  • Things tend to become habit very easily for me. This is good and bad. For me, eating after dinner, before bed has been something I've had to find a work around for. I CANNOT go to bed with an empty stomach. I will not sleep or I'll wake up at 3:00am starving and won't be able to go back to sleep unless I eat a banana or…
  • I know you said you've had all of your hormones checked but I just thought I'd share that after several major surgeries I gained 40lbs. I couldn't figure out why because prior to the surgeries I had actually lost 20# just sitting on my caboose trying to heal. My doctor rechecked my thyroid after the weight gain and…
  • I did the same thing to save on calories. I really like the uncured stuff from Costco. That said, the rest of my family still eats their pork bacon. They call my turkey bacon "fake."
  • I'm pretty picky about where we get our pork from, but in our house, pork is king. At one time, it was one of the few things my boy could eat that didn't cause a reaction. Now? We still love our bacon and sausage - daily. And bacon grease is a must when cooking. :)
  • Massage was my first thought as well. If you do chiro, I would give serious consideration to that (although I cannot ever recommend bone cracking chiro - we do non-bone cracking). I only had this mildly and for me, I was more comfortable sitting in a squatting position (yeah, even when I was just sitting watching TV). I…
  • I do many of the same things others have said. Lots of soup, stews, chili, stir fry, etc. that I can put veggies in and eat them cooked. I try to cook mostly in season so during the winter we naturally eat less fresh stuff in our home. I freeze lots of garden veggies during the summer for use during the winter. Warm, low…
  • This is funny in some ways for me. Since the day I married I've always had a male doctor. I prefer them by far for delivering my babies, my routine care, etc. UNTIL this year. With working on losing weight but especially being right in the middle of perimenopause I found myself not wanting to talk to my male doctor about…
  • Thank you for sharing this because I imagine that others will go through it too. While our doctors may not acknowledge it at least we'll know that these symptoms aren't necessarily abnormal (well, my current doctor wouldn't be understanding or acknowledging anyway :s).
  • I'll give you one more iron option. :) Floradix iron with herbs is excellent for increasing iron. It is the most absorbable iron and the herbs are intended to help your body up its iron and hold it steady. It won't cause constipation like most iron. The liquid tastes nasty but they sell pills on Amazon.
  • Have you tried taking magnesium daily? Very often, insomnia is a lack of magnesium. You might try it for 2-3 weeks and see if it helps. I would stick with mag citrate as it's less likely to cause bowel looseness in higher doses. If it works, great. If not, you're not really out anything.
  • For those with either fibroids or cysts (it works for both), drinking 1 tbls of blackstrap molasses mixed with 1 tbls of ACV a day (you can heat it to make a "tea" out of it) will both shrink the fibroids and cysts and remove the pain. The trick is you have to do it daily. A plus is the BSM will also help with low…
  • I told my husband not too long ago that I would rather go through puberty again then to be in perimenopause. At least at the end of puberty you felt "grown up" finally. With perimenopause you just get a bunch of awful symptoms and the reality when you're through it that you're now "older."
  • I like that site. I have been struggling with what I really look like quite a bit the last few weeks. I have a full length mirror that I think makes me look much bigger and a half mirror (dresser mirror) that I think makes me look smaller. I put into the website what I think I look like in the half mirror and it said I'm…
  • This is interesting. First, yes, they are very critical on other parts of the forum about using this. Sorry you experienced that. I'm generally a close to 99% natural person but I am taking phentermine because I had very specific reasons for doing so. I don't like it, but it is helping me. I also work very hard on changing…
  • Have been down this road. I would double check with your doctor about the "why." A low fat diet is usually recommended for after having the gallbladder removed- not because of pancreatitis. It sounds like they believe your pancreatitis was caused by a stone blocking the common bile duct. When they remove a gallbladder it…
  • This hospital has its own blood bank (owned and operated by the hospital) and we had nothing to go off of but what the attorney told us.
  • Because when we consulted an attorney to do so we were told that he could guarantee, even with multiple blood tests from different doctors, that the hospital and blood bank would have already altered both the records of the product he received and our son's personal records. He said it was wrong, but he'd been a trial…
  • Wow. Apparently I missed an entire conversation while I was typing..........welcome to my world @Plutodreams. I'm right with you in many arenas. ;)
  • First off, don't put words in my mouth. Child abuse is child abuse and should be reported. I did not say anything about accepting child abuse as "parenting" b/c it's clearly NOT. Parenting is a whole lot more then popping babies out (don't I wish people knew this). But I do not consider medical choices child abuse. There…
  • If Vit. C doesn't work for you (and oh yes it's awful! My boy use to have to take it in applesauce :D ) then try magnesium oxide. Usually a couple of capsules a day will work for most people. Might take a few days to take affect so give it at least a good 7 day try. If two doesn't work after a couple of days you can up to…
  • Yes. Unfortunately, today a number of states have laws specific to parents and consequences for the medical decisions they make for their children. Like it or not, we have to live within those laws (at least until if/when they are changed) which means there will be legal consequences for some people if what they choose…
  • Lower body and stomach weights day. Hit a new weight high with quads, hamstrings, thighs, and stomach! I took last week off to heal and thought I'd lose some ground but I didn't. Very happy about that! Did slow walk on treadmill for half hour. Still nursing bad PF but figured slow and some cardio was better then nothing.
  • Again, the ignorance of not knowing the difference between naturopathic and homeopathic is showing. I read through those cases and not a single one (there are more stories further down the page) used homeopathy. They all used either herbs or foods. That is NOT homeopathy. I started out in herbs and discovered that none of…
  • This is completely untrue. I'm sure you can provide some evidence, oh wait never mind, forgot who I was responding to. [/quote] http://cen.acs.org/articles/92/i29/Does-Acetaminophen-Work-Researchers-Still.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/07/23/one-big-myth-about-medicine-we-know-how-drugs-work/…
  • For one second, their job is not about making sure consumers aren't "deceived." Their job is to protect standard medical practice (and the AMA which buys and owns the FDA, FTC, etc.) from being encroached on with other things that work for diseases. When the government feels the need to protect people from their own…
  • I believe my post said it sounded inaccurate but I would verify. I doubt most stuff coming out of mags like SA. As someone that practices in this realm, I had not heard this yet and was surprised by it. But I've also been very busy and not reading a lot of what comes my way right now in terms of articles. This has not…
  • Depends on what type of therapist you choose. If you specifically choose a CBT Psychologist then it's more likely they would do it with you. Otherwise, most will not. They'll just talk with you about your emotional state.
  • I did the CBT book along with the talking/journaling with my healthcare provider. I found the CBT complimented what I was trying to learn from this website. I used the talking, etc. with my provider to just deal with the emotional garbage. I found that hitting this from multiple disciplines was what I needed to keep me…
  • This does not sound accurate. The label changes made recently pertain only to how remedy vials are sealed. I am forwarding the article to someone I know that operates in that arena for their verification. There are a number of things that are very inaccurate coming out of Australia of late that many are taking to apply to…
  • First, let's at least learn the difference between a naturopath and homeopath. They are NOT in any way, shape or form the same thing. A naturopath will use diet, supplements, herbs, and various other products to treat a person. Some NDs are licensed to use blood work, X-rays, and other medical testing to diagnose a…
