I buy all the shopping in our house so at least I don't have to worry about random snacks turning up. I will still buy my OH his treats and snacks because he's not trying to lose weight like I am. As for support though, my OH swings between not caring less and telling me I can do better [this from a man who uses the…

Well done on the run :-) My run buddy and I are planning a 9 km run tomorrow evening which will my first ever of that length too. We've been running about 36 mins for 4.5 km so a sub-80 mins would be good but is doubtful. Only aim is to finish and not stop on the way :-)

I also have an OH who eats whatever he likes whenever he likes. He's Type 1 diabetic so we always have things like small chocolate bars or jelly sweets in the house in case his glucose gets low (which probably wouldn't be neccesary if he managed his condition better but he won't be told) so temptation is always within…

I do running 2-3 times per week at around 40 minutes per session and strength training another 2-3 days at about 60 minutes each. I find I seem to be losing more weight due to the running rather than the strength training, but the strength training has definitely made me stronger and, in turn, a better runner.

I tried cooking dried red kidney beans from scratch and it was too much hassle for me so now I just buy tins of cooked kidney beans. They just need draining and a quick rinse and then adding towards the end of whatever I'm cooking to heat them through. So much easier.

Having done 20 km and 30 km for July and August respectively, I'm in this month for 40 km

I have a 10 minute walk home from the gym so I just use that as my cool down and a large glass of water when I get in.

My running speed and especially my form has improved hugely since adding strength training to my running regime. I put it down to improved strength in my calves, quads, hamstrings and abdominal muscles.

Last run of the month yesterday (3km) to bring me up to 36km this month. Would never have thought even at the beginning of this year that I would be able to run that much in a month.

I bought a new pair of jeans and a new button up shirt today in a size smaller than I used to take and there wasn't a single muffin top or gaping button hole in sight :-)

Powered over the finish line with a distance PB of 6.67 km in 53.46. Not too shabby when my first ever 5km was 45 mins. Now to power through the last of this year's Easter eggs :-)

A ring that I habitually wear was originally bought for my left ring finger but now I wear it on the middle finger and I found today that it even fits on my (bigger) right middle finger. I reckon that's about 2-3 ring sizes lost.

Managed to blitz my first km in 6:49 min and an average pace of 7.26 mins/km in tonight's 4.6km run.

Two thirds done :-)

Plan out your meals and snacks and make a list of what food you need for those meals before you go shopping. Do not impulse buy. Buy meats and fish in bulk and freeze what you don't need immediately as it normally works out cheaper. Buy whole joints and portion them yourself (whole chicken, gammon joint etc) rather than…

On days where I'm feeling particularly tired (like today *yawn*), I listen to my gym playlist on the way home to get myself pumped up a little. Normally by the time I've finished my warmup, I've shaken out the cobwebs and am more up for it.

A really hard run yesterday lunchtime. Hot, humid and heavy but got round the full 5km ☺
