  • I remember the first time I ran 20 miles, I got back and someone was saying "Maybe you should go buy a shirt?" I didnt think much of it. Then I took it off when I got home, and it looked like I had been shot in the boob. Oh running...you're stupid, I hate you.
  • The importance of dew point. And yes, chafing. God, the chafing
  • Yep, probably a treadmill problem more than anything. Honestly, I can run a 10 miler and it will go by in a flash, yet a 2 mile treadmill run will feel like obscene torture. Also, it might be burnout. I know I get really into running, and after about 5 months (and usually close to race time), I start to suffer burnout. So…
  • I was suffering from a bad calf strain for a few months. I've been getting back into it. I've been focusing more on logging miles, even slowly, than I have at trying to get back to where I was. I'm back up to 10 mile runs, but they are about 45-50 seconds a mile slower than what I was at :-(
  • It's definitely a good idea. It really can help the miles fly by! Strongly encourage it
  • Ive got the BOB Ironman, we like it quite a bit.
  • There just arent as many this time of year. I think come April-Jun, you should have a ton of options usually
  • The Sprints arent too bad really. Just keep doing exactly what you're doing. The only thing that might help is do some trail running.
  • The best thing I ever did was start working out early. I was never consistent with exercise, I'd always make every excuse known to man. When I started working out before work, that went away. It is tough the first few weeks, but when you get used to it, it's easy to maintain
  • Awesome! I've done four of them over the past 2 years, always super fun. Stadiums are fun but you should try and get a normal non stadium one too. Different experience.
  • My experience (and this is pretty universally shared) is the HR works really well for running (and probably walking), but it's terribly inaccurate for most everything else exercise wise. But I do like it
  • Sounds like side stitches? If so, they get a lot better. I used to get that, havent had it in a long long time (unless I'm really overdoing it)
