I need to start exercising, moving....so I will start to measure my steps. It is so cold outside and I am back to work post surgery, so it will not be easy but I need to start creating a new routine for my new life.

Thanks, yeah I want this change in my life to be more than just weight loss. I have been a vegetarian for more around 30 years and before that limited meat. That part is easy, moving away from processed flour products and cheese is my hurdle. Going to start with limiting and evolving away more and more over time......will…

I had RNY on 12/18, HW 255 SW 239, CW 225, I am 56 and 5'4". I have to admit I am bummed that once I started on pureed food I am only losing around half a lb each week. But I do realize that I lost a lot the first two weeks so the slow down may be expected. I have to start moving more! The good news is I feel great!

Congrats! Yeah I had to do clear liquids for three weeks due to some issues. It was horrible! I did find making broths with a lot of flavor from veggies and 'meats' then strained helped me. (I don't eat meat, so they were mock ham/sausage made of tofu) Got really sick of the protein sweet drinks. Nectar Grapefruit helped…

Thanks! Yeah, I am evolving in clean eating now. As much as possible. We will see how it goes. I am a vegetarian but need to cut out a lot to change my old habits.

My whole family is about food....every gathering, activity involves food. I am hoping I can inspire eating healthier items and display you can limit what you eat. But do find things you can do without food as the center activity, like stated above. Did pedi/mani with my sister and no lunch date. Went to the movies with my…

Good point, I am looking at a more plant based/clean eating regimen. That might require more calories in the long run.

Thanks all, something for me to look forward to as I evolve into a more mature post op period. : )

Me too, seeing the doctor this afternoon and hoping to evolve out of clear liquids. Best of luck!

Hi everyone, my name is Dawn. I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years. My children and grandchildren have all been raised this way and have a strong love of animals. I am very overweight and really have to get back to basics. Looking to evolve to a more clean/green eating and as much vegan as possible. Move away from…

Thanks, being ultra careful (now) with four ounces of protein drinks over 4 hour, seems to be working well. I can also tell feel when even 2 or three ounces is triggering a upset. Thanks for all the advice.....taking it slow and fingers are crossed. Also found Flinstone vitamins don't trigger anything, I know they are not…

Thanks all, I did have directions that I am following but there was never any mention of foam coming up from the stomach. I did speak to my doctor the first time and she advised what I did, which was return to water only when I could drink was correct and to not take my chewable vitamin which was prescribed. Thinking it…

Appreciate reading all the advice. My surgery is on Dec 19th and still trying to figure out how to get through the first few stages of fluids/purees. Thanks!

Never tried it but might now, I think most protein mixes can be warmed as long as it isn't too high of a heat. Meaning I microwave mine 20 minutes at a time and repeat as needed but only to a warm temp. I have this old recipe I thought of trying this year too, just add non-flavored protein as needed. EGGNOG 1 cup fat-free…

Thanks for the advice, I have made up my mind to go on the journey. going to do all I can to keep up my health with the knowledge that my already very thin hair may get worse and skin will of course be a issue. I believe the journey is worth it considering I am 100lbs over weight. The rest will just have to be something I…
