But doughnuts have the insulin effect and the vegetables do not. The spike of insulin would differ no matter the calories amount, sugar is the variable, the amount the kind, and how it's broken down. THE END

Yes, when your body needs it. That is why it's produced in the first place, but the body doesn't know that you would or wouldn't be trying to increase it.
-
I would think energy levels in the body, would certainly affect someone's hormones, recovery, epatite and actual workout. The problem is I can say these things, but you believe they are too small in the overal picture, and don't matter, so why go into more detail. Not to mention 5 mins ago meal timing wasn't even real, or…

A candy bar would give a huge amount of energy fast, while the same calorie amount of broccoli is broken down slower and gives a steady amount energy. Thus the difference between simple and complex carbs, not to mention the health benefits. The only way I can see someone really utilizing a candy bar.cookie, ice cream, or…

While that is true, the speeds of digestion differs greatly, and if you don't believe this please stop posting.

Carbs maybe carbs only when categorizing,, but they surely don't do the same thing. Just as a calorie is categorized as proteins, fats, carbs. The chain in the molecule makes them different.
-
That drives me nuts also. when the green line is still left in those macros(like protein for example) meaning they were not hit.

How is this thread not about CICO(calories in calories out) when the topic is about calories being a calorie? The dates you are looking for by the way are Nov 2nd to whenever you want to stop looking. Also, yes there is such a thing as a empty calorie. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empty_calorie even the USDA says so.

It was more than a weekend you did it for like 14 days, the journal does not lie, plus it was even before that particular weekend started. The idea of a bulk is to gain as much as muscle with little fat as possible. Why bulk with high caloric dense foods that do nothing for you to build muscle? Do you really believe…

I tried on a steak bomb once, and it ruined my $10.00 sandwich. I dislike it as well.

The program mentioned, (to me) sounds more of a program of a power lifter. I'd also advise finding a program to better suit what your goal is. If it's strength, heavy weight less reps is for you, if it's for building muscle; moderate reps with moderate weight is right for you. This is the 8-12 rep range, and the 12 rep…

I love eating apples with peanut butter , that way I get some fruit in for micros/fiber, loads of protein, good fats. If you already had the peanut butter measured to a certain table spoon amount, it's a lot easier than putting in on bread because the apples are sweet, and it' makes it so much easier going down. Celery…

Well the OP added me as a friend, looks like he understood it pretty well to me.
-
It's hard to believe you're a mod. I'm pretty sure I gave advice based on the OP's criteria not YOUR criteria ! . I'll quote them again so you can "make sense of it, be unconfused". I also took in consideration his believes and what he wrote on being fat from bulking, so my advice and the advice should be based on that,…

Bulking in reality is a body building process, that was meant for people that go on stage, and are very close to their genetic potential. If you have only been lifting for 1-3 years it's really not recommended to bulk, it's better to "recomp" or stay at maintenance while building a good foundation of muscle, while learning…

It's a hard topic since you said you don't have time to workout. Are you doing anything resistance wise to build muscle, or do you only care about the scale going up? Unfortunately, you won't be able to pick where the mass goes on your body unless you use some resistance. Weights are the only way to help guide body parts…

It's funny that you think you're getting all your nutritional needs when most of the time you're getting upwards to 1000 calories from alcohol and food with high sugar. Hard to take what you say serious when you don't practice what you preach at all. Nice journal.

There are plenty of benefits from additional carbs in which i really don't think you understand, so I will list a few reasons to start with: 1. This is probably the most obvious reason, but carbs (and yes sugars) are a very easy source of calories (I will discuss more in a bit on this). 2. Since carbs spike insulin, this…

I answered your question, unless you mean the 100 grams of fiber? What food and quantity of that food is giving you this amount of fiber? It's not a realistic question and impossible to answer! Yes, calories are king, but not empty calories that can and do raise blood sugar levels. Or calories that can and do cause fat to…
-
The problem is you won't eat 100 grams of fiber. So, it's not even possible to answer. If you gave an actual food it would be easier to answer. 100 grams of fiber is a lot to achieve. Instead I'll use the Oreo's and ice cream recommendation you always leave. If you ate 6 oreos, and most of the calories are fat, carbs and…

I'm really confused, insulin spikes is your answer for filling calories, that is food timing. I thought you believe all calorie are the same, pretty sure we discussed this before, oh yeah it fits your argument now. How interesting. My answer to your question is that you don't know the absorption rate, and if we are talking…
-
I'll answer your question like this, what is the extra benefit of adding more carbs, (especially processed empty calories like Oreo's) if the body can only store some much glycogen. What do you think will happen if you already had enough glycogen at 2000 calories and you still have 1000 more calories to go. Also, if we are…
-
Yeah, there is nothing wrong with recommending foods loaded with sugar once in a while. What I'm curious about is if the Oreo's become a stable of the persons diet. If they eat crap foods just to fill everyday or not. Oreo's, Ice-cream, so nutritious, no fiber, processed to death, insignificant macros and micros, nothing…

If you can get butter that was made from grass feed cows, it's extremely good for you. There is an Irish brand called Kerrygold, it's a little pricy but it has. Vit a,d,e, f, k2, lecithin, omega 3 and omega 6 lauric acid. The only other food sources that have lauric acid in it is coconut oil and breast milk. But the butter…

If you're looking friends try updating your profile and picture, that will help to gain more friends. Also, if you add someone tell them why, don't just friend request. Some people will add you as a friend and never like anything you say or talk to you. Some people need lots of friends for motivation some need none. I…

The truth? It takes many, many, many years of consistency to gain muscle like a real body builder being natty, with resistance training, a combination being well recovered and a good diet, so on so forth... If that picture was taken with no pump, you're already doing what you need to do and doing it well, better than some…

What you're saying is very untrue about 1000 calories of carrots being equal to a 1000 calories of Poptarts as a energy standpoint! The main reason is nutritional value, but the second reason how the energy is broken(absorbed) insulin spikes and other factors when being used in the body. The vast amounts of sugar/calories…

Straw man argument? One could say you're arguing to argue. My original statement: "I think the most annoying thing I often see with gaining weight ( or anything with fitness.) People that state " sugar and sodium amounts do not matter, a calorie is just a calorie." Pretty annoying statements and really bad advice." You…
