Hi Mary! Although I am not currently in recovery mode, but I had a double mastectomy with tram flap procedure almost 11 years ago in my early 30's. Kudo's to you for wanting to improve your health in recovery and good luck in your journey. Feel free to add me if you like.

Try going to MFP menu and choose Steps. Then choose Fitbit Tracker as your device if you haven't already done so to see if this helps.

I find free videos on YouTube such as Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Punds and Jessica Smith's walk videos.

I add them to my cereal, salads, pancake and muffin mixes.

If you keep having them, then there is a monitor you can wear for 30 days called an Event Monitor. If you're not having these palpitations daily, it is hard to catch them on a 24 hr monitor.

Maybe this is your excuse to buy one of those designer bands by Tori Burch on the fitbit.com. :) I would like one but for $140?? ((faint)).

I did the same this week as I noticed when I grabbed the hand rails a majority of my steps were not counted. Since I have let my fitbit arm swing when walking, it seems more accurate.
