Yup, sorry, wasn't saying that there weren't already plenty here :) Just haven't really had a good introduction to that. Yeah, I get that now; I guess I'm just not shady enough for it to have even occurred to me haha It's a bit of a shame really about the community. I understand that it can be frustrating when people are…

All of the above advice is good. You could also try a refeed and see if that helps. A refeed isn't the same as a cheat meal, and takes a bit of calculation to figure out, but it helps raise your leptin levels if you've been in a deficit for a long time. A really quick explanation is you increase your overall calories for…

Like a lot of people have said, measuring/weighing just kind of becomes second nature. Habits can be hard to form and also hard to break, depending on how long you've been doing the behaviour that contradicts the new habit. Applaud any progress and don't get down on yourself. Keep trying to incorporate consistent tracking…

As far as I can tell, anybody can message anybody at any time, whether they post about it or not, but that's what the moderators are for - to moderate. I'm sure they can see my messages and I have no interest in soliciting anybody for profit, I'm actually just a nice person that cares.

Fair enough but that wasn't really the vibe that I got from his post. The OP can decide for herself what advice she wants to take and I know that, even as a professional, there will be some person from the peanut gallery dismissing my advice. She said that she didn't feel comfortable with the responses she was getting, and…

Can you just not track your exercise in MFP? That's what I did so it wouldn't offset my calories.
-
It's amazing! The whipped texture just takes it to another level.

Promote my "services" - as in, exchange for money? No. Forums can get cluttered and clearly insulting. I wasn't offering anything to a group so I didn't know that I had to prove my accomplishments to the "we" you are alluding to.

I believe you can change the settings. I don't even input my activity because I can't be bothered.

Try to ignore the immaturity and flippant comments. There are helpful people here :) If you want help with anything feel free to message me.

And this...

That can be a vicious cycle and kind of damaging. I really don't like the idea of "earning" your calories. Bottom line is that your weekly deficit is more important than your daily. That being said, you should be consistent if you want results. If you are consistent, one meal out of many isn't going to derail your efforts,…

Unfortunately, it is harder every time you gain weight back. So many studies to reference here... however, to answer your question, yes it's harder but possible. I would dial back your weight loss goal to .5lb per week and go for the long haul. Drastic weight loss means higher restrictions, which means you're more likely…

Nope. You're training for life, might as well enjoy it. My diet is 80% nutrient dense foods and I leave room for treats on the daily. I never feel deprived, never feel like I have to "cheat", and every couple of weeks I may have a meal that I just don't track, but I still keep my head on straight and don't order the whole…

No worries!! Happy to help :)

What day do we wear pink??

The. Horror.

If you're still stuck after two weeks (if you haven't already been) I would calculate your TDEE on an external source (plenty out there, message me if you want suggestions) and then using that to calculate a deficit (500 cal deficit is what you should aim for). :)

I'm learning so much today! First day at school... I don't even know where to sit.

Cycles can do a lot of damage to your metabolism, so just be patient. I would suggest going to someone who is actually certified in giving you nutrition advice. I'm a personal trainer and I know that a lot of people like to say that they are qualified, or even have taken a course that gives them some education, but I would…
-
Just that some people don't know how to calculate a deficit properly. 1200 seems low to me but I don't know your stats
-
I hope the forums are this friendly everyday.
-
Recalculate after 6 weeks, and do it manually.
-
YES
-
Awesome! Do you keep a consistent intake?
-
No, that's not bad, and it's an annoying feature of MFP. You should calculate your intake/deficit based on how active you are, and set it in MFP accordingly.
-
Yes, but it all depends on your deficit. Stick to a conservative deficit of 500 calories a day between nutrition and exercise, or an overall 3500 calorie/week deficit.
