Day 1: 50 Squats in under 3 min. Had to stop 2-3 times for some air haha. By the end of this I hope to add at least 50 lbs. to my squat. I'm at 110 right now (don't laugh, it's not bad for a chicken hehe).

I actually found a way you can supposedly search for members within your zipcode, but it doesn't work properly, and the tech team is aware of it and "working on a solution" ... so, maybe soon it can be a dating site? B)

I have heard that stress can cause issues with gaining weight, so try to stay relaxed and be patient. Also, your body weight will fluctuate throughout the day, so pick a time of day to weight yourself (morning is usually best) and only weight yourself during that time. To help stay relaxed, you might also consider weighing…

Deadlift, Back squat, Bench Press and Pull-Ups would be my picks, but proper form is crucial to avoid injury so use light weights when starting out and make sure you have good core stability/strength before adding weight.

Ya, and is someone spotting you making sure you don't lose form under heavier load? Are you stretching before lifting, after or both?

I think that is a great goal! Too many women are so obsessed about the number on the scale, they forget about their curves and turn into toothpicks.

Unless you stumble across someone who lives nearby, I don't see how this could be a dating site. There would be hundreds of threads with cities and states, just doesn't seem realistic. Unless there's a better way to narrow who you can contact...?

Fruit smoothie with kale, carrots, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, yogurt and use water, green tea or V8 fusion/splash to thin it out. Cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger are always welcome too. Use different fruit/veggie combo to find one you really like. One great combo in banana with PBfit or PB2.

DASH diet is awesome. It is a long-term solution to healthy eating habits, and has been proven to reduce cholesterol, hypertension and prevent/control diabetes, according to the research I have found. The meals are easy, they use common ingredients that are readily available, and there is a 30 minute cookbook that has 175…

One cheat meal can ruin your entire week of hard work. Think of it in these terms if you will, working out will either earn you extra weight loss OR and extra meal, not both. "Wise man say, man who chase both rabbit AND duck deserve neither, lose both." ;)

Check out the DASH diet cookbook, it has good recipes in there. It lowered my cholesterol and my blood pressure in only a month or two. Good food, quick, painless and delicious, not to mention healthy.

I prefer salmon for extra protein. Good fats, lots of energy, and it's delicious (grilled, steamed, whatever). It also goes well with rice and a side of mixed veggies IMO. Still need more, try Greek yogurt and some oatmeal for breakfast (add some fruit and make it a parfait). Then there's eggs, which I also love.

I do similar; I cook food in bulk and store serving size portions in saran wrap and freeze them. I can mix and match to stay sane and still stay healthy and within my calorie limit. Plus it takes no brain power, so even when I'm exhausted, it's actually more work and time to eat bad, so it's like a triple win, or however…

I have the same problem. I'll make things like stir fried rice, and variations on that using quinoa and different kinds of meat, beans, corn etc. This gives me a pretty wide variety of flavors without having to change much about the recipe. The meats and beans are cooked separately, and can either be thrown in with the…

Feeling alone can be devastating, so try to make it a priority to reach out to your community and find support anywhere you can.

I'll give this a try, I'm trying to perfect my squat form and increase my 1RM for the squat (and everything else). Should all the squats be done in a single set, or can they be divided into a few sets...please...? :)

I agree with that to a point, but if you want to lose weight, it will be difficult if you aren't willing to make SOME sacrifices. So my solution, find healthier options to love. Good recipes are out there if you are willing to try new things and if you have some skill in the kitchen. Keeping it all within your calorie goal…

I get pretty good results doing sprints on the treadmill for as long as I can as fast as I can, and then walking until my heart rate comes down enough so that I can do it again. I warm up by walking briskly for 5 min, do about 5 sprints (I aim for 60 sec) and then cool down by walking again. Call it whatever you want,…

When I was working 12-hour shifts with a 45 min commute 5x per week, I ate the Waffle house breakfast sampler, I think it was called, it's practically a mini-buffet, then Wendy's cheeseburger meal with soda for lunch, and Pizza Hut small supreme pizza and an order of fried buffalo wings for dinner almost every day... I…

I weigh myself every day, in the morning, before my shower, with the understanding that random fluctuations are expected (for me they are usually +/- 2 lbs.) and I use the restroom before weighing, but I only log when I lose weight. I also use calipers to estimate by BF% and I use these once per month on my belly only. I…

She's right (I'm assuming this author is a woman) a lot of men don't appreciate how much work it takes to be a caring mother, and even if they do, they often do not show it, or even acknowledge that you need some support and maybe even some positive attention. If he knows how you feel, maybe he will be more supportive, and…

Check out the DASH diet 30 minute cookbook (the diet is in terms of long-term health, not a temporary eating plan type of "diet"). DASH stands for Dietary Approach to Stopping Hypertension and has "176 recipes in 30 min or less" and according to the studies surrounding it, has been shown to reduce cholesterol, hypertension…

It sounds like you need a hobby or something constructive that will get you out of the house and help you be a little more active. If you like animals, you might look into doing something like a dog-walker; you can get paid to take other people's pets to the park, is that a thing? I'm just spit-balling, but something along…

You said you are trying to lose weight and get healthy, yet you are motivated by external sources. In this case, what is your external source of motivation, or is that what you are searching for? If you have a goal, then surely you have a reason for having that goal. Just remember that every decision you make can affect…

I started doing this stretch, and after a few days I have never had problems again. Well, two stretches. First is the easiest, just stand up straight, and sit down as far as you can without falling backwards (keep your heels on the floor and only use your arms to balance, not hold yourself up). You should feel a stretch in…
