Thank you all for all of your support and encouragement! This time tomorrow I'll be driving to the hospital! I kinda did things the opposite of most people...I was extremely open at work. My team was among the first to know about my progress every step of the way. They have been AMAZING! However, I only told my immediate…

I just had my final appointment today, and my surgery is Monday. I arrive at 1145 and surgery is set to start at 1345! I'm sooo afraid. My surgeon pointed out that I'm within the acceptable range for surgery, but I'm still in the high risk classification due to my weight. I started this journey at 417lbs. Now I'm down to…

Nice work!

Yay!! My surgery is 6 days from today. I'm doing the liquid diet now and for me it is easy peasy (I did optifast in my past and lived on shakes for over a year). I'm sooo excited/terrified at the same time. Good luck on your journey, this will be one heck of a wild ride, but also an amazing one!

Yay to feeling better! Boo to drain! I appreciate the info!

Thank you all! I'm a little calmer today. I had to seek a little pharmaceutical help to survive yesterday hahahaha. I am slowly realizing that I was more prepared than I thought! Any liquid diet tips for pre-surgery?

All scheduled!!! Insurance approved me in only 2 days! Nicotine screening came back early! I received a call this afternoon letting me know that my surgery is going to be 11/16! That is Sooo super soooon! Started liquid diet at that second. I'm so super crazy nervous, excited, terrified, proud, and overwhelmed! I am happy…

Thank you so much Ryan. Good luck getting your water in and keeping yourself moving! I'm so super impressed that you are feeling well enough to walk around, have high spirits, and even reassure some crazy chick lol! I appreciate your encouragement. I know that this is the best decision I'll ever make, but just having a…

I'm so happy for you!!!!! I needed to see your message today! I just got my call today to schedule my surgery and it is WAY sooner than I had planned! I'm in full blown panic mode, and it has really helped me to read about how well you are doing. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Thinking of you! Prayers and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery and the beginning of a new chapter!!

Awesome progress! Wow!

I understand your feelings and conflict. I called to schedule my surgery today (just got all approvals and negative nicotine results to prove that I quit smoking). I was soooo excited and terrified and nervous! When I called, I found out that the scheduler is on vacation until this Thursday! I took it as a sign, then…

Yay!!!! Congratulations! I won't be too far behind you. I just got my insurance approval. Awaiting my negative nicotine test results (should be about a week).

I'm trying to find similar info. There isn't much talk on you tube about the first 2 weeks or so after surgery. I'd appreciate any help or ideas that could be shared as well!

Thank you all so much! I read about the parts of your lives that you all have shared, and your openness and kindness have inspired me and keep me moving forward. I appreciate all of the words of encouragement and for allowing me to peek into your successes, learnings, struggles, and occasional rants! You all make me more…

Yesterday was my final dietician appointment. I met my goal! 70 lbs down! I'm now at a safe BMI for surgery (based on my surgeon's requirements). I can't believe that I made it! Now I'm just waiting to be notified when they submit to insurance and when insurance approves me!
-
Prayers and best of luck to you. It sounds like you are doing all of your prep work well! I understand the fear of not being prepared. I hate not being in control or knowing exactly what to expect. I may be over preparing (from increasing my life insurance to already packing my recovery luggage for staying with family).…

Thank you sooooo much lexiJ95 and behnybaby!! I am much closer now...9lbs to go in 2 weeks. I noticed that my hands are a little swollen so I'm going to have to take a diuretic and start in on the advocare fiber again. Tic toc tic toc!

My BHAG: I want to complete a color run in 1yr. I also want to shop in a regular clothes store by spring!

Yay! Thoughts and prayers for a smooth and speedy recovery!

Ok, I'm not sure if I'm alone on this or not, but my body can no longer hold to the one a month period idea! Since I've been losing weight my body likes to ovulate like a ninja and give me the fun of random, unpredictable crime scenes! I appologize to any boys reading this...but I have to rant.

Yay that's awesome!! Great job creepykbear!! What an amazing accomplishment. My hubby isn't able to take time off (new job), so I'm planning on staying with my parents to recover! Yay two weeks of being babied! It's amazing having parents who are professional caregivers. That will definitely make my recovery easier to…

Yay only three more lbs...you got this! How exciting! I still have 18lbs to go and 2 more dietician visits (6 weeks). I'll send a friend request! Good luck!!

Thank you all so much!!! I appreciate your help and support! Safety is definitely my number one focus, followed by mental and emotional preparations. I've never had a surgery of any kind, so I also have a healthy fear level. I'm also gonna try to mix up my exercise routine a bit. Time to close the pool for the year, so…

Thanks 2Poufs! I need a little optimism! That is a good way to look at it. As it gets closer and closer, it continues to amaze me how much of the process is psychological!
