This is fantastic, well done!

I did a big chop and added reddish highlights after losing 43 lbs (below is before and after pic) not a pixie but as short as I dared to go at the time. I’ve since grown it out long again but short hair certainly has it’s perks... using a lot less shampoo and conditioner, less tangling and less drying time. I’m enjoying my…

Chopsticks! And use them with your non-dominant hand! That would definitely slow me down :D

I’m definitely a snacker and probably do 500 calories a day worth of snacks or even more! I still lost 43 lbs of excess weight and have maintained my goal weight for almost 6 years now. In the end it all comes down to a calorie deficit for weight loss, how one achieves that calorie deficit might indeed differ from person…

Clothing sizes are just about meaningless, I’ve been maintaining my goal weight for almost 6 years now and I wear clothes that are labeled anywhere from XS - XL. I just go by how they fit rather than what some manufacturer decided to put on the label. I usually cut out the labels from my clothes anyway so what’s it matter?…

For a reward I bought bikinis when I reached my target weight although it still took some time to feel completely confident in them B) As far as fitness, I became a runner to maximize my calorie burn in the least amount of time and I fell in love with it... now trail running is my passion! :)

:D :D :D we are scrub twinsies today!

Stop comparing yourself to others. You have control over your food and fitness choices, no one else. You do you :)

Congrats! Fantastic progress! :)

Lol! :D Runs With Bees is my “trail name” my son gave it to me after I ran down a trail lined with wildflowers and disturbed the bees feeding on them as I brushed the plants when I ran past and they flew up all around me but I stayed calm and kept my running pace and made it through without getting stung once :#

Thanks! <3 You are sweeter than honey :) :) :)

Hypothyroid runner here. I know what you mean about feeling tired and like your body is extra “heavy” when running. I noticed this a few months ago and mentioned it to my doc at my checkup appointment so he checked my levels and I did indeed need a slightly higher dose of Levo. Another thing to consider is having your iron…

Sorry you took it that way, was not intended to annoy anyone, intent often doesn’t translate well online and emojis don’t always hep either... my point was that the OP should just be true to themselves and just say what they mean since they are able to express it so clearly in the post :)

Just tell them in your own words :)

Thank you! :) It truly has been a journey and taken me 40 years to learn to love my body but once I did it was a fantastically liberating feeling <3

I will never have a flat tummy for a few reasons: Genetics: even as a child and skinny teen I’ve had a rounded tummy. Discipline: I’m not willing to diet down to lower fat percentage levels and put in the hard work and dedication it takes to achieve a flat tummy, it’s just not one of my priorities but I admire those that…

@thkdiffgirl Thanks so much! That’s so awesome you are getting into running! When I started it was very difficult for me, I could only run a few seconds before getting out of breath! But I just kept at it and little by little it got easier to go just a little bit further and before I knew it I was finally able to run a…

Losing 43 lbs and more importantly keeping it off for almost 6 years! Also having so much energy to do anything I want, I remember when I was so out of shape and had no energy... never going back to that again!

Run 5K because I <3 running!

You look great! Fantastic progress!!!

I’ve been maintaining my 43 lb weight loss for almost 6 years and definitely one of the things that continues to motivate me is being able to feel confident in my outfits. When I was obese I had a hard time finding clothing that fit my body the way I wanted. After weight loss, I got my waist back and having a more defined…

Don’t let age be an excuse, it’s never too late to improve yourself!

We’re a similar build... I’m 5’11” and weigh 167 which is my goal weight that I’ve maintained for almost 6 years now (I started out at 209 lbs) My primary exercise is running (trail and pavement) add me if you like :) due to one of MFP’s many glitches my add friend button doesn’t work :s otherwise I’d send you a request :)

What does your body (not anyone else) tell you to do? If you literally cannot move your legs then how in the world does he expect you to repeat the workout?!! Use common sense and don’t injure yourself! When I was obese and sedentary I couldn’t walk around the block or up a flight of stairs without being out of breath. I…

Could you have possibly become lactose intolerant? I found out in my 30’s I became lactose intolerant after I’d get the most horrible cramps and bloating after drinking milk so now I have to take a lactose enzyme pill if I consume dairy to avoid the intestinal upset.
-
Great pic but how did you climb up there?! :o

I’m in maintenance so my goal is maintaining the body shape I have achieved through eating less and moving more.
