanne--Great pic! I'm currently binge watching the new season of Virgin River, as well as the old episodes of Grey's Anatomy on Netflix!

There is a movement among many groceries/supermarkets to eliminate their use of plastic bags so it is either bring your own bag or in some, buy a cloth bag. The big advantage of using the app to shop for groceries, it enables you to keep within a budget as you see the total before checking out. It also eliminates exposure…

Check out this advice or info given in a travel expert's email. Note the info on restaurants. TRAVEL TO HAWAII I'm enjoying some fun in the sun in Maui at the moment, and it's been a phenomenal trip so far. There were a few more steps involved this time around, but the state's pre-clearance program made it easy to visit…

It has been one year 4 months since I have been in a store other than local supermarket, drugstore and Dollar Store. I use the Walmart grocery pickup--even light bulbs--and it is so efficient and quick.

Alaska is in the past. We were amazed at the number of sushi places. We have no idea if they were open as we don't eat sushi. What surprised us was the lack of help being given people at the visitor's center as we couldn't help over hear some conversations. "We don't know what their hours are; we don't know when they will…

The Alaska trip was not one of the best trips. It is beautiful there and the people very friendly. Right before we left, they cancelled one of our tours which was by rail leaving at 6am and returning to hotel area around 10pm. It is scheduled again but not until Fall. No cruises were operating during the time we were…

440+ new messages find me logging in. I am having problems with my laptop which I use for posting to forums as it is much faster. The problem is that it sometimes deletes info that took energy to post. I guess I'll get a new one this Fall. It just deleted a bunch of info I won't report. I have an appointment with my…

Maryanne--Congrats upon the pound lost.

Amazon came to my bed rescue. Out of so many available, I got this: Vaunn Medical Foot Step Stool with Anti-Skid Rubber Platform, Chrome Plated Stool

I haven't checked in for days. I've been busy getting ready for new furniture and new mattress and box springs....and not sleeping worrying about it. I've been in hotels where the mattresses were great but at a greater distance from the ground. I guess that might be the vogue now as both the mattress and matching box…

I don't know how well our state registration site is working now but I am thankful I was part of a designated group that didn't have to jump through hoops other than to let the head person know that I wanted the vaccine under the eligible category.

I don't think Texans will be overly sympathetic with Ted Cruz. I loved the spots that showed his wife inviting others to join them in "getting away from the cold."

Pam--So sorry about the challenges you are facing. It is cheaper to pay an increased water bill than to pay a plumber, so keep those faucets dripping. We are awaiting storm #3. This kind of weather motivates me to eat. I just want the nasty weather gone!! On a positive note, more and more of our state is turning green with…

Pam--Take care in that horrible Texas weather. It looks as if we are in for a full week of ice, topped with some snow. I guess we have definitely said good-bye to snow days. Last evening, we were on a delay but this morning, it was switched to remote learning with classes to begin at 9am with regular schedule to follow. I…

Our state is breaking out in green. My county has not had any new cases in the past week.
-
Pam--Sorry you had to delay the vaccination; I saw footage of that pile up so I think the decision was wise. We haven't had pile ups but huge tractor trailers and semi's have slid off the interstate in a couple of areas closing the interstates. It just doesn't pay to take a chance. I am with electricity but some are…

My county is 7 straight days of being in the green, and other counties are beginning to be green also on the State map. The capsule report for the state: Maryanne--"I see with my heart too!" is so powerful.
-
Snowed in here. One of our cities is experiencing large power outages and the interstate near one is closed from large semi-trucks sliding off it and over a hill. I didn't sleep well the night before so last night I slept 9 hours, even sleeping through phone calls. I still don't feel the greatest. I'm tired even when I…

This is the 5th straight day that my county is reporting as green on the state map. When I looked at the # of deaths so far in the state, the 2175 cumulative deaths in the state exceeds the cumulative death total for the whole country of Australia. It got its act together early and acted quickly to impose fines on those…

I'm trying to lose weight but it is slow and all this dreaded snow or ice in my future is leading to comfort eating.

WTG, Maryanne! You will be at your goal soon, as you are so on track!! I had my cardiology appointment yesterday for the possible upcoming knee surgery. I am not sure I want it, but the test results were great yesterday except for the weight.
-
Pam--I had the same reaction on the first one. I took Benadryl for ten days based upon doctor's advice. This time I was prepared and started taking it on the first day. All I can say about Moderna 2 is that many here have had reactions bad enough to cause possible problems if they had been driving, for example. Some had…

Morning! I am doing much better but I don't remember ever sleeping this much. Fri night:6-1/2 hrs; Sat afternoon 6 hrs and Sat night 7-1/2 hrs according to my gadget. Exhaustion is one of the side effects. Still have slight headache and itching arm but the chills and extreme tiredness are gone. At least, Moderna is done.…

I got my second Moderna vaccination yesterday. So far, just some itching and small swelling at the injection site.

I am scheduled for my second Moderna vaccination this Friday. Hopefully the weather permits.
