Id love more friends here :)

While that's fantastic for a day, you could be missing a lot more than the app tell you. You might get 100% of your vitamin A, C, calcium and whatever... But what about zinc? Vitamin B? Antioxidants? A good rule of thumb is to eat 30 different foods a week (Which might be ambitious for most people). It's great once or…

I scecond "nice cream". I'm not a vegan but I can't stop making them. Don't need that ice cream maker, just a blender/good processor, but throw some fruit in it and freeze it!

Weight doesn't dissapear evenly. My upper body has shed the pounds but my target area (gut and thighs) has barely changed shape at all. My collar bone has become more defined but I've barely lost an inch waist-wise ):(

It seems quite a few of you do this too, so I'm glad. But if I'm more than maybe 200 over my goal I'll log some stuff for the next day instead.

It might sound pretty lame, but my favorite smoothies are just random fruits blended together with a banana or two as a base. Just experiment with whatever! Blend a couple plums (or whatevers) together for a plum smoothie. Add a banana for a creamier base. Freeze it for an hour if it's too runny. Try different fruits, and…

A good argument if you only but it for the protein, but if you want it for the taste and low cals I would say go for it. It still had a lot of vitamins and almost 50% of your daily calcium requirement per cup

I hear soy can mess with hormones but i really like vanilla almond milk! I wouldn't suggust drinking it plain (it's not *that* good) but in oatmeal, cereal, hot chocolate sort of stuff I can't tell a difference :)

I like to plan out my day meals in advance. Snacking is usually the thing that kills me, as is drinking calories. Next time you go shopping try to switch out some foods for lower cal options. Milk for almond milk, regular yogurt for greek or other low cal stuff.... Read your labels. And I would recommend working your way…

I would start by increasing your goal by about 200 a week. If you loose weight with it, raise it again. If you maintain, you found your perfect daily goal. It can sometimes be a weird mental thing if you suddenly jump up in your calories too so it makes a nice transition while finding your perfect calorie amount

Bread has more than you might think. Not a ton like some suggust foods, but it's still really underrated. Don't listen to mfp's suggestion for protein though. The cdc says most people need 40-60grams per day.
-
Maybe 5lbs? I only want to loose another 5-10 more and I've been takin it really slow, but I'm happy with my progress!
-
i don't know where you got that 2-3 part, but most sources I've going suggust 40-60g per day for most people

You sound like an awesome person. There are obnoxious people on both sides of the food spectrum. I wish more vegans were like you though- not preaching their lifestyle. And I wish your friends respected your choice as much a a you do theirs.

I aim for 100-200 lower than my goal in preparation for "oops" or cheat days. I just changed from about 1750 to 1500. I like to keep my breakfasts small (250ish-cal) and keep lunch under or at 500. Then it's a no pressure for dinner- I can usually eat whatever and ad small snacks or a small desert as needed. I never count…

Not vegan bashing. They asked for our opinions and these are them

I'm a fan of raw till 4, but not horribly find of 80-10-10, but I haven't had any experience with the second. Raw till 4 is nice, since if you are low on certain nutritional needs (protein, vitamins, whatever) you are able to get then easily for dinner without worrying about it being raw, so it's a little more stress free…

I usually get around 10-15 percent protein (usually close to 12), but that's still around 40-50grams for me (so I meet my daily requirement the CDC says I need). Honestly I don't know where I get it. I don't plan for it or anything. It just happens. A good percentage of mine is from breads, actually (a super underrated…

Whoop whoop atl ;) hope you find someone- but it's not really my thing at the moment

Butter and cinnamon. Gosh I sound so lame compared I some of you all
-
Good, but not worth the calories to me. There are other high cal things I save my treats for
-
Awesome! I try to keep my breakfasts under 300cals so this is great :) can't wait to try it
-
I don't label my diet (too restrictive), but I eat no meat eggs or milk, and try to avoid other dairy products if convenient. Anyone can add me
-
The cdc says men need around 56g of protein (give or take a couple). MFP has it set way too high. Unless your trying to do a high protein diet, I suggust ignoring or changing it.

Based on personal experience, I have to disagree that being a vegetarian in the north in winter is difficult (can't speak for veganism). Maybe that's just because I'm so used to it- that it's second nature for me to skim over meats- but pasta, vegetable teryaki, pizza, hashbrowns, burritos... All vegetrian and common in…

I have nothin wrong with veganism. I'm jut a step away myself (vegetarian with no eggs or milk). I like the idea of it, and I'm a huge fan of vegetarianism. It's a lot more sustainable. The only problem I have with veganism is are the people. Not all of them! But they have a pretty large radical side where all meat eaters…
