thermostat wars are real. I basically live in a hot house, visitors will actually strip down —not kidding. My DH has very poor circulation and starts to turn on the heat in October at the first inkling he feels chilly. And yes, he can and does control the thermostat remotely! KarenVA I can relate!!! Morning ladies, Michelle my DOS turns 65 in June, she was planning to retire on her b-day this coming June. This layoff accelerated her plan by 2 months, but actually gives her a windfall of around 8 months of extra pay by way of severance, so no worries there. It felt funny to her as she has been gathering up her courage…

KarenVA I can't say our elopement was romantic, we had the license already so we knew we were going to get married, we just looked at each other and said why not do it on our Birthday?! So we headed out after both working that morning, city hall is a short walk from our house and we got hitched! Still felt pretty nervous…

Allie I always get anxious about packing for a trip, but take Trudy's advice, pack less, wear things more than once (nobody will notice, trust me) and yes, you can always pick something up if you need to. I'm so excited for you taking this trip, wowza! Barbie my MIL…

Barbara love your phrase "Pay Attention!" Sometimes when I'm joking with my students i'll Say "Two words people: Focus!!!" this is usually followed by a couple of beats of thinking and then someone will say quietly, that's only one word.... love it!!! Amber When Pip gets her boot out, that means she's encouraging us to…

<3 Happy Friday! Day 4 of my streak!!!

My streak of no media consumption after work is now 3 days! (dancing emojis here) But, I'm suffering from a bout of insomnia, and I think it's because I use the media to fall asleep and now it is turned off. In addition to this new habit, I have also walked past the chocolates everyone seems to be dumping in staff rooms…

Karen VA can Lilliana be any more adorable? Enjoy every cuddle with her. Sharon I am inspired by your solo trip to Mexico and it is so smart to get the DDS work done when you are there, it is sooo crazy expensive in the US. Work errands after school yesterday but I didn't sink into the couch afterwards, so 2-day streak! I…

Katla, isn't the bone scan the easy peasy test where you just lay on the table, no fuss? Or am I mixing that one up with something else. Either way, take care of yourself. NYKAREN

Sleep schedule is off but I'm sure it will settle down once I get back to my regular work schedule, teaching makes me tired and therefore I sleep better! sweet sweet sweet vacation is here!! I am going to turn off social media for the next 2 weeks for a complete rest. Lanette Rachel's civic is sitting in our garage, she will get to drive it back to school in late January. I just got off the phone with her, her ride has decided to leave tomorrow instead of today due to the weather.
