I have a friend who had lap band surgery and was very used to eating small amounts of food....EXCEPT that she could easily eat two pieces of pizza, or more, and some cake. My conclusion was that she was eating WAY more than she thought she was. In any case, just eat all your calories. You've gotten some good suggestions…

If MFP set you at 1,200 (I'm assuming you don't have much to lose, or you're very short, or you're trying to lose weight really fast and set MFP at 2 lbs a week) then eat all those calories. And it back ALL your exercise calories. And see what happens over the next month. Calm down and just eat. You will likely lose weight…

My bad. Math is not my strong suit, obviously.

21 lbs in 6 weeks? Seriously?

First of all, breathe. You can do this, even if you aren't able to move about a lot. But if you're like me, as you lose you will be able to move more and more. I felt quite disabled until I lost weight. I started out at 270, had all sorts of health problems, most of which have improved with my weight loss. Second, your…

Follow MFP. Eat all your calories. Record every single bite every single day. Never skip logging. Eat back your exercise calories. And don't kill yourself drinking water--it's possible overdo it. 64 oz (gallon) is the standard recommendation, but this includes the water in food and other drinks.
-
64 oz (gallon) of water a day is a loose recommendation for everyone, but this includes the water in your food and water in other things that you drink. You may not be able to tolerate drinking so much water, esp. if you drink other things like tea, coffee, sodas, etc. This alone could cause swelling. My fingers/hands…

You need about 50 grams of protein a day. You should have no problem getting that if you eat a healthy vegan diet. But eating a healthy diet won't make you lose weight, vegan or not. As others have said, you have to be in a calorie deficient. One poster mentioned that it's more than CICO. This is not true, exactly. What is…

When you set my MFP goals, did you put in "male" or female?" There's no way MFP gave you 1,200 calories if you're a man. You should be getting the "you're not eating enough message every day." Unless you have a medical problem, it is impossible for you to eat 1,200 calories and not lose weight. Which means you are eating…

I log every single bite. Nibbles can add up very quickly. Of course, I don't really nibble a lot. I EAT.
-
I know you've probably heard this, but sometimes, for some people, the numbers just don't add up. I've had no problem losing weight, but I have a friend who has had a terrible time--she eats far, far less than I and exercises far more, and yet her losses have been tiny. We had close stats, but obviously her metabolism is…

When I started MFP last year, I knew, without any doubt, that I would need to record my food every single day, every single bite, for the rest of my life. This was the missing piece from the times I'd lost and regained before. I always thought, when this is over I can get back to normal! Now, I never say "diet" and I say…

I think, because you maintained the lower weight easily before, it might be helpful for you to figure out what changed. Are you very stressed? Stress alone can cause weight changes. Did you start moving less? If so, then you may just need to add that movement back in and give things some time. It is true that you will lose…

Good luck!

Rest from exercise?

Here's what I did--I set my goal at 1 lb a week. I ate all the calories MFP gave me. I ate back all my exercise calories. I ate whatever I wanted, not worrying about "healthy" at all. And I logged EVERY SINGLE BITE. I still do. I've lost 89 lbs. Good luck.
-
Well, I get REALLY hungry when I move a lot, but I get to eat more, so win win.

It is not that hard to get your protein. You only need about 50 grams a day, more or less. Sprouted-wheat bread (I recommend Alveredo St. Bakery California Loaf) Potatoes. Rice. Beans. Peas. Tofu. Nuts. Nut butters. Pea protein. 5 x Protein Almond Milk. IF your diet is well-balanced, then you will get enough protein. Most…

I lost twice as fast as predicted at first. Then, right on target. The reason that this varies for everyone is because even when we weigh our food and do the same exercise every single day, the body is not in a constant state. There are fluctuations in hormone and water balance, metabolism shifts, etc. And calorie counts…

Exercise makes me feel great. That's why I do it. And I do love eating the extra calories.

I go over a lot, on a lot of days, but I log everything. I don't hide the reality from myself. If you need to pig out, then do it, no matter how much you eat. It's okay. But log every bite and pay attention to what you're doing. It feels weird to say, "I'm choosing to eat all the chips in this bag," but it keeps you…

Why are you eating 1,200 calories? Did MFP give you 1,200, or have you determined this on your own? The questions janejellyroll asked are spot on--you must log properly and you must log every, single day, every single bite. And you must be patient. It's only been two weeks. It can take up to six weeks to see results.

I have a personal trainer, for now, as long as I can afford her. But, as WBB55 said, weight loss is more about food than movement. The trick to losing weight is to start, right now. Log your food. The trick to beginning to exercise is to START, right now. All you have to do is move--walk, dance. Jump up and down. You don't…

If you have a motility issue, then it may not be any specific food. Do you have trouble with nausea?

What is your question exactly?

The recipe builder is your best friend. You can create a recipe--add your own ingredients and set how many servings there are. But When I do "too much" smoothie, I just drink half and save the other half for later. (to revive, just blend with ice) So, if my normal smoothie is 300 calories, then half of the "too much"…

Have you had the breath tests for SIBO, Lactose Intolerance, and Fructose Mal-absorption? These are simple tests. My insurance covered them. I also had a full food panel done--wasn't allergic to anything. Here is my constipation cure--warm prune juice, about 5 oz., every morning. I also have a dose of Miralax in my hot…

It isn't unusual for your loss to slow as you lose weight. You have to be patient.

I wish we could go to the gym together.

Ugofatcat--I love it when people take the time to communicate well. Thanks for this.
