  • This is important! So much of our social programming is "all or nothing!" I felt better after SEVEN POUNDS. I need(ed) to lose well over a hundred, but at SEVEN POUNDS DOWN I could move with much less pain, and I could walk faster and sometimes I just felt great. I hadn't felt great in years! at 25 if I'd had any idea it…
  • I cannot eat just a teaspoon of peanut butter, so I'm that much more impressed with your choice. Go you!!
  • It's so hard to remember, but you're not doing it for the scale. you're doing it for the other stuff! (unless you really are doing it so you can look at the scale and see a certain number.) The scale is just...a readily apparent way to keep track? But it lies, too. I have done so well this week, and I'm only down a pound…
  • Congratulations!! that's fantastic.
  • I feel you. So much. This morning I got back down to a weight I first saw at the end of April and I wanted to scream. But! I'm still recovering from my fall (still have bruises, scabs, and twinges of pain!) and also I've been eating turkey lunch meat for dinner every night, so I *know* my sodium is higher than usual. We'll…
  • ha! I couldn't see what was in your pic because I never clicked through to embiggen. She's ADORABLE!! Spoil her a bit more for me!
  • Join me! @Making_Impossible_Possible Ryann, twenty-five pounds is nothing to sneeze at! You've done amazing things--give yourself that credit! I know the perils of comparison--last time I lost weight, it was 8-10 pounds a month. This time I'm struggling to drop 2 a month, doing things exactly the same stuff as far as I can…
  • Yes, yes, YES. I've been working for years to teach myself that "Do it now" saves me effort in the long run--so how about "toss that food NOW, instead of doing the work of taking it back off your tummy after you ate something you didn't even want?" @EDTake2 I read a lot of reviews, and this one was highly recommended.…
  • Last night I didn't want to go for a walk. It was an hour past sunset and 96°!! I told myself I didn't have to walk--I just had to get across the street to the park. Once I was there, I could turn around and go home. Of course, once I was there it seemed silly not to go ahead and get my step goal. My dog was VERY pleased.
  • I find it very hard to pass up free food for some reason. Especially if it's going to be thrown away. I've had some success reminding myself (and occasionally my daughter, who takes more than she needs and then tries to pass the extra to me) "I am not a garbage can!" I deserve better than to be treated as a disposal. I do.…

  • This. sometimes I can catch/stop a binge by asking "why do we need to be punished right now? Or is it fear? Eating will only help for a few minutes, so what else might help longer?" once in a while I manage to go for a walk. Sometimes I just take a few deep breaths and get some water. and sometimes...the binge just goes…

  • that I'd be standing naked in a locker room, lumpy fat and saggy belly and all, telling my daughter "look at those muscles! Not the fat and loose skin, that's leaving--look at those muscles in my thigh!" My daughter did not want to look. Embarrassing your kids is such fun. XD
  • I hate those days. Breakfast for dinner? a nice egg scramble full of veggies...? Good luck either way.
  • having only healthy(ish) food around--and also learning better coping skills! last night I was really feeling it, trying to binge--so I had a second grilled chicken sandwich, ate the last "GoodPop" orange cream popsicle, ate some dark chocolate--and then took myself out for a walk before I could dig further. It was a good…
  • Ha! I thought it was just coincidence. (I totally hear you on that misstep in the movies!) thank you for this thread. it really is helpful, and inspiring.

  • Ice cream has been my beloved nemesis for so long. If I have it, I *will* eat it. Doesn't matter if I divide it into servings and bury it in the chest freezer, doesn't matter if I buy bars or such to eat one a day--I'm gonna eat it all. To "get rid of the temptation." Yeah. That. So lately I've been able to avoid ice cream…
  • Decided on a whim to go swimming Tuesday, grabbed two pieces--top and bottom-- and off we went. Tossed them in the washing machine when I got home. Realized yesterday when I went to put the clean suit away that I'd grabbed the smaller swim skirt--I've been wearing 26/28 for years and Tuesday I yanked on a 22 and didn't…
  • Hee! Face to face is probably fine, since they're an ambush predator. It's when you don't know it's there that you're in trouble. ;) @seltzer_lover I sure hope the migraines go away soon! you're doing awesome, @pamperedlinny At times, most kids would drive anyone to drink. ;) @CupcakeCrusoe dang! hang in there! @finngirl61…
  • Went swimming last night. Well, more like flail around in the water talking to my daughter for an hour. Came home exhausted and slept like a rock! Today i am all loose and walking fast and feeling good! Have to remember to switch things up, and also how much I love going for a "swim."
  • Heh. I looked down today and thought "no way the girls got bigger." No, there's just not that huge stomach on the far side of them anymore, making them look smaller!
  • I hit a new low today! And I'm wearing a size L shirt for the first time in six years. (It's a Woman Within size L but it's NOT a Woman Within size 2X!!) I'm so glad. I really needed that win. @CupcakeCrusoe thanks! Someone else on the forums somewhere (maybe even here!) said weight can go up for many reasons, but it can…
  • I'm wearing a large size shirt today. People keep complimenting me on the color, saying I look really nice today.
  • having the pieces of a meal prepped, so I can still build a healthy dinner when the plan falls through.
  • @biohazardinc how terrifying! I had an incident like that as a child (my chain slipped, no hand brakes, top of a hill!) but no one was there to stop me. I've been terrified of hills on a bike since. Does she have hand brakes? Maybe a brake (on the BACK WHEEL) for when she's scared? SO glad she's okay. I also love your…
  • umm...hi. So way back on February 2nd, I posted-- I've been reading! Just not posting. y'all have been keeping me going and didn't even know it. March SW was 230.9, April 226.8, May 225. 5/6 225.1 5/13 223.5 5/20 5/27 really really REALLY need to get over my BS and get on with this. <3 to all!
  • oh geez, yes, I have had many discussions in my head about how just because it's free doesn't mean I have to eat it. I can afford food! I have lots at home. If I want a donut, I'll go get a good one (help/doesn't help to have a good bakery nearby.) It's an ongoing conversation.
  • Yesterday for lunch I decided to treat myself to a salad delivered from a favorite restaurant. In the app as I ordered, I got a message for "you've earned a reward! One-half your favorite sandwich! Expires soon!" so what the heck, I added that to the order. It was free! And both combined were about 700 calories. I'd…
