Hi OP. I'll share what's worked for me and one of my girls. Maybe something will be a help to you. I actually disagree with using BC. My experience has been that that can actually make things worse in a lot of ways. I don't understand why, but in some women, it seems to do that. A lot of times, painful cycles are caused by…

I my experience is any help, I found progesterone helped weight loss and estrogen increased weight. If you have the option of doing bio-progesterone at a dose to bring you in normal range and bio-estrogen to put you barely at the edge of low normal that might be an option? Also, if you try HRT again, I would only add one…

I'm in the US.

With regard to the b12 injections- I'm sure how much you're getting matters but I know when my teenage daughter was getting them she had to get them weekly. So once every ten weeks sounds like not enough (again, dosage matters). I would also ask about frequency of these shots because low b12 will also make you feel like…

One more hormone thought. Get a full thyroid panel done. Don't just let a doctor do a TSH. You need at least your free t3 and free t4 done as well. Your frees should be in the upper 2/3 of the range and your tsh should be between .5 and 1.5. If those numbers are off you will have a harder time losing weight. Perimenopause…

Look for a functional medicine doctor. If you specifically look up FMD they'll come up. I've seen a couple of different endocrinologists and they are 100% completely clueless. :s

I was VERY deficient in D (it was 19 when we discovered it) and I've been taking 10,000iu's a day for 5yrs. I'm just barely over 50 now (my doctor wants to see 70). 800iu's isn't even going to scratch the surface. Maybe double check this with your doc?

Hi OP. I do not have medically induced menopause but I have had hormone issues for YEARS. I have PCOS and am now closing in on the end of perimenopause (hopefully!). I am also on armour thyroid for hypothyroidism. I've had to mess with hormones and weight for a long time and I finally found what worked for me. For sure, I…

I would consider my mom bordering on evil aside from food/weight. If she does see me as I'm losing she tells me I'm getting too thin (um, not at 100 pounds overweight). I'm like another poster stated above. I choose not to be around the toxicity. I have little to no contact with my mom and a lot would have to change for me…

Oh man! My water fluctuations have gone crazy. 6#'s this past time. Normal for me was 2-3#'s. And the longer between my cycles the more water I gain. The only up side is when I do finally start, that massive water drop is good for the ego. :D
-
Predictability doesn't bother me as much as the hormonal swings do. The whole water retaining until I actually start a cycle is crazy. I lost 6 pounds of fluid when I went 50 days between cycles (my first official missed cycle). I just kept gaining fluid until I finally started. That was insane! I hope losing weight while…

Definitely check your exercise! I do 45 minutes of treadmill and 30 minutes of progressive lifting 4 days a week and I only log 153 calories burned for those two things. That is and hour and 15 minutes of exercise a day. So I would definitely double check your numbers with your output.
-
Your logging is not tight enough. You have to weigh e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. When I tried to fudge and only weighed part of what I ate, I didn't lose either. I would do a good solid month or two of weighing literally everything you put in your mouth. If at that point you haven't started losing (eating based on MFP calorie…

This is going to sound odd but aside from a possible prolapse and a few other things your doctor can check you for - food allergies will cause this. Dairy is considered a biggie for bladder incontinence and gluten is considered the second most common cause. While you're waiting to get into the doctor you might try pulling…

Oh man. I hear you! I just had my first missed cycle. I finally started at day 50. My first thought was, "seriously?! Just be done already!" This dragging things out is for the birds!

I do lower body/upper body splits. I do each twice a week and core (stomach/back) daily when I'm at the gym. I take Wednesdays off. I don't do full body (unless I know I won't make it to the gym for a certain workout) because of time. I like to do cardio for 30-45 minutes after I lift and that would literally put me at the…

This is the exact reason you personally *shouldn't* take this drug. If you went into it with the attitude that you have, you'd probably end up regaining any loss that you achieved and ultimately gain nothing from taking the drug. I think going into something like this with the right attitude (it's a short term tool with…

I'm in the same boat you are. I have a hard time getting enough protein and have to be dairy free. Someone on here a little bit ago suggested ancient naturals chocolate bone broth. I have to admit the thought sounded awful but I was intrigued because I put a small amount of powdered chocolate in my coffee. Coffee and…

I found your guy's views on the gym interesting because I'm just the exact opposite. I tried to work out at home for years. In fact, I've used a treadmill since my early 20's and loved it. But with kids (even three fairly self sufficient teens), trying to work out at home never works. There is always someone, or something,…

This. ^^^^^^ My husband has a shop full of these types of containers with more nuts, bolts, etc. then you can shake a stick at!

Fiber very often hurts the issue more then helps it. It finally took realizing that digestive enzymes (that contain ox bile in addition to all of the other enzymes) are absolutely key to dealing with this issue successfully (eventually you do not need them anymore) and magnesium as well can help. But the enzymes are an…

I found THM to be very prohibitive and time consuming. I also didn't like that it counts heavily on artificial sweeteners. I have lots and lots of lady friends that have done, and are doing, THM. They've had good success with losing weight with it. The second they go back to eating without worry about food combining, etc.…

Interesting that others have had this issue as well. I *could not* get out of funk mode after the holidays. I had gained a few pounds and just could not get back into deficit mode. I finally did some guided meditation with my practitioner and dealt with whatever emotional thing was holding me back. I still don't even know…

It did take me a bit to get use to the texture. I'm generally really picky about textures but it didn't take me long to get use to these.

Has anyone tried sheep yogurt? I can't do dairy and this was suggested to me bc of protein content. I do have to watch sugar content. Trader Joe's is a pretty good hike for me and I don't really want to drive there if it's not worth it or tastes nasty.

Interesting. I use the noodles for spaghetti all the time. They wouldn't work for something like lasagne. You have to rinse them really really well before heating them or they taste bitter. I use the shirataki "rice" too. I don't make much of anything with a strong flavor but I don't have any issue getting them to take on…

I had to disconnect my misfit like they said to your Fitbit and reconnect it and that fixed it. I don't have any trouble logging my cardio and then having it log my steps. I do have to be careful not to double dip.

And check thyroid!! Another biggie as we age.

Okay. Got you. Most reactions, minus eczema, will last from a few minutes to a few days depending on the severity of the allergy. Once eczema gets aggravated it would take us weeks sometimes to get our sons under control. Some of that depends on how widespread the eczema is. Our boy's went from his bottom all the way to…

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Do you mean did his reactions last only a short time in terms of minutes/hours? Or do you mean were they short term in terms of years? In terms of immediate reactions, a reaction for him could last up to 72hrs. But that goes for anyone. An allergic reaction can go from immediate…
