Hollow like I never ate anything ever... similar to that feeling you get in your stomach when you're really nervous or anxious... but more hollow... LOL

I wish magnesium worked. I've tried everything to no avail. I have sleeping pills for the nights I have to get up early the next day and otherwise I go to bed at a normal time and listen to the most boring podcast I can find to make me sleepy. LOL

So I'm coming at this from the personal experience of my mom causing me a world of harm by shaming me about my weight and putting me on a diet when I was a teen. I'm not a fan of the idea. I developed a binge eating disorder and started eating in secret because I felt like I had no control over my own food. Ironically my…

Not particularly. I don't think I was on the generic long enough to really get a good idea though.

@Vowder That's a beautiful trend! That's a good reminder about protein. I'm doing Protein Power, which is more of a reasonable amount of protein, lower carb, and higher fat. I find it easy to "meat" and exceed the protein requirements. Thanks for the best wishes on the homeschooling. We live in a rural area that…

I was taking metformin for PCOS related insulin resistance (have since been able to get off it successfully)... but when I was taking it... here where I live my pharmacist stopped carrying the name brand metformin because the gov't subsidized medical plan would only cover the generic. Even though I don't qualify for…

My Blog is here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/jetsamflotsam If you want to see other people's blogs go to that link and replace my user name at the end with the other person's name. I can't seem to find any other way to find and read a friend's blog. I've set my blog to post new entries to my feed so if you are my…

Okay... so less than 24 hours after my small serving of brown rice I had my first normal BM since starting to eat LC (last three days was one or two hard rabbit poos and some discomfort). Interesting... I'm very curious to see what my weight loss looks like on my Wednesday weigh-in... stay tuned! ;)

Oh, that's a bummer! :( Thanks for the heads up...

I didn't know there was a glitch! What's going on??? Thanks for letting me know... I was wondering why nobody was interacting with me. LOL

@Working2BLean You've really made great progress on the fitness! I'm going to be homeschooling my son in the fall and we've already made a plan to walk together everyday as part of his PE program. I just need to get through my PT so I'm ABLE to walk by then.

Great input here... I"ll report back on my own findings once I have some time under my belt... For now I"m going with using my carb budget for whatever I want, chocolate and brown rice included. I did find that my dinner was MUCH more satisfying and filling with the tiny bit of brown rice than it was the night before…

@KenSmith108 You'll be amused by this... Just noticed this morning that two of the items in my diary from the last few days were incorrect. I noticed the cheese and the xylitol both had zero carbs in my dairy, and when I checked the nutritional label on both they both had carbs... So much for staying under my carb goals!…
-
But at least you can just look at the nutritional label too to check it... I've added foods myself before if it didn't match.
-
Hmmm... i'm insulin resistant from PCOS... I wonder if that applies to me too?
-
Yeah, I guess that's the key... figuring out what works and what doesn't for me personally. I decided I'd rather have more trail mix today than a tiny amount of brown rice. Seems like it will be much more satisfying.
-
I tend to scan labels on food so it's as accurate as possible. That's cool that you know yourself that well. I hope to get to that point someday. This is something I plan to do for life so I'm trying to make it as fun and enjoyable as possible.

Thanks for all the friend adds I woke up to this morning!

Why does your diary have no nutritional info listed? I find that quite helpful when looking at other people's diaries... Mine's public too. I'm a newb, and trying to learn from the masters!

I had my 40th birthday this week and there was lots of leftover birthday cheesecake. I didn't eat any of it, instead i started my low carb diet and I've stuck to it both days. I also gave the leftover pizza to the hubs, who is skinny and has a high metabolism.

I just did your 2nd tip. Day 2 here and feeling headache-y and flu-y.

I'm aiming to keep it below 50 grams. I'm doing Phase 2 of Dr Eade's Protein Power Plan.
-
Day 2 off to a good start... hardboiled eggs and cheese on multi-grain buttered ryvita crackers. Ended up having a tuna and feta salad last night instead of the salmon, will be making that for dinner tonight with steamed broccoli. :) Feeling good today! Stomach bug seems to be clearing up, so that's good news.

First day went all right. I stayed under all my limits and got in about 7 cups of water. I've been fighting a stomach bug the last few days so slept most of the afternoon. Hoping i feel better tomorrow, I have a day to rest at home, so that will be nice.

In a nutshell, eat plenty of healthy fat.

I'm uber organized and a bit anal about meal plans and grocery lists. I have everything in an app with repeating grocery list items I can check off as I shop... Hehe I forgot about Greek Yogourt... Need to pick some up tomorrow! Also hard boiled eggs will be a real easy quick snack. I bought some oven roasted chicken deli…

Dr Eades has written a number of books, too much to summarize in a post. Worth reading for sure if you have time. I have the latest ebook, but ordered a hardcover book as it's easier to flip around to the different sections. Also, I wish I loved meat. I've been vegetarian a number of times over the years because it's hard…
