Great work and perseverance! What wonderful reward. Ditto Sunflower, you look really happy! Don't get comfortable, keep going even if it's just maintenance a week now and again.

This.

You can have nut oils instead of the actual nuts if you want the minute nutrients they have. Otherwise, ditch them. I don't like eggplant but one day I'm gonna eat it, just cause. I use to hate avocado as a young person, now, I absolutely adore them.

...and if you are consuming a lot of sodium, you will retain water....

I usually cook the holiday dinners, so when I cook I don't want to eat much of it... But if I go to someone else's event, I'm looking for the wine, the appetizers and the dessert. So guess I'll be cooking this year too..

I have a 100+ to lose (correction, now I have 90.6 lbs to lose). It happened within this month, my 2nd return to MFP. I am addressing health concerns (high blood pressure and prediabetes). I know this will be the long haul for me because I don't want to take medication. Know your why, and repeat it often. I know it seems…

I'm at 28 days, and I had a taste of some goodies, not much though, and I got right back to deficit eating. I think this is a good way to learn how to stay on maintenance. When I lost 40 lbs 10 years ago on WW, the day after weighing in and reaching goal...I ate some really good Popeye's chicken, something I had been…

First of all, pictures are not always flattering. Why do you think actors are always watching their weight? The camera gives the appearance of an additional 20 lbs. Second, be proud of the steps you have taken. Every day is a day full of choices. You have made more good choices than not. Keep plugging at it, and one year…

I would say this is true. I dieted on 3 times in my life. This is #3. WW lost 40 lbs. MFP#1, forget what I lost, I started last year and quit. This time I'm in it no matter what is going on in my life. Cause life is gonna always be up and down. If I feel good and look good it will help handle the crazy stuff (use to be…

Hi, welcome...again...I just restarted, my 2nd time, about 20+ days ago. I'm gonna stay here, even on my bad days, cause hey that's life...good days, bad days but each day you wake up is a day to be grateful for it. I find walking does wonders for my outlook on life. For those of you outside of California and soon in the…

A wise man on these boards states that if one does not complete their profile, the chances of success or longevity here is limited. I'm beginning to see the light. If you cannot articulate why you want a change, what chance is it that you will do anything towards that goal, including asking people for help and…

I did WW about 10 years ago, at age 45 lost 40lbs. Went to every meeting, not always online. My maintenance path became a path of eating whatever, and I gained the 40 lbs plus 50+ ....so looking to lose 100 lbs. I liked WW. I had never dieted before except to gain weight cause I was always this little skinny pole of a kid…

Fantastic accomplishment. Can you share how long it took to get this place?

Anybody willing to give you their opinions on things, had better be ready to pay for it. Hate when people comment on you (or whatever about you) like they are paying for it. Keep doing you, and if this neighbor says something again...tell them you are accepting donations towards the surgery, or clothes, or whatever. I…

You have a lot on your plate...all stress inducing by themselves, and piled together whew....it triggers you to find a way to comfort yourself. I've been there, single mom of a now freshman in college. Between her sports, girl scouts, school events and my own stress inducing job, it was none ending stress, cause I never…

This is very doable. Start off by eating within your allowable calories....might be difficult at first esp. the first 3 or 4 days. Eat lean protein, lots of veggies, and carbs. As for exercise, start walking, and when you have managed your caloric intake, you can choose to eat back the calories used in exercise or not. I…

Great inspiration and perseverance!

I like this! OP....it is a challenge....we all realize that things have got to change...at different episodes in our lives. You came here now. I have one child who just turned 18. In college, and working too. I started feeling pretty bad physically...finally checked my blood pressure a month ago....holy moly was it high! I…

My 2nd time here at MFP, 3rd time to lose weight. This time, though, health scare. I'm doing low sodium and low sugar. It's kinda fun to see how I do this. I focus on this rather than calories...seems to work. You have to really want it. Why do you want to lose weight? I can tell you it does get harder as you get older,…

I've been on a low sugar, low sodium diet for my time here on MFP. Have lost a considerable amount when I weighed in this past Friday. 3.4 lbs for a total of 9.4 in just under a month. It was kinda scary cause I had never lost that much in a week before. I'm focusing on these micros here on MFP, less so for calories. I had…

MFP is not a program for losing weight quickly. It's a program to help you lose weight at the doctor recommended 1 - 2 lbs a week program, in a healthy way. Why are you waiting to the last 2 months to do anything about it?

What worked for me was checking my blood pressure one day 30 days ago cause I was having hard time breathing going up the stairs one day. Scary high. I focused on getting that number down through better eating, less sodium, less sugar, walking at 30 minutes a day. Things you can measure here on MFP. I made a game of…

Daily, am and pm. I record on a sheet of paper. It helps tie in what I ate/exercised the day before with the changes in my body. If it starts to trend up, then I evaluate what is it that's causing it. Kind of fun. Every 10 lbs, I will take a picture. It's fun for me.

My nutrient goals are low sodium and low sugar. I try to not go over half my MFP allotment. My diet consists mostly of lean protein, lots of veggies, an apple here and and there, a glass of wine. I eat diabetic bread cause it has no sugar. I have lost almost 10 lbs since my first month here on MFP. My tastebuds have…

Well, you did a great thing by coming here. That's a huge step! Walks are great! Feels good, and your spirit gets a lift too. Helps you think of what you can accomplish. Running in place for 15 minutes, 2x a day, lunges, squats, sit ups, push ups, can all be done at home. Can you go back to school, a community college? You…

I agree! I am not vegan, but I've upped my veggies, no fruits. I eat low sugar and low sodium. I've lost 9.4 lbs these 3 weeks. I'm a sugar addict, basically all of us are if we eat alot of refined sugar. My taste buds have adjusted and when I bit into a granny smith apple it was actually sweet along with tart. But I have…

You are doing a fantastic job! Even your face is changing. Keep it going. Face the fact that it may take 2 years but that's okay. Same time is going to go by anyway so why not make the time mean something. And you are. You really don't want a health scare to make you do it anyway. Keep us posted.

I consider it to mean food that it has no added ingredients that I can't pronounce nor spell. Canned tomatoes for some might not be "clean" but for me okay, cause all that's in it are the tomatoes, water, salt maybe sugar. Does not have to be organic. Just no added ingredients that a chemist made up.

Yes, I'm concerned about this as you are....I have 100...correction 94 lbs to lose....so I'm hoping like you are that I will not have skin issues...and no it will not stop me...but I'm thinking I need to plan for the worse. What do you think?
