As others have noted . . . time, stretching, Advil and about all you can do. Maybe some warm baths or the hot tub at the gym if available. When you push your muscles for the first time--or particularly hard/different compared to what you have been doing--they will "push back". Sometimes it can take several days for the…

You should be able to find a decent Polar or Nike C5 type monitor (chest strap and watch combo) for around $80 - $120 or so. Different models are higher or lower in that range. I've had both and they work well, whether you are using the watch to keep track or in many cases the newer cardio machines will pick up the…

Fair point . . . they do tend to "suggest" supps as being important, depending on where you look. Just go in with the knowledge that you don't NEED them to be successful. If you struggle to get enough calories and protein then maybe a whey powder of some kind as a start.

You'll acclimate to it. After some time you won't get nearly as sore (until you start pushing things up a few notches and then you'll probably get sore again and then work past that). Your body adapts, but it does let you know you've pushed it at first or after a layoff. If you are REALLY sore . . . like painful sore then…

I've been doing 5am workouts for the last several years . . . it works out extremely well for me. The benefits just far outweigh the downsides. Gym is less busy so you can pretty much do what you want; you get the workout out of the way and so nothing "just comes up" to get in the way (very rarely anyway); gives you good…

Good start. It's all about consistency . . . with your eating and your workouts. Keep it up!

^^^ Those are all good starting point and as tarabole noted, bb.com has all sorts of info on programs. Probably some here . . . I'm brand new to MFP so I have no idea what is posted here for routines. I would imagine there has to be some. A lot of it comes down to what kind of person you are. If you are a self-starter and…

Strengthening your core can do a bit to help the "appearance" of the area . . . kind of like slouching makes your belly stick out and better posture makes it look better. If your weaker abs make your belly pooch out a bit then you might see some tightening up, but the amount of fat hasn't necessarily changed. So do try to…

Answer is the same. You can do exercises to strengthen/build your abs . . . doing so doesn't mean you'll burn belly fat. If your body strips fat from other areas first, you would have better abs under the same belly fat until your body happens to burn off the belly fat. When that fat does start coming off . . . then you'll…

All you can control is eating fewer cals than you burn, which results in a loss of overall bodyfat. You can't choose/control where your body stores fat predominantly or where it loses it predominantly. You might lose some (or even a significant amount) of bodyfat from the places you'd prefer to keep it--but eventually the…
