  • Just checking out my options. I enjoy workout videos because it tells me exactly what to do and how to do it. Not asking because of any particular fat or muscle-related goals. My friend recommended it and I wanted to hear some opinions from others before getting into the program.

  • What I did was load a bunch of Vaseline on my foot tattoo and then wrap it up. In other words, make whatever fabric or wrap that IS touching your foot so slippery that it won't cause serious friction. Treat your tattoo like a blister. I did a lot of lifting weights while my tattoo healed.
  • I am 5'3" and 135. I'm really pretty muscular, so I do look fine at this weight, but I'd really like to be in the 120-125 range. I feel as if people like us get bashed on MFP because we're many peoples' ideal height and weight and size, so I'm really thankful for this post!
  • Dry Ranch dressing mix is unbelievable on veggies! That is by far my favorite addition (besides butter, of course). I also love Lawry's seasoning salt.
  • The braiding prevents tangles, but it still gets stuck in my armpits and sports bra.
  • To everyone who responded to my post, I GREATLY appreciate all of your feedback, ideas, suggestions, and encouragement. Yes, this photo is not updated. This photo was taken pre-college softball and gymnastics. I am 5'3" and 140 pounds. Bet you wouldn't have guessed 140. Many of you are right. No, I am not "bulky."…
  • I cook a lot of chicken and pasta-type dishes. We also eat quite a few sandwich-based meals, such as taverns, pulled pork, and burgers. I usually eat these meals without buns or minimal pasta. The other problem is that we have one year of college left and don't have a lot of extra money to buy high-quality, expensive…
  • Absolutely, yes! The problem is that the antibiotics are killing ALL of the bacteria in your stomach, including the good bacteria that your body needs to have a "regular" digestive system. Invest in them immediately and begin taking them whenever you want. Expensive, but worth EVERY penny. I take them every day,…
  • I started having major digestive issues during my freshman year of college--probably adjusting to new food. I started taking probiotics and noticed a night-and-day difference. I will NEVER go without probiotics ever again. If there is such a thing as a weight loss-assistance pill, probiotics are it. The more live/active…
  • I asked my husband for the "Burn" and "Tone" supplement duo from Complete Nutrition for Christmas. I noticed zero difference whatsoever. I was disappointed. However, some supplements with caffeine may help simply because they give you more energy to get out and be active.
  • I wouldn't say that one or the other is better for weight loss, but exercising at night can mess with your sleep pattern since exercising releases hormones that give you energy. Also, it's said that exercising on an empty stomach (in the morning before breakfast) burns more fat than if you have supper still sitting in your…
  • Love my Fitbit. The ones that track your HR are great for estimating calories burned. What's great is that you can sync your Fitbit to MyFitnessPal, so you don't have to use the Fitbit food tracker.
  • Egg drop soup is an excellent choice. STEAMED dumplings (not pan-fried) would also be delicious. Opt for brown rice, if they have it. Keep in mind that most Chinese dishes use tons of oil--whether the food is breaded or not--so look for food items that are not necessarily cooked in a wok.
  • Keep in mind that coconut oil is SATURATED FAT (the bad kind) and not UNSATURATED FAT (the good kind). Coconut oil may be a "healthier" alternative in some cases, but it is still a "bad fat" and should be used sparingly.
  • All sweets. Once in a while I'll go on a sweets-free diet for a month or two, and completely lose my cravings/addiction, but I always tend to fall back in love with sweets no matter what.
  • Foam rollers work wonders! If you don't have one or don't want to purchase one, have a friend or family member use a rolling pin to roll out those sore muscles. I have had back spasms in the past, so my doctor prescribed me muscle relaxants a few years ago. My back spasms have since passed, but I have quite a few muscle…
  • Are you trying to edit a recipe you've made previously?
  • That's a great question. Quality or quantity? Which is more important?
  • These are my "before" pictures. I'm 5'3" and have been a gymnast all my life, so I've always had a lot of muscle. Wanted to lose a little more fat and even decrease some of that muscle through the program; I haven't had much luck. d
  • I was hoping to lose fat but found all of my muscles, especially quads, getting bigger. If I'd wanted to build muscle, then I would have tried P90X..
  • Thank you, all! I appreciate it!

  • I always train in Asics. As many others have said, everyone is different, but I've used Asics for all exercising purposes for years. I would stay away from Nikes at all costs. They're made to look good, and that's about it. If you order Asics online, especially on Amazon, previous models are often around $50!
