  • My diary is always open. Feel free to add me.
  • You can make a large baked Quiche/Fritata thingy in a baking pan. You could probably do 12 eggs in a 9 X 9 container (24 eggs for a lasagna tray - makes 24 single serves or 12 larger servings) - Mix in stuff like ham or bacon - but you can keep it veggie - Mushrooms, Onion, Spinach All mix-ins need to be pre-sauteed/cooked…
  • Is from the movie 'Ghost' - that scene where Swayze is being pulled into the light....
  • Hi, I can always use some new motivational friends who are looking for and want support. I've lost a little more than 15lbs so far, and looking to lose another 35-40lbs.

  • Keep your spirits high. While it feels like a setback, remember this is a journey, that will likely take weeks, months or years. At the end of that journey, when you have hit your goal weight, will you look back and remember this point. Will it matter that it took you 2-3 extra weeks, or will it matter most that you hit…
  • Open diary here. Feel free to add me.
  • I think the comments by @jprewitt1 are fairly bang on. I actually think you may have a really supportive husband, who is himself wondering about how what you are doing is changing the relationship. Sounds like you and your husband have bonded in the past over food, which is a very understandable thing. Now that that's…
  • Check out my diary, it's totally open. I'm also working in an office. I usually have 3 meals here (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack). I like to have a bit of a late breakfast (10am), I'm not usually hungry right in the morning. So I'll have cereal or instant oatmeal in the office. I try to find something with a lot of…
  • Loved your post. Great writing. And most of all... keep on dancing!
  • I track everything including vegetables. Because like others have said, some vegetables hardly matter (ie. 2 cups of lettuce vs 4 cups of lettuce really makes not a crack of difference). But some vegetables are surprisingly high in calories. If anything, it helps you learn more about what you eat.
  • If you can conceive it, and you believe it, you can achieve it. Rock it this year.
  • I have ribs. Like seriously, when I run my hands along my body (not that I'm feeling myself up)... I have ribs. I never thought I had ribs before. :)
  • So one thing that I've noticed, is that the first few weeks of going on an MFP plan is hard. Some people tell you, that if you do it right, you should never be hungry. And it's kind of true, but it's also kind of a lie. I've come to realize, I have to measure hunger on a new scale. My scale is this from most hungry to…
  • You look faaab-ulous! Congrats!
  • I think there's something to cheat days - though I don't call them that. I've recently been reading a bit about calorie cycling, and the main premise is that a normal person doesn't eat the same calories every single day. Some days it's more and some days it's less - that's normal. When MFPers begin to eat a relatively…
  • @ncfitbit - I learned something today. I often do what you do, and put a big plate on the scale to weigh things like chicken. But it covers up the numbers, and I have to look all around, shift the plate a bit to see the numbers. Small bowl under plate is absolute genius!!!
  • I totally get the pizza and lasagna and office food. Sometimes it feels like it's always against us. But one thing I like to think about is, will I ever be able to have this food again. Probably. Will I go to another family gathering in a week or 2 weeks, and will there be good food there again. Probably. There's a lot of…
  • Funnily enough, his foot got stuck in someone's butt, who had just died from being kicked up the butt. Too bad, they were in a desert. With a dead body stuck on his foot, he was unable to drag himself out of the desert before succumbing to dehydration.
  • lizzyomac - that's a lot of horrible feelings. Not all of which I think can be addressed in one posting. But I think the first thing you need to do, is just forgive yourself. You're not perfect, but nobody is. The past can be a horrible burden, and none of it can be undone. So drop it. And think about the future. The…
  • I once ate a hot dog and look what happened to me.
  • Definitely... catfish!
  • Hey man. Don't get discouraged. You've been logging in for a long while now. What is it that keeps you here? You need to think on that. Is the reason your here, worth it to you? If so, then make the changes you need. What is stopping you from making real changes? Old habits (they die hard, but they can die). Peer pressure…
  • Hey feel free to add me too. I don't always status update, but when I do, I try to make them interesting! Height: 5'10" SW: 220-ish CW: 206.5 (last Friday weigh-in) GW: 165-170
  • Hi, I like to keep a lot of veggies and cheese as snacks. Veggies are really key, they can fill you up a bit for very little calories... and they're good for you. Cream cheese with - carrots - celery - sweet pepper strips - those mini-sweet peppers are delicious - broccoli - cauliflower - apple I have a refrigerator at…
  • Ahhh... total determination... you are makin' me blush. I agree - those cravings need to be beaten. It's easier when I got an army of MFP pals like all y'all!
  • Thanks for the advice. I actually just did that, checked everything, all my goals are the same as before, and then updated my profile. Now it's put me on a 1280cal diet. That's crazy for me. :) I'm a burly man, with burly man needs. I'm going to go back to my 1400 cal diet, it's been working, I see no need to change it…
  • Hi Fellow Canadian. I'm from Toronto, ON. For someone who isn't really sure how to write a journal, you wrote a good first one! Congratulations on the weight loss. I get the mindset thing, it can really mess with you, and for me too, it's the most important part of losing weight. Feeling confident. Feeling like you are…
  • Have fun on the Disney Star Wars cruise Darth Kettiecat! I'm jealous.
