  • My father-in-law's girlfriend was my worst belly-toucher during my first pregnancy! Always uninvited, never asked. I got good at crossing my arms as she was approaching and adopting that ever-helpful resting *kitten* face, too.
  • @karen_thinmint and @wantoldme I wish folks didn't feel like pregnancy gives them a free pass to comment on our bodies. We are still human women who don't need to know and don't really care what you think about the shape and size of any part of our bodies! I'm not showing yet and haven't told anyone yet, but I'm dreading…
  • I had placenta previa with my first pregnancy. It was considered partial, and I was on pelvic rest from 20 weeks until about 32 weeks when it had moved enough to satisfy the doctor. I went on to deliver a healthy boy vaginally with no issues. Had it not moved we would have scheduled a c-section instead. Good luck to you!
  • I hit my protein goal today for the first time ever!
  • WAY TO GO! I feel ya. Congratulations on staying the course. This speaks to how well you have established your healthy habits since they are weathering the storm that is depression. Keep it up! I know it isn't easy.
  • I loved the Fitbit One which I clipped to my bra. Now I have the Alta and I really like it too. I miss the One whenever I push my toddler in a stroller because the Alta doesn't register steps very well while I push the stroller using both hands. I really like tracking my sleep and activity in a variety of ways. And we got…
  • I have been doing Pilates for the last 5 months, so I'm sticking with that for as long as I can. I do a TRX strength class and an occasional cycling class. Otherwise mostly walking. I'm not a good swimmer, but I want to get in the habit of swimming for the weightlessness of it. I was about to start C25K after our summer…
  • @wantoldme I get it. We're planning to wait to tell people basically until we can't hide it anymore. I have my first appointment on 6/13, and I will be thinking of you the next couple days as you get your news. Good luck!
  • If you think it might help with the nerves between appointments, you can buy home dopplers to check baby's heartbeat at home. I have heard good things about one called a Sonoline B. No personal experience yet, but I'm pretty sure they should work at 20 weeks, especially if you are on the slimmer side.
  • I survived a TRX class on Monday and I'm still kinda sore today. And I have officially switched to a small wristband for my Fitbit. This one was as much mental as physical. I have never been "small" so didn't really think that could be my size! It is now.
  • Mine is kinda the opposite of a craving, but food related. Starting a couple days before I found out I was pregnant, anything dairy started to make me bloat and have gas. Very painful bloating. And I wasn't eating blocks of cheese--a couple homemade biscuits (made with butter and milk) would make me feel off. I don't…

  • Welcome Lizz! This is a nice place to chat with like-minded ladies, especially when our partners are maybe a little less obsessed. I think starting to workout and eat healthy helped us conceive much faster this time. It took us over a year the first time, several months the second time, and only one month this time! (I'm…
  • @Kirstie155 Thank you! I'm excited and nervous. I think it'll be worse when I start showing and have to tell people... I'm only about 5 weeks. So I would be due Jan/Feb next year. Grateful that no one I know in real life is on here! :)

  • @annaskiski I am so sorry for your previous losses. My last pregnancy resulted in stillbirth. I'm very early in my 3rd pregnancy now. By my last period, my due date would be early February, but I will be delivered 2 weeks early because of my history (if I make it that far). Congratulations, ladies!
  • I agree! Here's another resource for finding a properly fitting bra! I have been to Victoria's Secret to get measured, but it turns out I need a size that they don't sell! At least not in stores. They were 3 cup sizes and one band size off! This calculator uses 5 measurements instead of 2. I have much better support now!…
  • June goals 1. Maintain weight (+/-2lbs) starting at 184 2. Stay active on vacation (hit step goal 8/20 days) 3. Find 3 new recipes that should be morning-sickness resistant! (And I welcome suggestions!)
  • I agree with the comfort outdoors comments, but hadn't realized it until reading it here. I actually got my garden planted and have pulled some weeds. The heat and the work don't bother me as much, and I actually WANT to be more active, so it's a nice thing to do on a rest day. Didn't expect that!
  • @VeryKatie Thank you for this awesome information! As I'm sure many can relate, going from losing weight to maintaining/gaining is weird. In past pregnancies I just let myself eat whatever and however much I wanted, which resulted in 30 and 40 pound gains. I'd like to do better this time! @WifiresGettingFit and…

  • I'm pregnant! It's still sinking in. It happened the first month we tried, which has never happened for us before. It took over a year with our first. So, I want to keep logging my food to keep my weight gain in check and keep me healthy. How do you guys set up your MFP account and your calorie goal? My diary is open if…

  • When I was single I would help myself come up with cash for the holidays by eating out of my freezer and pantry as much as humanly possible. I would make it my goal to empty them and only buy the must-haves from the grocery store. As an added bonus, it forced me to use up some of the weird ingredients I bought for a recipe…
  • @Kirstie155 Good luck! Sorry the hubby is so reluctant. I'm glad you're feeling pain free!
  • @VeryKatie Thank you for sharing! I don't feel so crazy now. And I like your approach. I think I'll give myself permission to eat at maintenance during the 2ww (which will also maybe make it suck a little less!). Lord knows I don't need more stress during this time!
  • For some reason the nerves and what ifs of the 2ww have me craving carbs and sweets and struggling to keep up my weight loss habits. In some ways, this is just another roller coaster aspect of the wait. If I am pregnant, then I'll need to change my eating habits. If not, I'll be bummed and *have* to keep trying to lose…
  • @jennamae102 I'm so sorry for your MIL stress! I have a similar MIL and had a talk with my husband before delivery to agree that we would not call her when we went to the hospital. No grandparents got a phone call until after baby arrived and we were in recovery. My logic for DH (in case he wasn't receptive to "because…

  • I experienced something today of which I had only heard rumors. My leggings started to fall down while I was running on the treadmill! I have never had this problem before! And it's a real problem because my belly still jiggles quite a bit and I need the high waistband to keep it under control!
  • @samlovesthesnow I hope this idea helps you, too! My husband travels for work sometimes, so I can relate to the bummer of missing a cycle. We'll be traveling together for the next two ovulation times. Trying to decide if I want to do ovulation predictor kits while traveling. Let me know how you like them. I'm tracking my…
  • @Kirstie155 Thanks! I wasn't trying last month, but there was a tiny chance I could have gotten pregnant and the TWW was still awful! Now I'm kinda looking forward to doing all the stuff on my slips of paper! I hope it makes your TWW easier, too. This time around I could find out right before/around my husband's birthday…
  • I have lost 4.25 inches total from my arms, chest, waist, and hips since February. (And gained 1 inch in calves and thighs). It doesn't sound like much, but I'm trying to keep in mind that it's 4.25 inches I would still have if I had just sat on my butt and ate junk for the last 3 months!
  • I am anticipating being a mess during my 2ww each month, and I'm mentally preparing myself for there to be several months of 2ww. So I came up with a list of 16 fun/distracting/self care things to do, 1 for each day plus a couple. I have written each one on a slip of paper and put them in a bowl so that each day I get to…
  • I have never heard anyone refer to her TOM as Shark Week and I love it! Makes so much sense. I am noticing cravings more now, too. I hadn't thought about it until I read your comment. I think it's because I used to eat whatever I wanted, so giving into a craving didn't feel any different from normal. Now I try to make…
