Between makeup sorcery and photoshop we can all disguise our actual appearance!

Not at all. Diet will make or break you in general but especially so if cardio isn't a factor. Keep your calories on target and you'll still lean out.

I generally find I can't and and need real food but on days where I've have a large meal or am not that hungry I can. This or a protein bar as I think the chewing makes me feel more satisfied. As long as you're not starving yourself I don't see how it could be bad.

Hahah! In Humbolt that's bound to be hard. Good luck and you can do it!

Came here to say this...

I'm in agreement. Never really noticed this but will now live with the paranoia-constantly assessing...

Any kind of commentary on meals at all is just asinine. I have a woman at work that only eats heavily processed foods, is always on a diet, yet never successful and she's told me, "Iiiiiiick. That's disgusting!" When I'm eating smoked salmon, or other healthy lunch options. Um. I CLEARLY enjoy it so why the need to…

I wouldn't really ask for help as I squat in a power rack. If I ever felt I needed to I would ask one of the many regulars at the gym. No awkwardness there. There's a certain comraderee and they see me at some of my most awkward states already...why not add one more to the list!

I do. Anyone feel free to add me. Same username.

I love the challenge of Squats and Deads but the lift after my heart is the Barbell Hip Thrust. Seeing a direct correlation to adding weight to my lifts and added mass is incredible. Awkward as all hell some times but soooo worth it.

I used to love ON until I tried the Muscle Pharm Combat in Cookies and cream and haven't looked back. It tastes like a milkshake! At 140 calories, 25g of protein, and $45 for 5lbs at Costco I'm sold!

Well you can have some, but not ALL of it. I personally don't understand the concept behind cheat days/meals, as the notion of completely letting go and consuming all the calories does not jive. I KNOW I'll have to work all of it off later...that is always in the back of my head on the occasion I'm splurging. I just try to…

I'm very interested in the replies as I've been wanting to start to train KM and to become a weapon! Currently on a 5-7 day of lifting and 4-5 days of cardio per week. When I get to my goal...within 10 lbs I'm gonna get serious about it! Would love to see what others do...Thanks for starting this thread!

Oddly enough, I'm a bit of a tomboy but since I lift and am pretty muscular I like the balance. Just pushing the envelope and breaking stereotypes. Girls that lift heavy can be girlie too!

Valid. But this new fangled "class" has a horrendous reputation of not being a stickler on form, which one NEEDS to be when hurling large amounts of weight toward your neck. See how risk increases vs "everyday life" scenarios? Form over all else...so as long as you're at a gym that puts proper emphasis on form and avoiding…

After going inexpensive for about three years I just splurged and bought this for half off. It's pricey, but I love the style and don't feel so disheveled to/from the gym. Looking stylish when I feel my least stylish is also a plus! http://m.nike.com/us/en_us/pd/victory-gym-tote-bag/pid-10267112/pgid-1496129

I think numbers are hard to really get accurate. I'd put about as much faith in that as the number my stairclimber gives me. I think it's a pretty generous overestimate, but perhaps I'm just a cynic...

I'm a mom of two. I lift 5-7 a week and do cardio 4-5 times a week. I'm not perfect either but subscribe to the 80/20 philosophy and it helps to keep me happy and on track. I'd love some ladies focused on the end result and not just the number on the scale!
-
I had to google to find the packaging. I don't recall seeing these at my Costco but I will have to take a look and give them a try. Thanks!

I don't think it matters when as long as you're consistent. I like checking first thing in the morning because you haven't consumed anything that will skew the number. That's just me and I'm sure that there are plenty of reasons why other people don't do it this way. Just personal preference.

That's quite a chunk of calories for a bar!!! Does that feel you up and keep you satiated?

I'm not yet 40 but I lift and love the look of strong, defined shoulders and quads on a female and hope to make mine as amazing as I can get them. I envy, and look up to competition ladies but can and never will be able to do it. Plus off season competition chicks=perfection. Just the right muscle:body fat ratio in my…
