  • My usual weekday breakfast I take to work is: -6 oz plain nonfat greek yogurt -1.5 oz fresh blueberries -50g Kashi original go lean cereal I eat a lower-fat diet, so the high protein/high fiber keeps me going until lunch! Personally, I try to have the most carbs for breakfast and less carbs with lunch and even less carbs…

  • My biggest struggle mentally is that I'm constantly making excuses for why my skinny clothes now fit/belittling my progress. I've lost 46lbs in the past year (slow, but steady) and still have about 60lbs to go. Example: When I went from wearing solely leggings to wearing my old skinny jeans again, my brain said "no, these…
  • Yes, I had my gallbladder removed in October 2015. So, 16 months between gallbladder removal and pancreatitis. I'm not sure if it was diet, genetics, or both but my maternal grandmother, my mother, and I all had our gallbladders removed at age 25. Yes, I have had not only my gallbladder removed, but also acute pancreatitis…
  • Oh my gosh, this was me in February of this year. After a successful 25lb weight loss I had a random bout of acute pancreatitis. I had my gallbladder removed in 2015, hardly drink alcohol, and just yesterday had an endoscopic ultrasound to see if there are any lesions/cysts on my pancreas because they had no idea why my…
  • Some of the things I've learned in my journey to stop binge eating: 1) If it's free office goodies, best to just leave it alone. I think about it for a moment - "am I actually hungry right now? Why do I need this?" I know that cookie probably won't satisfy my hunger, and if I really want a sweet treat I'm better off…
  • I did WW back in 2013 and successfully lost ~22lbs on the PointsPlus system. However, once I started eating the non-diet versions of foods (bread, cheese, yogurt, you get the idea) I gained it all back +15lbs of "love weight". After switching back to MFP April 2016 I've lost 46 lbs - and have not gained any of it back. I…
  • Kevita is a good entry point into the 'buch world. My favorite Kevita flavors are Ginger, Lavender Melon, and Peach Pineapple. I personally would not recommend GT's Trilogy to a newbie. It was my first taste of kombucha and it immediately turned me off to all kombucha because it tasted like straight vinegar.
  • I'm 5'6" and 208 lbs now (eating 1390 cal/day), but when I was 220 lbs I was around 1450-1500 cal/day (office job, light activity). So close to the 100's! Keep at it, add some moderate cardio if you can and you're well on your way.
  • Low carb go-to is typically throwing some frozen chicken breasts into the oven to add to salad. Chicken is topped with salt, pepper, and whatever herb I'm feeling before baking. If the chicken is going on a Mediterranean-inspired salad I'll top with oregano. For the Mediterranean salad 2 cups greens (usually romaine…
  • My two cents: -Don't take free food, bring your own. It's the safest bet for staying on track. If you think that's not manageable now, maybe try the idea of "if I bring my own food 4 shifts in a row, I can have a nice restaurant meal on my 5th shift." Moderation is key, after all. Not in the industry anymore, but even in…
  • Easily losing weight while on Mirena (Jan 2017), had more difficulties losing/more weight gain on the combo pill. I wonder if it has something to do with Mirena only having one type of hormone?
  • I second this! Super inexpensive and accurate. Mine even came with a nifty tape measure for body measurements!
  • Besides drinking a ton of plain water, I like sparkling/mineral waters (unsweetened) (La Croix, Topo Chico, San Pellegrino, doesn't matter), hot green tea unsweetened, iced tea (black, green, white) unsweetened, coffee (black, or with a bit of H&H and stevia), and small glasses of ginger kombucha (8oz) on occasion. Once…
  • If I have a sweet craving after dinner I'll typically go for either 1-2 dried figs (seriously - nature's candy. no joke), a square of dark chocolate, or a 1/2 cup of Halo Top ice cream. Their Oatmeal Cookie is my new favorite.
  • Out of college for nearly 4 years now, and I was actually in better shape while in school for the longest time! I've been working on my fitness and health for the past year and am thinner now than I was then, just takes wayyyy longer once you realize your metabolism has gone down and you're not walking across campus 24/7.…
