Hello! Saw and accepted your request! I'm obviously Nicole. I'm sure you read my thread with who I am and what I'm doing! lol First, congrats on your sobriety and regaining control of your life. That's no easy feat. I'm still in my "reset" and this week is about transitioning back to IF and a strict guideline of macros and…

Hello! My surgery was 10/15/15. I have VSG. I lost 165lbs. I've had some regain, lots of excuses behind it, lol, but working diligently to get my *kitten* back together! I'm on MFP all day Mon-Th while at work and happy to answer questions. @minca1920 now I have to research your procedure! I think that's a revision of…

bariatricketo.com they have several groups and all the links to their facebook groups are on their business page. I'm on Day Six of the reset, and have lost 3.5 lbs this week. A lot of people have lost a ton more, but my diet has been pretty structured and clean for weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. I didn't eat awfully,…

Late to the party! So you lost all the weight initially, then had skin removal, then gained a lot back, now have to have a revision? Wow. I'm so sorry this process has been so difficult on you. You're less than a week out until your revision. I wish you the best of luck! Hang in there!

Weight loss surgery is a tool. One of many. I am now 44 years old. In early 2015, I am convinced I had a heart attack. I stayed in bed and hoped I would die in my sleep. I weighed 307lbs. I had done every diet on the market, my weight yo-yo'd from puberty. In 2012, no matter what I did, I couldn't lose weight. I exercised,…

Oh NO! I avoid going out on Black Friday, other than to the gym! Nope. Hide. Those crowds trigger my anxiety, which becomes road ragish, lol!

@Samquentin the IF is really helping me focus. The first few days were rough. After that, I've been fine. This week, I haven't thought about food. The first few days I was constantly wondering when I could eat in the morning. I've dropped another .2 lbs overnight. I know a lot of this is from drinking more water, and…

Hello! Congrats on the grandbaby! I have two Thanksgivings this year! The first is with the BF's family. I'm bringing my mashed cauliflower, so I know I can eat that and turkey, lol! The second is a Friendsgiving. I'm bringing my cauliflower and some keto cookies. That way, when they all eat the pie all night, I know I can…

HEY! Just getting back on the wagon myself. The honeymoon is DEFINITELY over! I let things go this past year, and am now refocusing and recommitting to me! That looks different to different people. For me, I absolutely need to log my food, I need to weigh daily, I need to find ways to stay accountable. Am I comfortable…

If you look up bariketo on Facebook, there is a modified keto plan for WLS patients. I'm starting their "reset" this coming Sunday... They follow a moderate fat, high protein, low carb.

Eh. I have one, but not really sure I want to publicly share. It's full frontal, naturally some bits are covered, but it's still baring all. Not much is different with the back view, still swollen.

Ok. http://www.drirvingrodriguez.com My local surgeon was super impressed with his work. My only caveat about any surgeon outside the country is to make sure you have quality aftercare set up here. Once I left the country there was no follow thru from them. I was lucky I had set up care in AZ before traveling, and my…

Sorry for the radio silence. I just posted this to my Facebook yesterday, cutting and pasting here... Long overdue update. On July 18, I had 12lbs of skin removed. On July, 28, I flew to AZ to spend some time healing in the loving care of my parents home. On July 29, there was an "incident" and my mother had to remove my…

Hi! First, my phone keyboard sucks...get out your decoder rings! Ok! I arrived on 7/17, surhery on 7/18. The hospital was clean, but service was meh. They removed 10lbs of skin and 2lbs of fat from lipo. I have approximately 120 staples. My tummy tuck goes from outside of hip to outside of hip, thru the mons. Center line…

Well. I ended things with Food and Fun. It was hard, and I didn't want to, but I had to. Too many feelings involved for something casual. He didn't want to commit, and it was making me miserable. I don't think it's the end of us, just the end of right now. Surgery in 2 1/2 weeks, so nothing much on the dating front as I'll…

I agree with @Ultima_Morpha and @TryingTeresa ! You shouldn't be eating solids this soon out! All surgeons have different plans, but I cannot imagine the act of digesting solids can be good for that staple line! I would be willing to bet that's the discomfort! I was on liquids for three weeks, purees for two, soft foods…

@fit_chickx I will definitely be taking a ton of before and after photos, and I promise to update this thread as I feel up to it! As I started losing weight it became apparent my arms were going to be frightful, so I started looking into prices. Luckily, through different bariatric support groups I've met three people that…

So sorry you're dealing with this. The one huge thing this surgery has opened my eyes to is that the people you would hope to be in your corner unconditionally are not. My perception of family has completely changed. There are very few "family" that I keep in touch with. My "family" is now the people I want around me, not…

@Shull_rachael Absolutely! If the on-call doctor is not a bariatric doctor he may be floundering! When is your surgeon back? If it's soon, I'd definitely try to wait it out. If not, there's got to be another one SOMEWHERE. It may not be convenient, but it may be worth the trip!
-
@vsteele6 Just under $9k for the four procedures, including the 10 day stay, all my meals included, pain meds, compression garments, and lymphatic massages. I did not find him on a website, I had three personal recommendations for him.
-
@Shull_rachael DO NOT just go into any ER. DO NOT just see any doctor. YOU NEED to see a BARIATRIC SURGEON. There have been NUMEROUS horror stories of people going into the ER and those docs screwing things up and making it worse for bari patients!

They told me three weeks off work. I'm taking 34 days.

OK! My flights are booked, pre-admission testing done! Waiting for the results to get sent to the surgeon (should be by Friday)! Less than a month away! I land in San Diego the morning of 7/17! Surgery 7/18! @jcavanna2 will be updated by my mother until I'm ready to take over. She said she'll post to let you guys know. I…

@jcavanna2 GAH! Sorry you're struggling! I think being super diligent for a while definitely helps reset the brain. I'm doing that myself right now. Been going out a bit too much. Vertigo sucks. I have a form of recurring vertigo that I have exercises I do most mornings before my feet even hit the floor. @garber6th Vertigo…

@cjcarter77 Do me a favor, stop putting things like, "This will not seem like much..." in your comments. Accept your victories as your own. Accept that we all were where you are and know how important every little victory is. There are still days, even after running a 5k, that I am still amazed by how many times I'm able…

It's the protein that foams up. Just scoop it out or make your shakes in advance and let the foam settle, then stir gently.
-
Vega is the best vegan protein powder I've found.
-
I have a small snack about 30 minutes before the gym and protein within an hour of finishing the gym. The pre and post drinks are a gimmick.

Look up barifit.com Worked wonders for me!
