So true that it rarely tastes as good as what I'm expecting. I find that eating one In n Out French fry when my husband eats them makes me realize that and not feel deprived. This may not work for all foods.

I used to eat breakfast religiously but now i just have a large mug of tea with 1T cream. My first meal is lunch except on Sundays when we go out to breakfast at about 9am. But on Sundays I'm not usually hungry for and skip lunch.

I aim for 20 grams (not net) but I don't sweat it if I go a few over. Usually 1 day a week, I don't track so probably am higher that day.

Are you insulin resistant, diabetic or pre-diabetic? It can take a while for keto diet changes to start showing up on the scale. Not everyone has a big initial loss. I personally feel it helped me to eat more fat initially and not worry so much about calories.

Too late now but I've found it better to not tell extended family and friends what I'm doing diet-wise. Often they feel self conscious about what they are eating in front of you. There is a lot of talk online about too much protein causing insulin. However, I've heard Dr Hickman quote studies that show protein only causes insulin in SAD diets and not really a problem with low carb fat adapted people.

Are you subtracting fiber from your carbs? Net carbs make it easier to stay in carb limits and I would reccomend doing that when you're first starting out.

I have a big cup of tea every morning. I use 2 teabags 1 green tea for the health benefits and then black, chai or earl grey for taste. With a T heavy cream, some Toarani sugar free flavored syrup (right now Salted Caramel) and a pkt of Truvia.

I eat keto but my husband just tries to eat less carbs and my mom (who lives with us) loves all carbs. So I usually eat protein and veg and just add carbs to their meal (potato, rice etc) as desired. If i make something like tacos or spaghetti, i put my meat and sauce over cauli rice instead of tortillas or pasta.

I don't specifically try to hit a certain calorie limit. Yet I find when I eat keto when hungry and stop before I get too full, I usually end up about the same calories as when I used to do only CICO.
