• @angie55575 I take the entire thing in the morning around 9:00am. I was taking 1.5 pills and bumped up to 2 pills. I take both of those at the same time. If I were to split that much to AM and PM, I think I'd be up all night! BTW, now that I'm on 75mg I actually have the appetite suppression that everyone has talked about.…
• I did for years successfully. I generally follow Bill Phillips' body for life lifting method. It was just dumbells going higher in weight successively. I still use his lifting method 18 years later but in a gym instead of at home. It still seems to work for me.
• It's interesting that this thread popped up being that it's 2yrs old. Interesting because I'm actually starting to struggle with this issue of obsessing. I have a background similar to the OP's and have been away from an ED for 20+ years. But in some respects, the brain thoughts never really go away, they just fade. Now…
• Just parking further away from the places I'm going so I had to walk more took me from a sedentary 2000-3000 steps a day to a consistent 10-12,000 steps a day. I also take the stairs where they're available, etc. I would think doing simple things like that and really watching your portion sizes will be key. Always leave…
• I'm not going to get involved in the artificial sweetener debate. I have very strong opinions and experience with them. I do want to throw out that blue sky makes a zero calorie soda made with stevia. I'm not a fan of stevia's flavor at all but I do okay with the blue sky. Zevia is another brand although I don't like it…
• I've said this before but it's worth repeating - just as there are good and bad medical doctors, there are good and bad natural practitioners. It really does come down to a person doing their due diligence of vetting someone. When I interviewed our current natural doctor she went through 45 minutes of answering questions…
• So 100% this.^^^^ My BIL has been a doctor for 30 years. He's also a very healthy eating advocate for lifestyle changes. He told us that when he offers diet/exercise/vitamin suggestions to his patients in order to help them avoid a drug, that of the patients he offers those changes to, about 20% will do it. The other 80%…
• Take ACV capsules instead. Then there's no teeth issues.
• I take ACV capsules for two reasons. 1) It helps with digestion and I have a hard time digesting fats (I'm eating LCHF). 2) For me, it does seem to help sweets cravings. I don't see it directly impacting weight loss. If it helps with weight loss it's because I'm eating less sweets then I would be otherwise, but it doesn't…
• So much this! Healing comes in layers. It took doing a lot of emotional work to get past the self sabotage and begin to succeed. Until then, start each day fresh and just keep going. If you work at the emotional, it will all catch up together eventually. In the meantime, you are practicing good habits at least a portion of…
• In the beginning I just ate what I wanted but stayed within my calories. I found after a few weeks of doing that, that I naturally started thinking about how bad I want "xyz" because I was eating calorie dense things which meant I was going to be able to eat less food on the whole throughout the day. Once that kicked in…
• Did you miss the part in her original post where she asked for advice? Can people around here please give adults the benefit of the doubt that they aren't stupid, they will take what people say and either run it past their doctor or the source they trust the most for their medical care, etc.? Really? Give people some…
• Not if it's what doctor and patient have determined is best. That's why I said her and her doctor need to be on the same page. And weight loss did not seem to affect me birthing a very healthy 9lb 12oz boy. A very good friend just birthed a 10lb 7oz girl after losing 25#'s while pregnant (and she wasn't obese by any means…
• Pretty much this. When you're sick, you're sick. Everything else gets put aside except keeping yourself hydrated and resting. Get well soon!
• I tend to notice other people's loss when they hit the 40# mark. That seems to be holding true for me as well. Most people didn't notice when I hit 15 but I did. I suspect when I near 40 it will get more noticeable.
• I get 10-12,000 steps in a day. Part of that is from exercise. I don't count any steps just from day to day walking. I only use what is actual exercise in my plan.
• I did not read through all of these responses. My doctor had no issue with me losing weight while pregnant. He told me that no matter what, the baby would take what it needed from me first before my body took what it needed. He had no issue with me losing 25-30lbs. When someone is way overweight pregnancy can be an easier…
• @angie55575 I bought a really good pill splitter (definitely not a cheepie) and just cut them in half at the score mark. I do think 1 1/2 is working well though.
• Digestive Enzymes. If you pay attention and notice that fats cause heartburn more the carbs or proteins then make sure it has ox bile in it. A lot of people do not digest their food well. This can cause heartburn. Food allergies can also cause heartburn. It can take up to two enzyme capsules per meal to keep heartburn from…
• This is the issue I have as well. I started lifting weights and I desperately need to up my protein intake. I'm currently averaging 80gms of 1550 calories. I need around 120gms (on the low side). I cannot have any dairy or soy which eliminates most protein bars and powders. I do have pea protein but when I make it into a…
• I did increase the dose. I'm taking 1.5 tablets in the morning only. I already only get about 4hrs of sleep on average so there is no way I will take this later in the day. It does seem to have suppressed my appetite now so that is good. I think this doctor is a little aggressive with her dosing so I'm going to be careful.…
• I can actually say I've been where you are currently sitting mentally (okay, and I use to work for State Farm too ;) ). There was literally no time. Somewhere along the way I hit the "I'm sick of being fat stage." And I sat there and got mad, frustrated, etc. for a number of years. This year, I finally decided that my…
• So this^^^^^^^^^!! I have genetic high cholesterol. Your doctor thinks 240 is high? Even if it has gone up the past few months that is not that high. I smell a doctor that wants someone on meds. >:) In my 20's and 30's mine was well near 400. My dad died of heart disease from high cholesterol at 42. Every person on his…
• I take Prometrium, a bio-identical progesterone, for matters unrelated to PMDD. But if you tend to have side effects to hormones, Prometrium might work well for you.
Does the Prometrium require a prescription?
Yes.
Thanks! I will ask my gyno about it! Any other option to consider is nice.
I…

• So her stool test that shows she actually tested positive for candida in her intestines/gut (done by an MD) was a lie? Yeah. Okay.
• I was typing in a hurry and said it backwards. I've been running late all stinking day and was typing faster then my thoughts were forming. My apologies.
• We do not use any chemical birth control and never have. We've been married 21 years. Have you considered natural family planning? It is very effective once you learn how to use it. For a few months a person might want to use condoms until they learned it really well. Effectiveness wise though, when done properly, it is as…
• That's okay. Give it enough time and medicine will catch up with the rest of what people call "woo" around here. They usually do.
• Yay! Someone else that recognizes the value of herbs, etc. Yep. Natural stuff takes longer to work, but thankfully, is less toxic in the long run when used correctly. Herbal wise, were you using goldenseal, Oil of oregano, and garlic? I know you have to cycle goldenseal. You are so right on the candida diet. 7 days…
