Water for me, and more active minutes on my tracker.

First tomato sandwich of the year!

It is much easier when we are both watching food intake and all the rest of the healthy stuff. Before he got on board there was always tempting food and treats. Now if I want something "junky" I have to go buy it. Since I'm a lazy bum at heart I can usually talk myself out of the urge. I do need to stay out of convenience…

Hi all, just stopping by to say hi! Great to see some new names and pictures in the mix. I had to work Saturday in a part of the state I don't get to very often, and so happens to be near Ikea. So I stopped there on the way home, because there is always something in there that I *need*. Turns out I *needed* hooks for the…

Just updated the last few boxes for last week. Didn't make enough time in my schedule to do the yoga videos, and almost stayed awake through the whole bedtime meditation. Tried curry for the first time, but I still don't know if I like it or not, because it was part of my friend's dinner when we went out last Tuesday and…

My sister refers to her fitbit by that name and it seems to have stuck. Sometimes I debate whether it is motivating and beneficial, or if I have become some new kind of zombie slave to an electronic device.

No worries, Ashley, life sometimes has different plans. Fitbitch is what my sister calls hers, and the name has stuck. I'm not sure the company would hire us as endorsers. I was going to go to the gym last night, but realized there was plenty of yardwork to do that would give me the same outcome. I maybe didn't burn as…

That was the sound of all of us trying to get our work done on Thursday so we could bug out early on Friday afternoon. I wish it was true, but I'm nowhere near finished for the day. Decided to forego the gym after work yesterday and replace it with yardwork. We have beds with over 300 varieties of hostas that take up about…

Thanks change! I've dropped four pant sizes since I started, shirt size has changed too, but I don't know how far - the belly isn't going away as fast as my butt. On the NSV side, I made 10,000 steps on my fitbitch for the first time today, and bought two pairs of non plus size, non spandex size 16 capris that I could wear…

No big secret, log every day, eat better, exercise. I did a half marathon last October (walking, I don't run)- finished, but I was dying at the end. Hope to be able to keep up with the rest of my much more fit siblings this year. Planning on doing the bay bridge 10k in November - if you aren't afraid of heights!

Every once in a while I think I've had an awesome four or five pound loss, but really it is just dog hair stuck under the feet of the scale. 29 pounds to 199 for me. I haven't been under 200 in probably 30 years. There will be a big party and it may involve Ice cream, or rum, or both.

Your humble respresentative from Carroll County. 47 pounds down, At least 80 left to go!

Had to post progress pictures for the Spring Break Challenge - that was a somewhat rewarding experience. I've never liked pictures of myself, I always think I take up too much space. That was definitely the case in my before picture. The today one wasn't so awful - but I still have a long way to go. I put on the same…

Just posted mine in the thread!

Ok, NOT brave enough to do underwear shots... maybe in my next life. Here is one from October 2015 the night before the Cocoa Beach Half Marathon. I'm the BIG girl over on the right. The rest of this motley crew are my sisters, niece, nephew, brother and step mom. This one is the exact same clothes, taken earlier this…

I don't mind sharing them, I just wanted to make sure I did whatever I needed to do to meet the challenge.

Had my weigh in at the doc's office yesterday and finally broke through a small plateau - I was only down two pounds in the last month, but yesterday I was awarded a loss of 3 pounds over the last two weeks. Guess tightening the reigns on treats helped some, and more salads than sandwiches for lunch. She offered to give me…

I haven't done photos, and the only thing I filled in on the preassessment was my best mile time. If I were to dig up photos, do they go on my home page or do I post them somewhere else?

Happy Weekend back at ya! Unfortunately in order to get me to dance there needs to be a fair amount of rum or whiskey involved, which sort of cancels out all the calories I would burn. Although someone did point out that at least I don't add any extra calories to the whiskey - just a few ice cubes.

Hi all! It seems, at the very least, that we all have a few things in common around here, besides the need to lose a hundred pounds, or more. We all struggle with challenges - time, health, age, temptations, self image, self-control, others in our life who support, or don't, and probably more. We may come from many places…

@GOINSTD12 What you suggest is exactly why I wish I lived closer. My daughter is a teacher and in addition to the seven year old, has four year old twins. They are so busy with school and work and general life things that the only free time seems to be late at night. I know once summer rolls around she will be doing more…

Thanks for the ideas for my granddaughter. Unfortunately, I live 300 miles away and can't be of much use. If I lived closer I would invite her to come walk with me or ride bikes or something. I think my daughter is making an effort to offer better food choices, but portion control and frequency of meals/snacks might be an…

I have been removing the too big items from my closet and am running out of options as well. I'm pretty sure that most of my summer clothes will be too big too. I'm a fan of places like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's. You can't go there if you need something in particular, but if you like treasure hunting it can be fun. They…

Three things I've learned: 1. I do better when I have someone looking over my shoulder, or the sense that I will be letting my team down if I don't follow through. 2. I have little tolerance for gimmicks and snake oil. 3. I'm still no good at any kind of dancing. Two things to work on: 1. Taking my workouts outdoors and…

3.1 miles down, will try for four tomorrow. I forgot to take advil before I went to the gym and had to slow the speed on the treadmill to keep my knee from rebelling. I've forgotten whether the conventional wisdom is to build endurance and speed will come, or build speed and endurance will come. Whichever way, the progress…

@RobinsEgg I wish you all the best in doing what is best for you - spend time in the "real" world doing those things that make you happy. If what that is isn't clear yet, then find something that is at least interesting. We are real people, but we are a poor substitute for human contact and interactions. Life needs…

Hey! Sorry I was MIA for a few days - I was away for the weekend and just got everything caught up on the spread sheet. I had a wonderful time, got some exercise and ate all kinds of stuff I wasn't supposed to this weekend. But I got to spend time with family, and friends, and the grands so it is all worth it. I'm haven't…

Every time I see chia seeds in a recipe I start singing the chia pet song in my head. I've never tried them as food that I am aware of. My current favorite snack is rice cake and peanut butter, or the 60 calorie fudgesicles when I need a little chocolate like frozen something.

Read a little about OMAD - I suppose there might be some merit, but I would need to see the science in order to be convinced. I tend to shy away when the advocates for something are also offering themselves as motivational speakers, or are so fanatical it borders on creepy. I feel like maybe it is the level of discipline…

Lettuce is OK, garlic, I like garlic, and peas... I like garlic and peas together, so maybe I can manage the nutritional challenge this week. I hate fish or seafood, so last week wasn't happening. Me belly dancing is going to be interesting and probably not suitable for public consumption, but probably more successful than…
