  • How do you know the fat vs muscle you've lost?
  • So, yeah. The first guy in the update? Let's call Airlines, as that's where he works. I had friends from out of town over this weekend, told him we'd be at a bar. He was there for about an hour, was really standoffish, but then texted to check on me the next day. So, no clue there. Whatever. The other guy, we'll see. I'm…
  • Eh. Constructive criticism doesn't require further questions. Being able to assist does... That being said, at three months out, I was definitely eating fewer calories, carbs, sugars and fat. I was working out seven days a week. Now, everyone is different. If you've been at this level for a while, I would leave the…

  • UPDATE: Food and Fun. Still there. Still not interested in more. Seeing him tomorrow night. Hot Cop, Day Drinker, Pool Balls...haven't heard from. *crickets* Coffee Guy...disappeared, again, I'm sure he'll pop up. Single Dad became ANGRY Single Dad and had to be cut loose. I don't need that *kitten*. NEW ADDS...ok people.…
  • Not one second do I regret any part of the process. My regret is waiting as long as I did. I love my life. I love how I've changed. It's not easy, and it's not painless, but it is worth it a thousand times over. I would do it again in a heartbeat. So much of the process is mental, that's the biggest game to be prepared…
  • What is your calorie intake daily? Your carbs? Protein? Fat? Water? About how much are you working out daily? How far out? Feel free to vent, but include this type of info and maybe someone can help you!

  • Thanks for the info! I'll ask my OB/GYN, but do you guys know if the hormonal IUDs help with PMDD? I've been on the NuvaRing since it was released in 2001. Before that I tried the pill, shots, the patch, nothing helped. I don't typically get cramping, but I have other issues going on causing them, so I did break down and…

  • If it fits your macros. It's a website that will figure out how many grams of protein, fat and carbs you should be eating. I don't use them, but have used multiple sites to tweak my macros after having them set about a year ago by barifit.com
  • If it's not hindering your weight loss and you feel good, go for it. I've just upped my carbs to that level at 18 months out. My personal trainer has been pleading with me to raise them for a while. I've seen a huge energy boost, along with gains at the gym. We have to learn to listen to our bodies. There are days I keep…
  • @jcavanna2 You know what you have to do and how to do it. You really have to make sure you keep your food up right now, especially with all the added stress. But, I don't have to tell you that. Were you doing IIFYM? Because a little pre-planning would help you allow yourself the triscuits if that's your current go-to. I'd…
  • @pneschich you are still in the early stages. You need supplements to get your protein in. As you transition to solid foods you will see that you use fewer. For myself, I eat between 100-140 grams a day. I am lifting. I need higher amounts to sustain my activity levels. Word about Genepro...read the label. It is 10g of…
  • Collagen protein is not easily absorbed by the body. It's one of the proteins with a low adsorption rate.
  • I found that the first week of purees I had to have things a lot more liquidy, then slowly ease up and make it more paste like. Also, for me, cheese and vegetables were way easier on me for the first several days. Thanks for the clarification! You'd be shocked at what some people.
  • My doctor moved through stages very methodically and slowly. 1st week post op was clear liquids. 2nd-3rd week post op was all liquids. (any bit of solid, no matter how mushy, had to be strained. 4th-5th week post op was pureed foods. At this point anything I ate had to be completely pureed. Soups kept the bits, but had to…
  • 36:45 3/1 - 3/3 3/6: Forearm plank: 4:50, mixed planks: 9 3/7: Forearm plank: 5:15, mixed planks: 9:45 New Total: 65:35 I have to cut back a bit, I'm dying by the end of the day, lol!
  • Was the chicken pureed? Puree stage, think baby food consistency. My eggs I would scramble with a lot of salsa to make them liquidy. It would take me two sittings to eat it all. Look up World According to Egg Face, you can google "Shelly's Baked Ricotta" I ate that (still do) with extra marinara and pureed meatballs (you…
  • Dr. Stalker? OMG. Totally LOLd on that one!
  • You guys, I hate feeling like I'm boring people on here. I'm the most active user of this thread, lmao, but whatever. If you guys want stories and updates, I'm game. It's crazy and sometimes just the activity of posting is enough for me to get perspective. My friends refer to my dating life as "the spreadsheet". When I…

  • WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE? heh Background (complete dork, I know): I have a party on April 29. It's a get together of a group on Facebook. The hostess (a good friend) has decided that we are going to have a plank challenge. She is a complete smack talker, so I *must* beat her. It is a bent elbow plank, whoever…
  • I pureed chili, added some extra diced tomatoes with chiles in them to make it more liquid. I also bought protein powders so if I had to rely on smoothies I could do coffee with Fairlife Milk and protein powder (Quest brand is my favorite, still use it.) Or just milk with ice and protein powders. Absolutely, pureeing just…
  • Google "Shelly's baked ricotta" it tastes amazing. I had weight-loss surgery and had to do a liquid - puree - soft food diet. Shelly has a ton of recipes on her website for purees. (her name is eggface) I pureed meatballs and added them to the marinara sauce to up the protein. 15 months later, I'm still eating it, I add…
  • I think it was finally the fourth month that I started feeling completely human again. Stick with it, as your body continues to heal, your calories increase, your activity continues to increase, you'll start feeling better.
  • So, yeah. Probably the weirdest NSV on the list to date. I fit in a dryer. All of me. Don't ask. It excited me. Or...ask. lmao, I have the video and pics to prove it.
  • @AllisonMart YAY! It's rough in the beginning, but so worth it! I'll update. So, the new guy didn't work out. I got a message last week that he just wasn't interested. I was grateful for getting the message instead of him ghosting. Not gonna lie, I want to ask what it was, lmao, but won't. I had pre-emptively signed up on…
  • Wait? What? Why are you in here then?
  • Sugar and carbs are not all bad, and not all alcohol turns to sugar. Yes, everyone needs to limit their sugar and carb intake for health. There are so many diets, and such a variety of options that it's important to figure out what's best for your body. I will absolutely agree that too much of either makes me feel…
  • For real? From 2/7 to 2/18 I increased my plank from 2 minutes 22 seconds to 4 minutes 14 seconds. This is crazy.
  • Saturday night with Food and Fun went amazingly well! We had dinner at my place, went out for drinks, to play pool, and listen to his friend's band, then back to my house for dessert. He mentioned possibly going out to dinner some time. So weird. I've gotten used to "food and fun" that I'm not sure how to behave around him…
  • @Lisidy People think the day after is bad. Nope. The worst typically is two days after, especially for the larger muscles. Keep pushing water and try using heat for the really sore spots. Heat increases blood flow, which will help reduce the pain. Good luck!
