@marthall thanks for your response. Encouragement is definitely helpful!! @craigo3154 thank you for your response too! A lot to read and reflect on. I'll try out some type of strength training for a couple weeks and playing around with the food scale and I will keep you posted on my progress!

Pass day #2.... better get myself together here! I was on track up until dinner. Went out to a really fancy place with 2 of my friends and lets just say I would have been fine calorie wise if I had just boxed up half my meal. Next time I'm asking for a box as soon as we get our food. I did disfigure my dessert at a certain…

Wow! Thanks for the food scale tips!! I never even thought it could be that easy. I thought I was going to have to measure everything individually to get the measurements right but just taring and adding the next thing sounds so effortless! Much easier than what I was going to do! I know my calories are low and it is set…

@craigo3154 I am 27 years old, 5'0, 175-180 lbs depending on the day, calories are between 1200-1320 with eating 25-50% of exercise calories back, I have MFP set to lose 1 lb a week As far as my activity. I work a desk job but try to get at least 7k steps before I leave work. And I ride my horse 5-6 days a week (MFP says I…

@deannalfisher I feel every time I change it to lightly active it gives me wayyy more calories and then I end up eating too much. Versus eating just a portion of my exercise calories back that I get from fitbit and MFP once they are synced.

@janejellyroll : Thanks, that's the hope @cmriverside : That was my hope. That I can keep making the food I love to make but instead of making it every day or every other day I can make a big batch and then vacuum seal and store for later. The containers I currently have are not keeping the food as fresh as I would like so…

Not particularly happy with my weight at this point in the game. I have been tracking my food but I've never actually used a food scale. Just measuring cups and such. But my weight keeps bouncing between losing and gaining the same 4 lbs. I mean I'm glad I haven't kept gaining more weight than that but since January.....…

@LoraineGB I almost ran into the same issue yesterday. Why that habit is so alluring, I don't understand. I just try to rationalize with myself that no food is off limits and that seems to help. Like it isn't the last time I will be able to eat a cookie or a nice burger I just have to log it and work around those items and…

Tomorrow's the day! I've been logging all week (even on my mini vacation this past weekend) and getting active to prepare me for this challenge. I'm excited and I feel that I am setting myself up for success. I may feel impatient.. no weight loss so far but I have to be patient and trust in the process.

I eat mostly low carb so I use ruled.me for my recipes and I'm never disappointed. Made their Twice baked potato style Zucchini boats... and they were amazing. Also if you find a recipe you like and go to the 'Recipe' tab on MFP you can enter the link and they will try and match the ingredients for you.

Hey, I'm Cassandra. I have lost 40 lbs in the past with MFP and a back injury almost 2 years ago put me into the "woe is me" mind set, and gained it all back. I didn't join any groups the first time around but this time I am finding it harder to keep to my plan. I'm hoping by joining a group like this that it will help…

Thanks for your response! Yeah thats what I've been reading that backstroke is the best. It also said walking in the pool is good so long as the water is at the middle of my chest or higher. I'm definitely going to start slowly. Just 10-15 minutes at first and see how I feel the next day, I'm trying to get back to riding…

I'm 5'0 as well. I have lost 30 lbs and have 20 lbs left to go. It took me almost a year to lose the 30 lbs. But I wanted to make sure all my habits suck. Now that I am in the routine of logging and working out I am going to be more aggressive and try to lose the last 20 lbs by October 20th (My bday gift to myself :-) )…

LOL this is funny! I actually don't really notice anyone else at the gym... I'm there to lift bro...
-
I knew I was losing weight when everyone started asking me what I was doing because I was disappearing :-) I knew I was losing weight because I had to dig through my closet (along with my friend's LOL) for smaller clothes I knew I was getting stronger because I can lift more and actually run now I knew I made a lifestyle…

For me it was my horse's vet telling me he was going to get hurt if I didn't lose weight. It still is hard but I make progress photos whenever I'm feeling down and unmotivated. I'm down 28 lbs. But it took me a year. But that's a good pace for me. I started with the goal of going to the gym 1 day a week and now I'm up to…

My horse's vet told me I needed to lose weight for HIS health! OUCH! I wasn't going to be the cause of any of my horse's injuries. So 26 lbs down 15-20 lbs to go!
-
I wanted to lose weight for a while. I was pretty chunky at 5'0 and 180 lbs. I wouldn't let people take pictures of me and honestly I just didn't care all that much.... until my horse's vet told me I had to lose weight if I wanted him to stay healthy! OUCH! So I'm down 26 lbs (154 lbs) so far and working out has helped my…

It would only give me my BMI LOL!!! I am 5'0 and 25 years old (CW:155 lbs). And when I pressed calculate it just listed BMI... Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, your recommended weight is 94.7 lbs - 128.0 lbs And personally my goal weight is between 130-135 lbs. I ride horses 3-4 times a week and I lift weigths 3…

Honestly I would say 4 lbs in a month is pretty good! I am not nearly as versed as most of the people on MFP. But some things for me personally I've realized is when I don't drink enough water I tend to hold on to weight. Also, I would strongly recommend taking your measurements. I usually see a change in my measurements…

LOL! I've never ridden a motorcycle but it is slightly different than a moving chair. You don't have to worry about your chair using its eject button because a plastic bag just flew by! And your motorcycle has a motor and an accelerator. Our gas pedal is our legs and our seat. If you just sit there... well... the horse…

I ride hunter/jumper. Yes it is a cardio workout, but when I put it in my tracker for an hour it only burns roughly 300 calories. I do it between 3-5 days a week. And I try to get as many horses as I can. I also work a desk job and pretty much sit for 12 hours a day, plus I'm a part time student.... lots and lots of…
